what is the point of a second character?

Probably to play as both genders... though I always play on my male character. (I think the female models look like men anyways)

For me it was because i had already leveled up my 1st character past 120 and there was nothing else to do really so i made a 2nd character to start over again.

Some people find it boring to rank up again but others like it because it doesn't get boring because you have a reason to play without being bored

people who bring up sexuality due to a videogame say more about themselves than what they assume they know about others.

go figure

for all you insecure eunuchs out there who only conceive playing as a male, here's your theme song

I promised my girlfriend that I would make a (sassy) black woman as my character. Later I made a white guy (which I am) which ended up being my main. I like having both for the extra garage slots. :)

Some guys prefer to look at a female character for hours on end, while other guys who are mostly insecure or gay prefer to go with the norm and look at a male characters body for hours on end. These insecure players are usually just teens and obviously insecure about playing as a female character in case their friends criticise them. As for the older players in their 20's and beyond who prefer to look at a male characters body, well I always just presume they are gay or bisexual.

Meh, that's just how I look at it.

Lol its 100% true what you said about the insecurity part. I think everyone should have BOTH and this world will be a better place.

It used to be a way to sell a second car to LSC within 48 minutes. But Rockstar took that out.

Also, secretly I like driving my pink Rocoto down to the store to buy lots of girlie clothes. And then I'll go have my hair and makeup done.

-male/female - unique clothing options for each

-garage space - one char is geared more toward races and has the best of each class. The other just has fun stuff

-additonal fun ranking up. My male is 213 and female is 220. I try to bounce between them to stay close.

-why not? If the other stupid slots weren't locked I'd have more than 2...

For different life styles. You can create complete different character without lose your first character.

Also male//female character user players can choose opposite gender for another experience.

Sex and racial differences.

Perhaps roleplaying/alternate persona differences as well?

Just like making another character in any game, a fresh start.

If they shared levels it would be boring. I'm level 266 on my main, and 77 on my second.

But it is boring to slog through the grindfest gtao has become.

To get to 120 again would be like hitting my erection with a hammer.

You don't know what a grindfest really is until you play Destiny.

You don't know what a grindfest really is until you play 9Dragons.

Gta online is still a grind.

Its foundation is essentially a free 2 play model,

It exploits the play/pay ratio,

To an extent where the only viable way to obtain any content would have to be cash cards.

So yeah its a grind

The point of our posts shows that it isnt that much of a grind compared to other games. Its all about perspective and the psychology behind it. When I was leveling up to 120 ( as after 120 has no meaning whatsoever), it felt like it took forever as I was striving for goals and objectives. Now im like lvl 245-ish. I have gone up to this lvl 'so quickly', it feels like just yesterday i was at lvl 120. I just cant believe it was so quick.

In other words, time flies by when having fun. You are having less fun at low lvls when you are trying to make ends meet, gathering enough cash for weapons and ammo, buying houses, buying cars, tuning cars, getting occassionally owned when at a disadvantage due to the difference in levels. At high levels, you do missions and races for mainly fun opposed to cash especially when you are already somewhat loaded. Ive noticed i make more cash/rp when i do countless missions and races for fun at these high levels compared to my low lvl days.

So, just look at it in a different way. Dont have your main goal as grinding. Try to make it fun. Mix it up. Usually by grinding, some ppl relate it to the word 'repetitive'. GTA is definitely not repetitive.

Rejuvenates the game. Playing since launch I had a rank 305 and 165-ish. I went a step further and created another account. Now have a 101 and 31 and I'm back to enjoying playing every day

Edit: and that's from playing primarily ONLY deathmatches and races and choosing NOT to play missions as that's the way to rank up faster. I enjoyed being underestimated as a low rank player

I use the 2nd character on my sons account. I had it easy with money access but legitimately earned everything else on my own. I enjoy the hell out of the game.. And I'm a50 year old mom.. Lol..actually just surpassed his level since Friday...

GTA Online and Destiny are the only games I play these days. My GTA characters are around levels 250 and 45, and my Destiny character is around level 24 (haven't played much yet). If you reset all of my characters to first level, gave them max level, or tossed leveling out of the games, I would not care. It's never a grind because I enjoy the gameplay and play the games to have fun, not to accumulate meaningless virtual rank. I don't understand anyone who plays a game that they don't enjoy playing.

No freaking f*cking idea man...

I mean some will say you can do it all over again but... cant you just replay contact missions and jobs??

Others will say they can be a boy and a girl at the same time, but well everyone knows they are fat bastards without access to porn or simple attention whores, its the same old sh*t in the forums

I just really dont get it, if your character is level 300+, why dont you go and play some other game instead of doing the same sh*t over and over until a new update comes out??

GTA 5 is NOT the only GTA and clearly is NOT the only f*cking game pals...

Why would I compare gta o to destiny or 9dragons?

They are completely different games.

While we are at it,

Lets compare gta online to halo and diablo.

If you are complicit to make outlandish comparisons, between games that don't share playstyles,

sure go for it.

I was trying to address what is fundamentally wrong with gta o.

Grinding is a cop out,

Regardless of the game.

In fact rstar would make even more money if things like a tank and guns weren't held behind lvls.

Im thinking for them now.

Don't hate me if they do such a thing next patch.

There's a few reasons, either you don't like the way your first character looks, you want more garage space, you want to play a different gender or you just want to start over and unlock all the weapons, vehicles, mods and abilities again.

You dont have to compare it...sigh....i was using that to illustrate my point. Stop playing GTA with the intent of grinding. Do it for fun instead and money/rp will be a by-product. 9D and Destiny is repetitive so its only in GTA you can avoid the grinding.

DeadMoonNight

Why? You can own more vehicles. You can have both genders and buy different clothes. It's nice to have something to work towards if you've unlocked everything already. And after you level your first character up it's fun to start a second one and play against low levels in deathmatches and races. :sly:
