I feel like this should be common sense for R* to change....

So we all know the performance upgrades and overall speed for the cars and bikes are good but really isn't and I believe it because the consoles couldn't process everything at high speeds however now we have the newer consoles that can. The reason I find this to be true is a fully modified Sabre which is a 9-litre 550ci motor that has to put out at least 500hp stock and so a fully modified version should be close to 800 or more can still be caught up to by the police and can be beat by a Viergo when both cars are stock. So now that we have new powerful consoles I think it would be common sense to give the vehicles more accurate speed, acceleration, and handling. This would be a more simple thing to change however they have most cars placed in category's so that all the cars perform very similar and I think that just ruins the feel of the more sporty cars if regular cars cant be blown away. So basically just change the stats of each car to what it really should be and then allow for proper speed adjustments if upgrades are bought.

Also for most people that don't know this but the game tells you that the adder goes 250ish however that is just a scale speed to allow the game to run smooth in reality its really going like 99mph I believe

I agree that the rubberbanding cops can be annoying, although it can keep car chases interesting, as you have loose the cops in the corner & through the traffic. I suspect that's the reason it's tuned like that.

But GTA V isn't a car simulator & I very much doubt Rockstar are going to be redoing the entirity of the car stats.

Cop cars are fast in reality however not as fast as Sports cars and other modified cars out there so the way they keep up is by radio or helicopter.

The game is called Grand Theft AUTO, cars are one of the main aspects of the game so they should at least try to get them right.

It most certainly does not. It keeps cop chases retarded. It's a terrible way to try and make chases last longer.

The thing is if you are driving the (for example) Crown Vic. cop car and are being chased by another Crown Vic. cop car, the AI cop car is still faster than you. He can accelerate and bash your rear bumper whenever he wants to even if you are on full throttle.

I hate Rubberbanding in games in general. It is a poor way of adding difficulty.

Cheers.

The cops also seem to know what direction you are going to turn too. My friend and I were in a chase (I spawned with one star. They need to fix that bullsh*t) and the cops kept catching up and ramming us, and would turn left or right as soon as my friend turned, and the cop's turning is extremely sharp so they kept spinning us out and wrecking us. I get they want chases to be longer, difficult, and interesting but this bullsh*t doesn't make it work.

After reading this I don't even give a sh*t to respond to what the OP said, this part is too god damn hilarious.

I'd take faster cars at the expense of little graphical bugs (not being fast enough to render things, even though I doubt that would be the problem because of the draw distance)

Even though it is configured for 99.4 MPH the actual top speed of the Adder is about 120MPH due to a feature they forgot to remove/intentionally kept from IV. But watch out, you might get a bunch of morons trying to argue with you about this even though they have no idea what they're talking about, like they did with me in this thread: http://gtaforums.com/topic/739134-a-new-preview-of-the-first-person-view-in-vehicles/

Anyway yeah I agree with you, I want cars to be able to actually travel the speed their real life counterparts can, hopefully the new consoles will allow this, if not, we always have the PC version :)

You people don't understand. Rubberband-effect is perfectly fine because GTA is not a driving simulator. It therefore makes sense to make it possible to drive the Faggio in 450mph. But that is not possible. Why?

That's a knife-sharp argument.

In the same way graphics should not be improved in the PC version. GTA V is not a simulator. Neither should the fighting system become more complex because GTA V isn't a fighting simulator. I actually think that the carmodding features should be toned down because GTA V is not Need For Speed. I don't even get it why Rockstar Games added planes into the game. GTA isn't really a flightsim, is it? There is no need for new equipment and clothes either. GTA isn't The Sims. Vehicles that dissapear in the garage is not something that has to or should be fixed - after all, GTA V is not a physics simulator.

Hell, we should not improve anything, or change anything, because if we do the games becomes a sim.

End of story.

I respectfully disagree. If it makes the game more enjoyable, and the hardware can handle it (pc / current gen), then why not?

That is the dumbest argument ever and you're wrong. Arcade driving doesn't make rubberbanding okay. You don't know what the hell your talking about.

They designed the cops to catch up to you so that cop chases were more interesting. I personally like the challenge (despite the lack of realism behind it) only because the cop chases in GTA4 were so damn bad. You could drive straight down one road and the cops would lose you at 4 stars... it was so stupid.

More hyperboles about IV.
