How does the rounds of LTS decide who wins in this situation?

Okay, so let's so I'm up against an opponent and there's only two of us left. We're the last ones standing right? Well he goes off and decides to hide and camp in a place where he has the advantage or he just simply keeps running and doesn't give me a chance to catch up. He does this so that the timer runs out, but here's the question. Who wins when the timer runs out? I've played the full playlist with this dude and we both ended up being last several times, and each time this has happened, I've won a few and he's won a few.

It's like we were chosen at random, but there has to be something to this so we know who will win unless we kill the other? Anybody know about this?

Hell go out of bounds and it counts as getting killed/dying.

Theres a warning and 30 second timer to get back in bounds.

Not sure. I was playing the 3rd LTS in the Playlist and hid on the Buildings near the Train Tracks trying to shoot RPG's at the 2 Tanks left on the other team...In the end I ran the timer down and Lost the Round.

Honestly I would just commit suicide. And I do. Or call an airstrike on them.

The team with lower number will lose. Op is wondering about tied situations.

I would expect it to be like Max Payne 3. (Another Rockstar game with the same exact game mode - Last Team Standing)

Let's say this particular player had more kills than you in that current Last Team Standing round and you and him end up in a 1v1 situation. He would win that round for his team because if you didn't kill any players in that round and he did, he would have that advantage. It's quite confusing but this is how it was in Max Payne 3 and I doubt Rockstar changed it in GTA V.

If you killed more players however in that current round and he didn't than you would have the advantage.

OR

If this was similar to a Red Dead Redemption "Overtime" type situation when there is just two players remaining than whoever killed who first would win.
