Vehicles
I do not have any airsoft guns.Only some plastic bbs left from my childhood. And I am unable to get a real airsoft rifle. Why?Cause Malaysian government prohibited any and all airsoft items.Although I know a few friends that have some airsofts.Paintball is still legal but it's not my cup of tea. Incident:A teenager ordered an airsoft handgun and the gun really get delivered. But the customs department seized it and guess who got in jail? His parents. GunWrath
I bought an M4 Carbine airsoft gun a couple years ago but only shot it a few times. Never found any one locally that was big into airsoft or any sort of events though I'm sure there were some, I just didn't dig around deep enough to find any. I know the M4 that I have shot pretty well and accurate so I can only imagine how fun airsoft would be with enough people, though like most in here, I normally preferred paintball but airsoft allows for more tactical/simulated scenarios with the variety of replica airsoft guns out there and gear available. Would be nice to have some re-enactments or actual operational skirmishes. I've watched videos of some airsofters and the battles were pretty f*cking gnarly minus all the blood and guts. I wish simunition was sold for recreational use/sport, not sure if any of you are familiar with Simunition? I used to watch a show on MIL Channel called Special Ops Mission or something like that.. and one dude Wil Willis would execute actual raids and recon missions against a number of other guys on the other team, though all of them were former Military but it was just basically war games.. but they used Simunition, which is basically a bullet but paint.. but more accurate and for FPS than paintball or airsoft. But actual service weapons, such as M4's, pistols, etc use a conversion kit that is designed for simunition, and presto, you're ready to go. It looks so f*cking fun man.. So far, only military and law enforcement are allowed use of simunition for training purposes.. just really wish it was extended further because playing some actual war games / missions with using actual M4's and sh*t would be hella fun and I'd probably pay whatever it took to join or play. I just hope somewhere along the lines they'll release the conversion kits or actual simunition weapons to use for sport at some point. I'd be into that sh*t for sure. universetwisters
wiizardii
I remember a while ago some other forum members and I were talking about making some airsoft thread or something for those who do it to discuss it and the likes so after thinking about it I decided to give it a go and stuff. Who here does airsoft? I've got a few airsoft guns I used to use to shoot at targets in the backyard but now I've just been collecting them to make into movie props for movies with my buddies. This here's one I just got today, a Cyma "ZM93" spring loaded AK47 rifle. It's pretty good for it's money, which was like 40 at a flea market. Do you do any airsoft? Do you use it competitively or just for shooting at vermin in the yard? Post your stories & stuff here Your AK looks pretty cheap-ass. The stock looks like plastic, and the butt on the stock looks like its gunna break off. Also, the orange muzzle (its always orange in America because of law) looks cheap too. What fleamarket did you buy it from? Edited October 12, 2014 by Phoenix_Poop

What fleamarket did you buy it from? One out in Daytona. It's a plastic stock but it's the sturdy kind of plastic, a lot better than the one on my M4 (pictured). Overall, it's a pretty good performer. I might have to paint over the orange muzzle or something though seeing as I bought the gun mostly for a film prop. Even if its for film prop, don't. Only paint the muzzle if you know you are never gunna use that airsoft gun for backyard shooting again, or such. If you are gunna do the film in public, don't paint it black. If you are gunna film privately or something like that then its fine that you paint it black. El Dildo
the law is clear, yes. but plenty of kids have spray painted their orange tips black to film a little movie or whatever. as long as you don't carry that thing down the street as you walk towards a bank in the middle of broad daylight, you should be fine. SouthLand
In Spain since buying guns it's ilegal (Except if you buy hunting riffles, and you need to pass a lot of exams to get your licence), all airsoft guns DON'T have an orange cap. You can buy real guns that are modified inside so you can't use them and you don't need licence or anything (That's what i have).
sivispacem
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain the "orange muzzle" thing in the US isn't generally law (might be in a few states) but is a norm to avoid confusing real weapons with replicas and therefore to limit the company's liability should someone brandish one and get shot. Pretty sure there's a specific exemption for BB guns in the legislation regarding replica firearms having to either be brightly coloured or have an orange muzzle. I think Airsoft dealers have to sell guns with the orange tips, not really sure. As far as the orange tip thing on a personal level, it varies from state to state, county to county. Usually called "deceptive coloring" or some such. Edited October 14, 2014 by gtarelatedusername2

Pretty sure there's a specific exemption for BB guns in the legislation regarding replica firearms. I've heard it's a law, but I don't think it's that enforced outside of, as mentioned above, backyard shooting and other competitive stuff. The booth I got my AK at had some guns that didn't have the tips, granted they were based off Saturday night specials you generally shouldn't competitively use, but yeah. I'm pretty sure there's some dead giveaways that can tell a real gun from an airsoft one save for the orange tip aswell. An MP5 that used to work for me was a pretty big giveaway because it was flimsy as f*ck and the magazine was crazy small

Davo the Assassin
I've never done airsofting, though I'd love to give it a proper go. But I simply don't know enough people locally to me to get a good set up going. I have done the military equivalent to laser tag though when I trained with the TA. That was pretty awesome. Effectively you attach a laser pointer (for lack of a better description) to the end of the barrel of your rifle, and wear sensors on your body and helmet. The system works by sending out a pulse every time you fire a blank round, which has been zeroed with the rifle, so that if you hit the opponent it sets off their sensor and deactivates their own laser, as well as beeping incessantly (Not that you can hear it over the sound of gunfire, grenades, ear defence etc.) It adds a new level of realism than your Directing Staff just walking behind you and telling you when you've been killed. Though it did also end up me being blue on blue'd once by my fellow guys. Man I was pissed.
