III vs Liberty City Stories

Although III is better, I think LCS had much more options and features + storyline missions.

Toni cipriani seems like a cool protagonist, he's probably the only good one R* could chose, could you imagine playing as Salvatore or Kenji? (I hate you Kenji)

LCS was better. More weapons, more cars, and them map was way better.

Map better? It's the same map as GTA III's Liberty City minus a few differences, like no Porter Tunnel like III had and the Callahan Bridge was also in construction in LCS unlike III. Also there is another construction going on in Portland, everything else is pretty much the same.

GTA Liberty City Stories.

 

Toni is pretty much a talking version of Claude (although he's a henchman rather than a freelancer, which is a cons considering his lapdog-ness), which makes the overall experience feel somewhat more soulful. When it comes to the atmosphere, GTA III had a very captivating atmosphere, but honestly, the gloominess of it felt somewhat overdone, as well as the aggression of the gangs, and thus I'm glad that R* toned them down with Liberty City Stories. Not to mention the addition of bikes and more weapons.

Still GTA III. LCS felt too soft IMO and oddly felt like some strange compromise between GTA III's dark and brooding atmosphere and the goofiness of San Andreas. Plus even though Claude never utters a word I like him more than Toni who really just came across a as momma's boy.

III is better. The atmosphere feels more fitting for the 'worst town in America', and while Liberty City Stories may have improved on the story foundations, it is still probably the weakest 3D era story considering the main antagonist is barely present throughout the game and IMO the story takes a noticeable dip after Portland because you definitely become Sal's lapdog at that point and it really feels like I'm doing missions for him because he has so many throughout the game. I don't care about the bikes because I will be in a car most of the time anyway.

I think gameplay and design wise LCS is better but antagonist is sh*t. I like toni aside from him being soft mama’s boi. Gta III is my favorite game in the series.

I liked III more, it blew me away back in the day and made me a fan of the series. My fondest GTA memory is driving that Kuruma for the first time with 8-Ball. The game was something.

LCS just doesn't feel right. The weather is a bit odd, the doors they slap on some of the buildings look unnatural.

 

It's not a bad game, it just doesn't have the feeling of being complete as GTA III, more like a mod.
