Tikhung
I'm not saying that GTA V directly based off Pulp Fiction, but Rockstar tried to tell the story in a "Pulp Fiction" way, just like how they told Vice City in "Scarface" way,... maybe the good part of GTA V is the dialogue and little details, not the whole story itself? Drunken Cowboy
I thought GTA V was built off the stellar film, The Room. I felt that Michael was tearing Trevor apart, and Trevor was constantly feeling betrayed and fed up with this wuhrld. Michael reminded me a lot of Mark because he told a lot of great stories. Franklin didn't do much but he liked to watch so I felt he was a good representation of Denny, allegorically showcasing injustice in third-world society. calambos, Special Members, Payne Killer and 9 others

Shenmue18
Honestly, I didn't get a Pulp Fiction feel off the Godawful story of GTA V, I also didn't really feel a Godfather feel off of GTA IV or a Scarface feel off VC either. Sure VC was set in the same time and the mansion Vercetti stays at after the end of the game is definitely based off Tony Montana's mansion, but the story itself didn't give off that much of a Scarface feel to me. calambos

Algonquin Assassin
I'd say GTA IV/EFLC is more like Pulp Fiction due to the different perspectives of the same missions and the individual stories being told in a non-linear sense even though it's one big, connected story. I'm not sure what GTA V's story feels like. It's too confused and inconsistent to have any parallels drawn to a movie/tv show. calambos and matajuegos01

Kalerney
Well no. It's easy to think that GTA V storytelling might be based on Pulp Fiction because of the 3 characters/stories division, but if we take more things in consideration, there's not that much similitudes between the two. By the way, IMO Pulp Fiction is the most overrated movie I've ever seen. It's boring, bland, lame ... I hated it, I was expecting something waaay better for what is supposed to be one of the best movie ever. I almost stopped watching it toward the middle. simonp92
GTA IV + EFLC is pulp fiction in gameform. Which is why I love it so damn much. GTA V felt like a stereotypical american action movie, if you must compare it a movie by Tarantino though, it's more like Resovoir dogs. For instance the focus on heists and the similar torture scenes. But that is streetching it abit. EDIT: I get a really strong Taxi Driver feeling from GTA IV too. The dark gritty reality of New york is portrayed very similarly in both Taxi Driver and GTA IV. A few missions though have obvious refences to other movies. Three leaf Clover resembles one of the heists from Heat, with the shootout through the city, after a bankrobbery, and Heavy Toll from TLAD bears a similarity to the scene with the gunfight at the tollbooth in The Godfather.
