Anybody wish there was an option to "Cap" your Online Rank?

I wish there was an option to "CAP" our Rank at a certain level - (Only when you pass 120) I heard when you reach 120, it's pointless... Why can't your level just be stopped at 120 or beyond? Players have already bought an apartment, garage, several vehicles at the moment and that's pretty much it.

One important reason: Bragging rights.

No, seriously. After you turn 120, your background turns bronze. If you continue to level up, your background turns silver, then golden.

Yes and no. Yes in that 120 is technically the point at which you unlock everything and that leveling up can get boring, but let's face facts.

Everyone wants to be level 500 and higher. People don't want to stay at a certain level forever. I myself admit to this. After staying at level 180 for almost 4 months, I finally reached 200 in August. It was extremely satisfying and relieving knowing that I was a higher level, while not able to unlock new things, made me optimistic about the future, and finally reaching level 1000.

Rockstar honestly needs to add more content for levels 200, 300, and so on and so forth. 120 shouldn't just be the point at which you unlock everything.

Why capping the rank? It's pointless, it's more pointless than to keep leveling up.

When you see a 200+ rank you know he has played the game for a while, it's like an advisor that you have played a lot and have more experience. If you are a 205 and your friend is 186, is kind of obvious that you have played more, or that you have put more effort in your level than your friend.

In GTA IV Multiplayer, the highest rank was 10. It was a challenge to reach that level, so you had to play a boatload of multiplayer games.

There were so many level 10s that you couldn't tell who was mediocre, who was actually good, who was really good, and who was just so ridiculously good, they must be modd'n.

Point is, that caps only cap the caps of those that cap the caps. Otherwise, capping would cap the caps that wouldn't cap in the cap place.

See?

No. Btw the final unlock is 10 armor spots in your inventory at level 135.

I'd love to see that increment up as well. Along with health or ability to withstand damage. You have to figure a level 500+ would be like a super-soldier who sh*ts bullets and eats glass for breakfast.

There is absolutely zero reason for the game cap to go beyond 300 IMO. I select that number because it's more than double the current maximum and that leaves more than enough room to implement further additions that require rank over the next couple years.

As it stands now I get kicked often from joining random things solely based upon my rank. Playing casually since release will do that. I also caught a lot of my rank because getting my race wins back then was only possible on Criminal Records and Down the Drain, infamously used to "grind ranks" because of the World Record RP glitch.

If 120 was the level cap I would be playing this game A LOT less. I enjoy the sense of progression. I'm still accomplishing something by leveling up my character.

I wish I could hide mine in PvP lobbies. They think I'm some amazing hacking machine that will god mode through the entire match. I joined the event playlist last night and some guy was really hating on my rank. However, I'm going through a real bad luck time on the game, I couldn't kill a flea with an RPG if I wanted to.

I'm also tired of the idiots that even though they ranked themselves up on Rooftop Rumble, they still expect me to be some amazing PvP goddess, even though a great chunk of my RP comes from blowing up the Vagos with my Buzzard in CCO III! Duh!

I'm one of these Level 10's from GTA IV. Earned it legitimately in 2009. Team Deathmatch was too easy on that game. Just give me an M4 with the Deathmatch area at the Airport and I'm all good.

I also disagree web you stated you had to play a boatload of games in GTA IV Multiplayer to reach Level 10. Hangman's NOOSE for two weeks or so helped out quicker if you had good teammates and they wouldn't always wreck the Chopper or kill Petrovic

lol at this guy ^^^

The "One important reason" is Shark Cards. R* wants players to keep playing, so they put the level cap at 1,000.....

You people, whenever you have a "WHY" question about GTA online... the answer is (99.9% of the time) "Because of Shark Cards".

Sorry, but those are the facts. All you have to do is use a little bit of brain power and you will start to see and realize that I am right. go ahead, start asking yourself why things are a certain way in GTA online and it will always boil down to shark cards

Yeah, I have to say I mostly raced so it made ranking up verrrrrrrry slow. I should have done more HNoose and Cops&. I miss those. :)

instead i woud opt for more special guns on ranks beyond 120 that can be countered but yet give in sertain situations the clear advantage, like the rpg and minigun do

ps: i woudnt be sad to if each 150 levels you can get youreself an extra property :)

imagen at 150 able to have 3 propperties and at 300 4, at 450 5 properties, at 600 6 properties and so on :O

seriously, they urgently need to do something for the big levels

as a level 394 i look in my session now and i see 10 people higher then level 120

thats 2/3th of this session, and im also excluding me btw

they need atleast something each 100th level to keep those people bussy

best thing woud be something like that happening when heists come out and heists coming out before januari :)

Yes actually. I dislike being a high level. All that happens is you get kicked from jobs. Especially Deathmatches.

No.

Since when R* release higher level unlocks someday to keep higher ranked players interested in the game, people who capped their rank would Bitch and Moan about R* even though they create the problem for themselves.

If you want to cap your rank, stop playing.

A lot of us are addicts and want to get something out of playing, it a nice but small reward and it keeps people playing which allows us higher levels to at least play along ..

Cap it and no one would bother playing, there is a strategy and reasoning behind it .. pretty obvious if you ask me ..

and No.
