The Most Awkward Running Animation

Recommended Posts

Judicious 7

Who, out of all the GTA protags has the most awkward running animation?

I really should have a poll for this, but I think we all know them by now. This is kind of difficult for me to decide, but I would have to say that it's a split between CJ & Tommy Vercetti. Luis is the runner-up in my book.

Seriously, who runs like that? Lol

Luis is awkward. The best imo is still Franklin.

Luis, hands down. He runs like he has to take a sh*t.

Luis. It's like he's trying to do a somersault but doesn't know how to start.

Tommy runs like some 1920's cartoon, but Luis stands alone...

Johnny's is pretty labored and odd, but the game implies it's because of an injury sustained from a bike crash prior to the game.

Luis or Johnny. With Johnny, it's kinda to be expected since it's implied he's been in a lot of accidents, but Luis, as Ermac pointed out above me, looks like he's sh*tting his pants.

Claude's running anim is BY FAR the weirdest but it makes him even more awesome!

Johnny runs like he has something stuck up his ass

I can run around the entire map of Vice City with Tommy. He is fast as hell

Luis animation is maybe kinda weird, but it's nothing compared to Tommy Vercetti, whose running animation is utterly odds and doesn't feel realistic at all.

I think Luis has been spending time in the clubs dancing too much. He was standing in the same pose for a couple of years and he got stuck that way.

Or he was Trevor's hockey coach when T shoved the stick up his butt.

Wow, i didn't know that. That explains why he runs so awkwardly.

Luis. Seriously, his running animations is a mix of him having to take a large sh*t and him being massively constipated.

I think all the GTA IV trilogy protagonists had awkward running animations. Niko sprints like he's got a pole shoved up his arse, Johnny like he's got a REALLY sore back, and well I guess I'll just say Luis is a combination of those two.

Tommy's was a pretty awkward and cartoonish one as well, especially with the speed he could run at.

Niko runs like he shat in his pants. By the other hand, Luis runs like a normal beefy person.

No, he dosen't. In fact, he looks like Tommy when he runs, and Tommy was cartoonish as f*ck.

Claude ran like a cartoon, Niko runs like he needs to take a sh*t and Luis runs like he has a stick up his ass.

Michael's WALKING animation gets an honorable mention.

Tommy runs like some weird cartoon character so I'd say his running animations is the weirdest. Though it can be overlooked if we take into account the overall arcady feel of the game and some other character animations (like the fat man running).

But Luis has it when it comes to standing animation.. what the hell were they thinking when they made that?

Luis doesn't look so bad in the back, but if you put the camera in front of him he looks weird as sh*t. Although I like his running animation while he's holding a two-handed weapon.

Trevor's running animation is a bit weird too.

Michael's WALKING animation gets an honorable mention.

This. 1000 TIMES THIS. That's why I use Michael in action most of the times, I just hate that animation. His idle gets another mention.

Luis' run is pretty awkward for a guy who's in good shape like he is. Claude and Tommy's running do look a bit odd looking back now, but that's to be expected when compared to games like GTA IV and GTA V which obviously have much more fluid animations and physics.

I think Claude had the worst running anim EVER. He ran like he was inbred or something, really odd. Imo, CJ, Toni and Vic had the best running anim, they all used the same one.

Yeah, right?

I get maybe they wanted to make the characters feel different, but that isn't slumped middle-age posture , that's a cro-magnon knuckle-dragger slouch.

I don't know where he learned to run but he learned to do it pretty damn fast! He can outrun a sports car on foot!

Of course you'd hate him, Billy.

But seriously, it's implied he was in an accident before the events of TLAD.
