I can confirm on my case, being called in to my job a lot as of late. I work retail so early mornings doing truck and covering closing shifts have gotten in the way.

Our apologies for the slight shift in the date but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be. Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans. Believe me, it's easy to persuade yourself that you'll have a finished project by the time you set, but unexpected setbacks pop up constantly. Instead of waiting around, just give them time. Focus on something else other than this mod. If you really have nothing else to focus on, that's sad. The mod will release before you know it. Just stop waiting around solely for it.

Believe me, it's easy to persuade yourself that you'll have a finished project by the time you set, but unexpected setbacks pop up constantly.

You hit the nail on the head, I'm so sorry to keep you guys waiting. I will give one big reason for the constant jumps in the release date: Me. I'm terrible at managing big projects, and I don't want my inability to stick to a schedule to reflect poorly on the other dedicated folks who've put so much into this mod.

 

I haven't been keeping the rest of the team in check. The most complete build of the mod is in my hands, and that's mainly because I have an obsession with trying to do a lot on my own, which has proven to be a major weakness of mine. The files are also set up in such a way where it's difficult to keep our FTP updated, so when something does get done, there's always a delay until everyone can test it and provide feedback. To add to this, the fall release date was promised when I had a lot of free time on my hands and was confident that I could polish our work to an acceptable standard in time. Now that I have a job and started working out some personal issues, I've inadvertently began to distance myself from the internet and modding work. My focuses have changed, I'm sure everyone's has this time of year.

 

I've been sweating trying not to imagine the backlash from all the delays, and it's a relief to see that things aren't as bad as I thought they'd be. You guys are awesome for being so patient, but disappointing people is painful no matter what. The mod will come soon, and a trailer sooner. I know this initial launch has been a very rocky process, but getting the mod out there will be a huge relief for all of us and will guarantee time for the team to reorganize and get updates out at a more consistent, relaxed pace.

no it's not -- it makes the topic unnecessarily cluttered and you can simply just edit your original post anyway. the best thing to do in this situation is to just wait. i'm sure that the GTA3D team don't enjoy seeing clutter either.

At least we've survived to the point where the mod is nearly done. Patience is a bliss in this case.
