I know this is old but u mean GTA VC Alpha that had the under cover fbi guy as a protagonist?

I doubt he means that. There isn't enough information about said alpha stage to create a mod from it. Sure, you can make a new protagonist, call him an FBI agent, and give him some missions, but that wouldn't be a beta mod. It's more akin to an original total conversion.

 

I remember a guy who posted the whole story maybe u can get help from it but u are right it's more akin to a total conversion! oh and Sergiu I think u should update the op with more pic's and update's :)

What does Melted have to do with anything. If anything be granted to him it's bringing the base members of this mod together. Some post above with the quote "MeltedSUX" I was just curious. Not important.

We haven't been working on that I'm afraid :/ I was so annoyed by the tools (most kam's scripts) that I wanted to write something better. Sadly that didn't go anywhere yet but I've not forgotten it, it's just on hold right now, too many things to do (at least I have a basic dff importer using librw for 3ds max and can sort of import IDEs/IPLs). Of course whoever doesn't mind the tools could work on it :D

My opinion is his skin and eye's need some work other than that everything look's outstanding!

Exemplify. We used a slightly newer reference for the eyes. The model itself is a blend between 4 or so designs. For exanple, we're not doing the Elvis hair. We'll stick to spikes only.

The skin needs to be made slightly paler, true.

That was due to the lack of an actual eyeball texture. We first tried that design but it looked horrid. For the sake of the fans and even a few of ourselves - we're thinking about adding a secondary player skin without sideburns and with Chinese eyes. :p Edited by Sergiu

You guys have made great work with many unclear renditions of Claude. The new one looks great, but you guys will come back with a better one soon enough.

Nice progress, I am like a vulture flying in circles looking for more progress in this amazing Mod, I love the new face of claude, Sure, i know is still WIP but this looks great already,I will wait with patience to see the final product, I am happy to see that Mr Jago is back.

Beta Claude is in that weird spot where westerners think he looks like an oriental, and orientals think he looks like a Mexican :lol: .

We, too, thought that he looks a bit Mexican (does in the G shots as well, looking Chinese in some other versions.

Thing is, we'll make his face paler soon. I think that also affects his look, big time.

From my overall analysis with those 2 weeks of heavy Claude work - I came to this conclusion:

 

There we TWO main versions during the alpha. One with sideburns and rather open eyes and one with huge eyelids and possibly no eyeball in the texture and no sideburns.

We're currently thinking about making two possible versions so that people can choose which one they like. :)

Couldn't resist. I had to share this amazing shot I took while playing. Still WIP.
If you'd like to ask why the shoes are clipping, the answer is simple - they were like that in the alpha, actually.

Anything coming up soon?

Lots of stuff in the works, most of it too WIP to be worth showing. Have an old cutscene test in the meantime:

That head is actually perfectly rigged and exported, the only problem is that the .anm format stores bone positions too, so moving them to fit the face didn't work so good...
