Did the person who typed that not play Vice City? The implication was pretty damn clear. Then again they didn't pay attention to GTA III either since (jokingly) Head Radio is described as "the rock of Liberty City for over 60 years".

The Dyablo has been added to the game, painstakingly remade by Son of Big Boss! This ride comes in a variety of colors thanks to Serg's carcols overhaul, but I think we'll need a video to show the full scope of that.

AG has been hard at work tinkering with the frontend and cameras (which you can see in guard's video), and with aap's help, we now have a 100% accurate player camera in-game, as well as a somewhat unwieldy E3-style dashcam.

 

Thanks to these changes, we can now do 1:1 remakes of the original alpha screenshots. Now the current plan for my side of the work is to get everything seen in these screens in-game, compare screenshots to the official ones, and tweak my work to get it 100% accurate. This means the next update will have...

And new props, as well as all of the radio stations and whatever else gets done by then. Many tweaks have also been done on the vehicle models to fix bad driver/passenger positions and other bugs, but I guess that can wait for now.

Not gonna lie, the screens look pretty damn close! Though I noticed that the lensflare isn't proportional in the original pics. Little nitpick but eh 😛

Good job though, this is just insanely good! :)

i disagree on your opinion on Mac, watcha gonna do?

 

But getting mods to run on the official ports (Mac App Store or Steam) is very hard or impossible. i couldn't find a way to get those ports to accept *any* changes

best bet is getting a wine/cider wrapper  (just google "wine wrapper gta3 mac") and put a vanilla install of gta3 there yourself.

 

then the issue with mods can be that you need to find a needed dll file and put it to the root folder of the gta install (where the exe is)

 

 

i can try to make an (un)official wrapper for gta3d, but i cant promise when and if i start on it

What? So you're saying that you disagree with my opinion, but at the same time complaining about MAC's modding potential? How clever. Anyway if you think that I'm criticize MAC for no reason you're wrong. I was using MAC for a while and as an experienced MAC OS user I'm telling that your only option to get this mod running is installing windows via boot camp or virtual machine. Wine wrappers won't help you, your best result with wrappers will be never ending loading screen. But if you still want to try it's up to you good luck with it.

Is this really the place for  it?

Anyway, I think he disagrees because he finds that Macs are good/better for stuff other than modding, as modding isn't the reason someone buys a Mac.

when i was still in school i had a macbook only, and i got mods to run on it, for years. III, VC and SA. 

You may be right that gta3d is not possible (or at least as easy) to install on mac, but thats most likely because of the dll issues i wrote before. i was able to get pretty much any mod i wanted (except renderhook) to work. Cleo, Asi loaders, modloader, everything worked pretty fine. I still mainly play GTA on linux over wine, and even that works with mods.

 

 

and yes, Gerald Ford got my point, nothing to add there.

Read the file and watched this but an unhandled exception (c0000096) addressed at 00581ea5 keeps popping out if full-screen optimizations are disabled. If executed "enabling" full-screen optimizations, the exception changes to c0000005 addressed at 000581ea3.

In other words: I can't open gta3d.exe

Not really anything major for now but development on the mod has been resumed. Mr Jago has fixed all vehicles and as such there will be no more visual oddities related to them. That was done without changing anything on the model's mesh itself that would change its look.

As for new vehicles, the Fishing Boat has been added into the mod. Originally made by Jinx and with some tweaks by the team later on.

What is next? Well, we are looking into experimenting further. We have worked on a new timecyc and carcols and now we plan on changing the prelight for the entire map to have brighter values, in an attempt to make the mod look as accurate as possible! Besides that, a big focus on Redlight East and Trenton will soon begin. 

 

 

This is just some random gameplay I came up with to show the cockpit cam and the new player cam in motion for you guys to see instead of through screenshots. 

*Nothing new that hasn't been seen before appears here.

Daaaaaaaaamn.

 

I'd like to point out that the PS2 version of the game might have some unused code snippets. It's probably been pointed out before but still. Good luck guys :)
