Just wanted to thank everyone for voting us best TC! Sorry... I've been a little busy and forgot. :p 

 

 

Now for something a little different. With the mod released the team now has some breathing room, so I've taken the time to learn how to do motion capture and biped animation in 3DS Max (big thanks to @xxnooblyxx(temp ban) for giving me some pointers there). My hope is that once we have missions up and running, we can make new cut-scenes for the characters that will be added to the mod. Here is an extremely rough motion capture test done with a Kinect V2, maybe some of you will find it interesting.

With that being said, the map has received some small updates since release. There will be more to talk about soon, stay tuned. :)

Oh yeah, we have to adapt quite a few missions to their original concepts or to the map changes. 

 

That plus brand new missions and cutscenes for that one bum down in the tunnel. ;)

I've seen a few versions of the missions. Will be interesting to see how you guys do it.

Well, they want to update Darkels existing model to match the rendered screenshot, which can take a while.

This whole thing is gonna take a while. Each character has to be remade and such so there is no clear date in mind. 

 

You have that, restoring the beta mobile source mission objectives, new cutscenes... Lengthy.

 

You will most likely see update packs related to map, cars, peds and such before the big story update.

I was going to say this, because with the changes in the map you have to change the missions so that you do not end up giving problems with the compatibility of the missions so that you would have to change the script of the game. This mod has everything to be incredible.

They don't need to. The dismemberment is enabled anyway.

in GTA III's development, dismemberment was always a feature, but it was disabled for the PS2 release, due to 9/11.

Would be exiting to see how mocap with Kinect works out. I always found it an interesting concept, but I have however always been advised against it in favour of a bigger investment. So I'm definately looking forward to seeing more of it in GTA III and how a full cutscene would look like.

The notice-able restrictions with Kinect is flexable poses. but, these can be worked around with manual animations. (you could even use the 3DS Max motion files to your advantage, using the Motion Mixer tool, if you need to.)

The mod is not directly supported on Mac OS. Try running it in Wine if you want it to work.

All you have to do is to drop the Audio from vanilla III. The disc 2 error should come from that.

All you should do first is do a backup of gta3 app somewhere. Then right click the app and view package contents. Then find the folder where gta3 is, delete everything except the audio folder. Then extract the gta3d archive over it and rename gta3d.exe to what the original exe was. If that doesn't work, you need to copy the contents of the app and use Wine to run.
