Mr Mean Swag
I have an xbox 360 elite with HDMI out and of course I have the composite AV cable as well. I have an HDMI monitor that I want to play on, but there are no speakers built in. I connect the HDMI from the xbox to my monitor and I have video, but no sound. Is there an adapter for the AV cable, or an adapter I plug into the AV cable slot on the back of the xbox, that will allow me to plug 3.5mm headphones/speakers in? I hope I explained this sufficiently as I just want to get audio, thanks! EDIT: So I did some searching and there is an audio adapter and stereo cables like this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Turtle-Beach-TBS-0100-01-Ear-Force-Xbox-360-Audio-Adapter-Cable-Xbox-360/24105621 and http://www.ramelectronics.net/product.aspx?zpid=248 Now if I buy those two items, plug the composite adapter in, then plug the stereo cable adapter into the inputs, I should be able to plug my 3.5mm headphones in and get audio right? Or because I'm using HDMI is there some other audio adapter I need to use? Edited October 4, 2014 by Mr Mean Swag
uNi
Are you sure the monitor doesn't have audio out? Look for a headphone port.
eltan2481
I have an elite, that's exactly the setup I used when I initially ran my xbox with a monitor and external speakers (although my adapter had a male end, so I had to buy an additional female to female connector). The only thing is I remember that Xbox adapter coming with the elite.
