First Test: 2015 Lampadati Furore GT

The Understated Grand Tourer That Mixes Views

0_0.jpg

There's something about the Maserati GranTurismo that just pulls you in. You're well aware of the fact that it's impractical, cramped, low-tech, overpriced, and that there are better cars out there (on paper) for the money and yet you still want one in your garage. There is something unique about it that all of the other cars don't have. And even though it does lack a smart key access system, a push start stop button, and a proper interface, it just has that extra bit of oomph that makes it feel worth it. Well the exact same goes for the 2015 Lampadati Furore GT.

Lampadati, compared to other automakers, was typically known as that little Italian brand from Bologna which of whom produced luxurious saloons and cabriolets for vapid women in their 50's. In other words, it was unexciting Grotti (their parent company) easily outshadowed them. They hadn't produced a proper sporty GT car in nearly 50 years (in reference to the Pigalle) and the brand was growing stale. That's where the Furore GT steps in. And it does it's job well by spicing the brand up and bring in more sells from a different crowd. But is it a good car? That's fairly subjective. You'll find out why soon.

0_0.jpg

First things first, the looks on this car are ravishing. Almost every line is as sleek, as curvy, and as seductive as possible and the end result is an absolutely sexy grand tourer that couldn't have come from anywhere but Italy. Mine, I'll nickname it GTTYUPV8, came in Blu Sofisticato with beautifully sculpted Dark Steel wheels and needless to say it all looked sexy on the already beautiful Furore GT.

The front end is downright menacing and absolutely gorgeous with big swooping lines and fitting black accenting whilst the side profile is more refined and a little less ostentatious without taking away from the design. The rear end is almost too gorgeous to describe with words. There are beautifully placed curved lines everywhere that result in an ultra-modern yet ultra-classy Italian rear end with a very Italian-y stance. Admittedly, it does annoy me that there is barely even a trunk. But in the end, who cares? This is not a grocery getter, it's a grand tourer and at least it does manage to fit one (maybe two) suitcases in the boot for those lengthy trips you'll be tempted to take.

0_0.jpg

Speaking of lengthy trips, that's what this car was made for right? For some odd reason, others will disagree. Often times whenever a new expensive sports car comes out (whether it be a sporty coupe, a grand tourer, or just a sports car) people expect it to do everything no matter what it is. Even grand tourers, the understated class that is relatively known for decent but not great performance. So you guessed it, this car received a lot of backlash for it's performance simply because it didn't perform like a super car. But that is okay because that makes this car just a little bit more special.

It isn't the fastest grand tourer and there are faster grand tourers out there for a little less (Rapid GT) but speed isn't what this car isn't about. It is about getting you from point A to point B in style. It's about taking lengthy, luxurious trips to the South of France. And when you get there and realize that you forgot something at your lofty penthouse you'll be more than happy to take the drive back home and then back to the South of France. Yeah, it's for that kind of stuff. Catch my drift? It does grand tours and it does them well.

On a different note, handling isn't the sharpest and at times feels weighty (I mean the GranTurismo isn't the lightest car, it's construction is pretty low-tech with a high use of steel and low use of aluminium) but the Furore GT is still a joyful car to drive. Whipping it around corners never gets old and when you just want to calm down and relax, it can get you around a corner softly and luxurious too. On the freeway it is quiet and tranquil. Whilst it is relatively smooth and somewhat soft sprung, it is a bit harsh on the bumps (but so is the GranTurismo). And braking, which you'll have to do a lot of on any freeway in Los Santos, is inconsistent. Slamming on the brakes will jolt you to a stop almost instantly yet easing on the brakes sometimes doesn't stop you soon enough. And yes, it does stick out in traffic like a sore thumb. All of it's details and seductive lines make almost anything around it look and feel cheap.

0_0.jpg

Speaking of details, this car has a lot of them inside and out. Exquisite carbon fiber can be found here and there, although the Furore GT doesn't need an excessive amount of it as it already looks exquisite on it's own. You will find carbon fiber wrapped around the angular mirrors, the swooping lines of the rear diffuser, and on part of the front splitter.

0_0.jpg

In the front there are beautiful bi-xenon led head lamps and in the back are blindingly bright, and drop dead gorgeous, full led tail lamps. Also, Lampadati did a good job blending in the turning signal lights and the back up lights with the tail lamp design, a really good job.

6a4U3C8.jpg

Inside, you'll find black leather almost everywhere you look, all French-Stitched together with exquisite orange stitching. I personally would prefer Ivory leather, but black looks decent. Everything else is beautifully appointed with both carbon fiber and brushed aluminium trim, brushed aluminium pedals, a brushed aluminium gear selector (please ignore the fact that it looks like a manual, this car should an automatic), a 7-inch infotainment screen surrounded by more brushed aluminium, brushed aluminium Bose speaker grills (there are 9 hifi speakers and tweeters by the way), beautiful white gauges, and two back seats that can only fit those who've had their legs amputated. It all fits the car relatively well. It's the ideal interior for long, luxurious journeys.

0_0.jpg

What's so special about this car though? It's the way it makes you feel when you drive it. Taking it down a winding road, listening to the beautiful high revving exhaust note whilst admiring all of it's detail is simply bliss. You're well aware of how impractical and how flawed it may seem compared to other cars but you don't care. This car sucks you in and takes you away to a very special place.

0_0.jpg

The 2015 Lampadati is a very pricey car and a very heavy car, yet it is an average performer (on paper). But performance doesn't matter with this thing. It's a relaxing and unique grand tourer that just feels better than all of the other cars, even if it's not (on paper). If you don't like it now, give it a little time and it will grow on you. Believe me . . .

I've already blown up like ten of these cars on free roam. Noobs just cruising around in their new overpriced peice of scrap that moves thinking that they're the sh*t. I pull up on them in my Massacro and punish them with a sticky bomb. It's the funniest when they think they can out run me only to be caught and cornered rather quickly. Yeah the Furore GT IS different from other cars as they put up a better fight when I'm chasing them down.

Just to let you know, I love the Massacro. I have one myself and think it's the better car. But I still love the Furore GT too.

Oh, and another thing. Nobody cares about what you do to the owners of these cars in GTA:Online you immature, low life, pathetic little kid. I couldn't care less, I don't even play GTA:O that much, the car you see above is in SP.

Calm down man. It's just a virtual vehicle no need to resort to name calling. It shows you're even more immature by going that route when I was obviously just joking. I honestly haven't seen any Furore GT's in online (probably for good reason )

Such a great car, love the cars that are actually fun to drive and not just on rails the whole time and turn on a dime. That's no fun its way too easy.

So the steering isn't bad like the rapid GT? That's good I guess. Also it's not that I can't afford it, I don't have access to my PS3 atm.

No I don't, I think it's too over priced for the way it performs and given its lack of modifications, my Massacro is actually my favorite car. The part I took exception to was you trying to act like a badass, talking about running down "like ten of them" an blowing them up, then backtracking as if it were a joke when you realized no one else thought you were cool. You say you blew up ten, then in your response you say you haven't actually seen a single one, you're a troll.

It's a nice car but feels a bit underpowered. It looks good enough but is overpriced.I'm going to get a grand tourer and i think the Carbo might be the better car.

In my opinion, every car in V had bad steering unless it's a classic, an SUV, a Coquette, or a Massacro.

This may have been asked already but I can't be bothered looking through 12 pages.

Has anyone bought this car mainly for the reason that it kind of resembles the new Toyota GT-86?

I'm a Toyota lover as my signature suggests :pp and I'm thinking about getting this car but I don't know if it performs anything like the GT-86 IRL so if someone could give me a rough idea on how it takes the corners, accelerates, how it handles at high speeds, If it can drift and if the clutch kicking technique works with it (stock or if it has to be upgraded) it would be really appreaciated.

IMO, If it shares resemblance to any car other than the Maserati Alfieri concept, it's most likely a Mazda.

As far as performance, it accelerated like there's 20 sleighs in the back (0-60 in 6 seconds I think), but it can reach 155 MPH and, it feels like it has a sh*tton of BHP. (not in the stats). Not much torque either. As for handling, you'll lose a lot of speed in corners as it goes over sidewalks like a duck with down syndrome.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I'm well aware of the fact that this section is full of a bunch of spammy kiddies and I thought you were one of them.He definitely is, if that was sarcasm or a joke it was one of the lamest attempts that I've ever seen.

So I take it you also own the Furore GT and got butthurt at a playful joke?

You're not very funny.

Thanks :) thats all I needed to hear. I'll be getting one of these soon, My wingless Massacro is getting too easy to handle.

I like a challenge, When you overcome challenges/obstacles you learn to use those weaknesses as strengths when they're needed and that's exactly what I done with my Massacro, cornering that beast is now as easy as doing to U-Turn in a Penumbra (That car has the best understeer/oversteer balance in the game).

Assuming that it's suspension is as wonky as your making it out to be I'll have a good time taming this car.

Edit: I'm your go to guy for Toyota's not Mazda's :D what Mazda does it resemble.

IMO it has a few small characteristics of the Rx-8

I see what your getting at, I'm seeing a slight resemblance in the body shape, a bit in the curve of the roof and some in the way the exhaust tips are shown the only difference being that the RX-8 has dual single exhausts and the Furore GT has dual shotgun exhausts.

First Test: 2015 Lampadati Furore GT

The Understated Grand Tourer That Mixes Views

In the front there are beautiful bi-xenon led head lamps and in the back are blindingly bright, and drop dead gorgeous, full led tail lamps. Also, Lampadati did a good job blending in the turning signal lights and the back up lights with the tail lamp design, a really good job.

Believe me . . .

- 9/10

Let's go a deathmatch later with restricted weapons, no sticky bombs, no rpg, no f*cking explosive sh*t, only normal weapons for see who's the better player you little sh*t, i know you're one of those bitches that never come out of your tank or jet to take players down on foot.
