The European PS store seems to contain a new pre-order page that gives us some new insight into how large GTA V's file size will be on PS4. The description states that there is a minimum save size of 50 GB. If this is to be believed, it would mean GTA V will be the biggest PS4 game to date in terms of file size, at ~50 GB. Currently, the largest PS4 game is Wolfenstein: The New Order, coming in at 46.9 GB, and a 48 GB minimum save size.

Also, motion gameplay confirmed?

"A PlayStation Move navigation controller or Wireless Controller will be required for motion control features."

Perhaps we might be playing real motion tennis with our controllers, like on the Wii ! :D

The preorders with this description should be up in Europe.

The Last of Us has a 50GB install on the PS4. Im sure GTA5 will be a large install but these installs on games are part of the reason I'm staying away from the new gen for as long as possible. It already takes like 10-15 minutes for a 6gb install on my PS3.

So now I have to wait 4+ hours for a mandatory install, that's insane to me.

The Last of Us Remastered does not have an install size of 50 GB. If you look at its page on the PS store, it says 43.5 GB. I had the game installed to my PS4 and I remember that it was not 50 GB.

Also, the PS4 installs games extremely quick from the disc. Mere minutes, in fact.

^not a ps4 game.

Oh I know, and it was still 50GB. Now they are starting to do it when it should have been happening with the PS3. So PS4 Games I expect to be even larger. But yeah sorry I was just kind of throwing in some randomness.

Edit: now that I think about it, it's not really hard to believe considering there's like 10 hours worth of cutscenes.

Well... 50GB without the possible free DLC updates.

So, we can expect more that 60gb...

Man... With drive club, metal gear v, the crew, project cars, assassin's unity and maybe sleeping dogs my HD won't hold 10 games...

I will wait until the 2tb Hds have a nice price. Until the end of ps4 life, even 1tb won't be enough. And all my games are physical... Imagine if was digital too..

Yeah but, why would you have all of your games installed onto your HD, wouldn't you just uninstall the ones you don't play anymore? I mean come on, who plays more than 10 games at a time? 500 GB will be plenty for me. I will just uninstall the games I don't play anymore.

@daltontigerboy

Yeap, you're right!

I've just forget that the ps4 is very fast when compared to ps3 and the endless instalation time.

I had some bad moments uninstalling the old games from my psplus (i don't have it anymore). some games with 15gb took me more than 20 minutes to be erased.

@fefenc

The install have exactly 8487mb. But we have something like 1gb of add ons.

now remember there is probably uncompressed audio on this disc. that could be what the large size relates to.

posted this in the other thread by mistake opps

What I find mad is Last Of Us only made it upto 43-48GB in size because it had 1080p rendered cutscenes in the game all throughout which they reused from the ps3 version as they were already in a high enough quality before being scaled down for PS3.

Last Of Us has about what 90mins worth of 1080p cutscenes that would be a huge chunk of the 43GB I reckon heck a 2hr movie on bluray is something around 35-40 gb.

GTAV does not do anything like that all the cutscenes are in game so to have a file size of around 50GB for a remaster is just jaw droping I cannot wait to get my hands on it :lol:

Watchdogs :miranda: is around 22GB the only thing on PS4 right now thats compareable.

Tomb Raider PS4 was 18GB that used ingame cutscenes and its a similer game setup to the Last Of Us as in it is a straight path through the game.

I think without those cutscenes Last Of Us would have ended up around that size 18-20GB

It will be interesting to see what size Sleeping Dogs ends up at in file size

So.. It has jumped from 9GB to 50GB? Holy f*cking crap, I don't believe a few grass on the map and some HD textures can put 40GB on the game, R* must have improved the NPCs AI and added some more lil' details and tweaks :D:D:D

Can't wait for the PC version... Literally...

Maybe more map hahahahahaha

No, now seriously, maybe new interiors on buildings, car high detailed interiors, more customization parts, more clothes, cars and bikes (new ones and all from gtaiv and episodes) and these things.

I'm assuming that the new animals, cars, weapons, 100 new radio songs, possibly new NPC models will be contributing to the size. Also, isn't the CG version supposed to have all the previously released DLC from the LG versions? Higher resolution textures are probably the biggest culprit, though.

Edit: forgot to mention all of the new detailed car interiors, that's gotta take up a good amount of space :D

It's a good thing I have a 2TB hard drive in my PC then. For the game to be at least 50GB there must be extremely detailed car models and high resolution textures. I'd imagine all the DLC's would also increase the total size as well.

Cheers.
