Yankton could be the location for the first online heist mission.

you start at the airport in LS and hop on a plane.

after the heist you have to make your way back to the Choppah, before being gunned down by the cops or some other dudes who set ya up.

Does sound kinda familiar, but think it would be fun.

North Yankton was fun and Rockstar missed a huge opportunity, but I have no doubt that Rockstar is just getting started with their ever-expanding world for us.

I had fun going to North Yankton with some friends back then. Even though all it had was just some boring little town, it was really enjoyable to explore, mainly because it was something new to all of us and it was a nice change of pace from the usual Los Santos map, plus I think the fact that it was covered in snow was really cool. I'd love to see them bring it back with a fully finished map, with Ludendorff plus maybe another small town and an airstrip, and the dense forest that everyone wanted for the V map (imagine the snowy part of Tall Trees from RDR, but in GTA V on the new consoles).

 

It was obviously not a complete map, but one of my friends suggested back then that it had too much detail for Rockstar to just use in two missions (mainly the fact that every car gets snow/ice stains, and the character would blow into his hands rub them together as if he was cold if you just sat in the car without moving), and we thought that Rockstar patching the ability to go there was because they probably intended on selling us the map. But who knows if that'll ever happen.

A 'Fargo' inspired GTA taking place there would be pretty awesome, even if it's just an add-on for V. I'm sure that film had to serve as some inspiration for North Yankton (even though it took place in Minnesota, not North Dakota. I think it's the same with the TV series, too).

An actual forest and an airfield would be incredible.

 

They should add properties too.

 

I hope Rockstar takes advantage of this opportunity they have. I'd gladly pay money for a North Yankton expansion.

Dude, its a very well known easter egg. Beneath a bridge that you drive over in the SP mission there is a frozen river, just under the bridge there is this alien frozen in it.

 

I wonder if the Rockstar staff who placed the frozen alien ever thought a player would come across it. NY/Ludendorff is not meant to be accessible and in SP-mode I don't think its even possible to exit ones car without the mission being over.

It's Available 2x in single player, what makes you think the ps3/Xbox couldn't handle it.

I honestly didn't know about this. I'm kind of sad I didn't get a pic next to it.

 

Anyways, I remember the one and only day that I got to visit North Yankton. It was magical as it was the first real snowfall in New Jersey.

There should be a way to get there online. Maybe make it where you can only fly there at certain times in game mode. Suppose like the ferris wheel and roller coaster there are planes that leave and take you to North Yankton. OR you can fly there in a plane.

NY was great, I took my Futo there and spent a good while just sliding like crazy in the snow.

And back at the docks of LS with a snow covered car.

I prefaced to show I acknowledged him. I wanted a thread more about how North Yankton was in online, not a general discussion about all of North Yankton.

And while we're talking about the OP, noticed how I said at least TWICE that the mods could close this because I wasn't quite sure about how this thread might be received. And why would I want to "steal" theNGclan's "thunder"?

 

Maybe instead of being a passive aggressive ass you could maybe, whine to the mods to close this. That wouldn't bother me as much as you and your useless comments, as I said that they could do that if they wished to do so.

Yes, very much so. Was a nice change from the sun and dust.

Would like to think so, had really hoped that the main GTA cities would all eventually appear in Online and North Yankton would be a welcome sideshow.

• What would you do now if you could go there online?

Snow rallying.

• How would you think online missions would work if you could go there?

Some low level missions might work but the only real target is covered in the main game prologue.

• What would you build in North Yankton if you could open content creator there online?

Frozen river bike race.

• What activities do you think would be available online if it was ever opened online, and how would those work?

Ice skating would be a laugh if they were creating new things.

• Do you think having North Yankton online would ever be a possibility?

Again, I would hope to see new cities added over time (Vice and Liberty) and there's no reason North Yankton couldn;t be added, particularly with the transition to the new gen.
