Play the older GTA's and re-use all the cars, guns etc that should be in GTA 5.

 

It worked for me, A few weeks ago I popped in SA and after about 2 days playing GTA was no longer depressing.

A few months ago I felt like I was in the same place you are today, OP.

 

A lot of things people suggested are EXACTLY what I have been doing to keep the game fun and fresh to me.

 

Train Bounties in public free roam, EXPLORING, BMX riding with friends, Content Creator (fly DLC jets without paying those prices) and Photography are all things I have been doing that give me plenty of reasons to keep enjoying this game. Add in making new friends and being part of 3 awesome crews and my GTA slate is pretty full.

 

So in your case, it all comes down to this.... How much do you like this game that you are willing to branch out from what you have been doing and learn more about it? I thought I had seen everything, but I keep finding that everyday there is something new in Los Santos.

it probably started as some running joke at the dev studios on the whiteboard...

 

Dev1: "Lets get them to run around the entire map to kill pigeons"

Dev2: "Huh? That's ridiculous. You think anybody's going to go up and down the map hunting pigeons just to unlock an achievement?"

Dev2: "Okay, what were you thinking, like 20 pigeons?"

Dev1: "No, two hundred."

Dev2: <silence>two dozen?"

Dev2: Well maybe just put them on the island so they are all in one place...

Dev1: No, all over the entire map. Everywhere.

Dev2: "And it's just a fun mission that's optional, right?"

Dev1: No. They have to complete it to get 100% game completion.

I started trying to get all guns lspd tint recently, also friends and a creative mind go a long way. I would recommend panto soccer. Grab a friend, call your liberators and a panto, go to the soccer field and well...you get the idea...

Buy Destiny. I just had Rockstar reset my custom plate so I can come up with a new one and mess around a little when the next update comes around.

 

I just got tired of the missions and I have all the cars I really like. A whole year out of a game is pretty good.

A few times my buddies and I have had too many people in an inv only to do any missions besides judging jury. Sometimes well have between 9-12 people and we play a manhunt style game where 1 person is "it" and has to be killed.

 

simple rules help aide the fun factor during the manhunt to prevent the target from getting too far or basically being almost impossible to kill.

 

rules we use are:

- can only roam the city. No going north past eclipse towers or south below the airport.

- no aircraft or water vehicles. Only cars and bikes.

- target has to go off radar and get as far as possible until the off radar timer runs out. Once the target is visible on the map, you may now chase after the target.

- you can choose to kill other players trying to kill the target. No helping the target, it's just to fight over the winning kill on the target.

- target can fire back and kill anyone

- set a time limit if you want

- weapon limitations if you want

 

can't rly think of anything else off the top of my head but we had some rly good times playing manhunt on gtao.

 

We had one ass hole who was giving us a hard time on Mt chilliad. I had a friend on a sanchez try to ambush him from the top but was quickly sniped out by the target when he was visible in his Los. My friends body dropped to the floor and the sanchez began sliding down the mountain and right into the target. My buddy got the kill for it and weall burst out laughing for at least 5 minutes straight. It was freggin hilarious.

There are many things that can be done in my opinion. Personally, I never get bored of GTA: Online. Hunting bounties can help you pass time and also earn you some money. Armored trucks can be attacked to get some money. Or, what I like doing most... instead of zooming around San Andreas at 150mph, cruise around. Observe the scenery, just drive normally. Or grab an off-road vehicle and hit the mountains, but still keeping the cruise theme going. Climbing a hill at 90mph just to drive off the edge the other side seems pointless unless you want kill yourself

I harass noobs by shooting out their tires... normally this ends in the low level getting trigger happy with their dlc weapons or some white knight showing up or the occasional "I hate you" message but the war afterwards is pretty funny.

Bad idea. It's not as good as it should be at this moment. Although I have faith that they will be fixing their mistakes from here on out...hopefully.

 

 

Anyway OP, see what awards you haven't done and try to do them. For example, the drive for 30 minutes straight without crashing into anything or stopping. That one was...interesting.

It's unfortunate that so many players limit their creativity to what's sewn into the game.

 

You've got an open world sandbox to play in, plus a ton more... here's a two things I recommend:

1. Go out into the world and look for weird, obscure and abstract things you may have overlooked and take a photo of them.

You can share them right here in this thread where we can all appreciate your vision.

2. Go and get yourself a spanky new motorcycles, like a Bati or a Ruffian, and join the world of bike stunting. It seriously changed how I play this game!

Have a siege. Find somewhere that's hard for the cops to reach you properly, like a clothes store or the upper floor of the bank and then get 5 stars. Kill a couple of hundred cops and then try to get away without ringing Lester. Always fun for me!
