What would a female protagonist be like?

Urgh. I guess I'm the only one who would accept a normal woman as a protag, not a crazy bitch, not a hoe or a lesbo. Imagine, a new GTA game with three protags: A husband, a wife and the son. And the whole family would get sucked into the world of crime and would need to run errand for various mob bosses. Wouldn't that be cool?

I clicked on the thread, read the starting post, scorlled down and this was the first thing I saw. I started laughing. Anyway, if R* ever does do a female character, I think she'd probably have similar characteristics to Catalina. Even though I agree 100% with what Drunken Cowboy said, maybe they could make her bi-sexual or even lesbian to please the mainly male fanbase of GTA. The Idea itself seems difficult for R* to implement but despite some of their failures, I trust them to the extent that they mostly try to create unconventional gaming experiences for the fans.

Haha I love this gif! Anyway, I guess I should have thought more about what I said. I should have never mentioned sexuality. I made that comment because I see that increasingly, the people who play GTA are getting younger. I suggested that as a way rockstar could create a game where a female protagonist would be possible and please the growing immature crowd as well because let's face it, more young people will be getting these games and there's nothing we can do to stop it.

 

On another note, nath22 you can shut the f*ck up. I don't see how you haven't noticed the repetitive use of the "69" and other sexual jokes and imagery as well as increasing nudity in the GTA series. If R* catering to "horny 14 year olds that buy GTA" is something that would make you stop playing, you should have stopped a long time ago.

The game would be the same and the protagonist would also be the same as any GTA protagonist so far, a criminal not scared to do what it takes to achieve some personal goal, whatever it may be for that particular character.

It wouldn't have to be some crazy type of character like Catalina, but she would probably have some sort of ''combat training'' background which would serve to explain her strength in melee combat which would match male protagonists.

I don't think a female protag in the scope of GTA would be feasible, or plausible. I once thought it would be okay with strong writing, but I change my mind.

 

Grand Theft Auto does not need a female protagonist. It is fine with a male protagonist. It already works as it is.

 

On top of that, adding a female protag will generate tons more controversy.

There were some in GTA1, however it made no difference to the character model whatsoever.

 

As for what they should be like, pretty much Sarah Connor in T2, there is not another focused female character like her that could fill that space.
