Official General
Nobody hasn`t mentioned the missions yet. The main storyline missions were awesome in V. Very well written scenarios with alot of fun. Just shame that there weren`t enough of them. Only 69 of them was a little disapointing. Even if they were longer than in other games but still, i expected at least 100 of them. Not meaning to be negative, but the reason for that, is that many people on here consider the main storyline to be one of the worst aspects of the game. I think you will find very few people on here who gave the storyline glowing praise like you have.
mjansing82
One of my favorite scores to a mission has to be for the mission "bury the hatchet". That was just awesome. I don't have the oportunity to play V yet but for me the one of biggest pleasures of playing a game is turning on subtitles and enjoying a conversation between two/three main characters, mostly when you have a mission to run from point A to B,like when michael call T a hipster, the story itself on cutscenes are not that big deal, but those little conversations are what makes GTA unique,I used to slow down my car on SA just to hear CJ talking to their friends. MrVance
Well i guess we have diferent tastes then. I think the story was very well written. And i mostly meant the fun aspects of doing the missions with a combination of anticipation of what`s going to come next. I`d say the only two really bad written GTA plots were 3 and SA. With LCS and VCS being average and VC, IV and V being great. IMO at least.

I can`t explain why, maybe i am not so demanding or something else but it really felt interesting to me. mjansing82
I think what has happened with gta 5 is that they changed the formula up a little, people expected something different than what it turned out to be. Sometimes change is hard, especially if the formula was great. I think 5 years down the line people will either finally enjoy it for what it is, or they just won't. But I doubt that they will call this the worst game in the series, maybe average. I personally loved the change I was getting a little tired of the old formula. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy the older games, but it was nice to see and play something different. theworldfamous
Oh, almost forgot about the dynamic mission soundtracks. Minor Turbulence, We Were Set Up, The Third Way, Rampages 1 and 2. I could go on forever. What the game lacks in terms of good radio music, it more than makes up for with the absolutely fantastic score. I'd like to say the exact same thing about Red Dead Redemption, as well. Word. The score is awesome. Reminded me of the herbalizer, which is one of my favourite bands. But it's actually oh no, DJ shadow and that guy who did rdr so it had to be good. Xerukal
Official General
I was looking for some plot thread on liking/disliking V storyline but i didn`t find one. Oh they are here alright, you just need to look and comb through the past threads properly. However, that particular subject has already been discussed to death on this site, ever since it first came out. There are some long-standing ones that are still active, and new ones crop up every now and then. Even in many of the other different subject threads about V on here, there is almost always talk about how weak the storyline is. Anyway this is supposed to be about V's good points, so I won't go any further than that. Edited October 13, 2014 by Official General

CarlitoDorito
I like the missions, some more than others. The story, the characters, Trevor killing Jonathan, the score, how big the map is, the variety in vehicles and weapons, killing a Jonah hill lookalike, the flying, the driving and the shooting. The humour, the torture bit, the lazlow bullying, i like the dlc too, the small details, the big details, the radio and freedom. Absolutely nothing else though! The story is flawed, but it's as flawed as, say, San Andreas, in which other completely unbelievable stuff happens (anything that happens after meeting Truth, for example). Or the porn-studio missions in Vice City. Or the UL Paper missions in IV. And on and on and on. _Klebitz_ 1 Signatures are dumb anyway.

If that's what Mr Vance is saying, then fair enough I respect his comment, even if I don't fully agree with it. SA did not have the best story in GTA, I'll be the first to agree with that. The wacky silly stuff like Mike Toreno's or Truths missions was my worst part of the story, that I really did not like. SA certainly was not my favorite for storyline, but for most part it was just about more than entertaining and interesting enough. SA's storyline was still heavily based on more realistic crime scenarios like gang culture, gang wars, corrupt street cops, drug-dealing, drug trade, mob-run casinos etc. Put it this way, I'd rather pick SA's story over V's without blinking an eye. Back on topic, I forgot to mention the mansions. I love the look of many different wealthy mansions in V, it makes me so mad we could not at least chose one property to buy and own as a safehouse with Franklin. VenomsnakeVII
What are ya'll talking about now. Gta 5 isn't really as innovative as much as ya'll want it to be (and ya'll know that). Yet we treat it as if it is the holy grail of games. Get mad or what the f*ck ever ya'll wanna say, don't really care. I mean i like this game and it is a good example of engineering and pretty decent story. But in truth, and ya'll are not gonna like this and i'm probably gonna get a nuclear payload of sh*t dropped on me. But i'll be damned if my opinion simply can't be stated. This game was executed soooo f*ckin poorly that i felt as if i got slapped in the face and forced to say thank you. It's the same old premise as all the previous gta's but better graphics. (There again thats my opinion). but the only thing going for this game that people keep praising is graphics, immersion, and pretty water. that's it really not trying to start a sh*t storm here but i just don't see where the praise is going to as i look back at what the series once stood for. On-Topic i like the game for what it is but the actual wow factor was there up until the i don't know the 7th mission(after that i didn't know what the hell was the point anymore). One thing i give them props for is the depiction of how many hot topics even though they are parodies of how there is political hypocrisy and the oversaturation of the media, government, and the population in general. but it doesn't go much more further than that as i am forced to hear a sh*tload of hipster trash and horribly written cliches as if i was in the reproduction of 90210. that knocks me back to the realization that i am playing a game. The reason i say this is i play games to have a little escape from work, family, class, and sometimes just for the hell of it. I guess it's the get the hell out of my way, pissed off at the world attitude and glitchy, arcadey controls that remind me i'm playing a game. Mods understand i'm not trying to start a war here but rather trying to state my opinion constructivly and destructivley to avoid ruining what i think is a good topic. Cheers Guys

MrVance
@DarkVII, this sounds like you have some personal vendetta against V lol. I wonder what will V haters say about V on PS4...But there is no need about saying anything because the numbers speak for themselves; GTAV (PS3) 8GB GTAV (PS4) 50GB? Hate that if you can Quantity but also quality. And the QUANTITY of V itself seems to be the main reason why even the most dedicated V haters can`t keep their fingers off of V even if they hate it so much. That`s unique phenomen known for this game only. For every other game is like; "I hate it so i`m not going to play it, period!" but in V`s case is like; "f*ck i hate this game but yet i keep playing it". ChumCrumpet
I think the main reason people come on forums is to vent how much they dislike something. If someone was to comb through this forum they'd think we hated the game, but that's not so. Driving around the city felt great. I loved the highways/motorways to get from and to the city, watching the sun set as I drived the long distances. The country felt amazing, walking through the dense allocation of trees and seeing animals in the distance feeding. Then in the city it gave me the same feel as I got when I first played GTA IV. The city felt alive. Everything feels alive. MrVance and Official General
