Paralysic
The story and the beautiful gameworld. It really feels like a ''feel good'' game to me, and it does actually cure depression sometimes. 10/10 MrVance
Grizzly322
When I first heard before the game's launch, that the map would be around 50% outside the main city (Los Santos) I admit I was a little disappointed. I thought the rural areas would resemble the same areas in GTA3 SA. Which I found incredibly boring and just space between the three cities. However in V, R* came through and removed my doubt as I spend more time while free roam in the Mt Chiliad area. Just hiking and watching wild life next to a waterfall is incredible. With the hiest and protagonist there is so much potential in this game I hope through add-ons and updates it becomes realized
TheGr8Cornholio
I've seen a lot of negativity towards GTA V on this forum, I still don't fully understand why. But that doesn't matter to me because I love GTA V. After I finished the main story, which I love but thought it was WAY TOO SHORT, I spent most of my time exploring and looking at every single detail I found. I gotta say the guys at R* really love the attention to details. I found V's Los Santos as the most alive GTA city I've played in (IV's LC is close). About the characters... I really liked them all, I laughed my ass off after hearing some of their dialogues. I found Lamar's conversations funny as sh*t. I also laughed so much when Michael calls Trevor a hipster. I had such a great time playing GTA V, and I'll sure as hell have a blast playing it on next gen consoles and PC.
Doland J. Trump
As much as I bitch and moan about this game and how much I hate Online, Blaine County is beautiful. I've spent so much more time out there recently and you really need to take some time out there. Especially when it's raining and stormy, it's just great. I just wish R* added some more stuff to it. TrevorEffingPhillips
The entire story. Loved it. Felt like a movie and once I figured out some missions, even when you fail, were just meant to happen it made it even better. I really enjoyed finding all the hidden features, like the one where Trevor (myself) was lured into the dessert and woke up naked on train tracks, or the messages people missed when picking up hitch hikers to invest in stocks... all that cool stuff. I really only like GTA for the single player story, and this one just grabbed me by the nuts as soon as we hit that bank in ludendorff. I mean, who doesn't want to rob a bank? theworldfamous
It doesn't flash +100xp on my screen every time I pick a flower. It doesn't highlight and outline enemies and pickups for me because it assumes I actually look at the screen while playing. It does the obligatory tutorial section for the kids but then gets out of my way as fast as possible. It realizes the player's emotional connection to characters is minimal at best and doesn't try to drag me along in high drama or deep character driven stuff it can't pull off. In this it actually makes the story more memorable. It's not afraid to have an opinion about things and show it, even if it's not the popular mainstream opinion. It doesn't glorify military violence, authoritarian and state powers like some other games. It's the most complete satirization of American and western society ever achieved. Within that it manages to be pretty sharp and mostly on point. As a game it emphasizes fun over outright challenge, making it perfect for long gaming sessions but by being one of the best sandboxes it also delivers fun instantly. It's satisfying to play in the long term (story, discovery, collecting, getting good at it) and the immediate moment while most games are either one or the other. The gameworld feels more like a coherent place than any other. They just lack the touch GTA has, and has always had. I don't know what that is. The series has evolved massively but still retains the appeal that GTA 1 had. It hasn't sold out. It's still basically the same idea on a bigger scale. Official General
Of the few real good things about V, I did like the cars. They looked so sleek and high class. The customization options were great too. I also loved the graphics, the game looked stunning on the PS3, especially at sunset. MrVance
Well it`s really nice to see some positive coments on V for a change. Thanks guys. I was really starting to think that loving V is some sort of tabu on here. But then again i`m someone who love pretty much all GTA series (with an exception of 3)...yeah it is possible to like V and IV at the same time. But V is a little diferent. I can`t really explain how i feel about it but lets just say that playing V is even step forward at relaxing your (mine at least) mind after long day at work. If you don`t feel like going out you just sit at the TV, hop in some super car and speed down the highway in Blaine county. The map and wildlife is beautifull. The open world in it`s true meaning of the word. I can`t wait for V on PS4.
œaœa
I love the game. I honestly can't decide between it and IV; they're both very good for what they are. But here is something that stuck out to me the most.. The ending cutscene of Dead Man Walking, when Michael comes clean to Franklin about the feds and Trevor. It's one of the most memorable cutscenes in GTA history, IMO. Ned Luke and Shawn Fonteno chemistry in that scene was great. FriendlyPsychopath
Many My first GTA was II back in 2001 (PS1) I just fall in love with the game tanks, stars, burping, farting, stealing cars, killing pedestrians. then i got my first PC with a MX 4000 and 256mb and got my first true third person shooter GTA Vice City include everything from II and alot of PLUS like prostitutes, drive on water, fly, minigun, and the best storyline i ever saw. After some years i upgrated my PC to a ATI Radeon 9600 Pro and started playing SA and again containing everything from all other GTA's and plus,Hot Coffe,Jet,Hunter,Gangs( i was inocent back then and don't know that people with the same clothes are from gangs lol),Strong language everything that GTA can offer and GTA teached me something very important that a game can be enjoyable even without the best graphics and thus not making me grow greedy, enjoying gameplay and story above graphics what i like about GTA V - Story - Strong Langague - Torture (R* ain't afraid of sh*) - More options with guns - Parachuting - Bike race - Prostitutes and Strippers - Buy House - Garage - GTA SA tuning - Amazing characters >Trevor< - Old but Gold free-roam - Online gameplay - Level System - Weapon Upgrade System - Change clothes (SA) - Gym (SA) - Tanks (*_*) - Sabre GT (VC) - General Gameplay - Character Switch - Improved Cellphone Edited October 12, 2014 by FriendlyPsychopath MrVance and mjansing82
MrVance
I agree with you @FriendlyPsychopath. I admire R* for having a guts for puting a torture and the most sociopathic GTA protag (Trevor) in the game and they don`t give a sh*t about softie critics. Not that i like to torture (i kind of felt bad in that mission where you need to torture Mr. K so i only used water) but i admire R*`s courage to put GTA games beyond limits. Because after all it`s just a game. As for Trevor, as much as i was sad when he killed Johnny but if i think about it i realize that T is the only GTA protagonist which fits just perfectly in klling&stealing kind of game. A true sociopath who is proud to be a sociopath and honest enough about himself that he doesn`t even try to hide his nature. And the fact that R* didn`t give a f*ck about angering the army of TLMC fans by their writings. They knew the game will be a huge hit anyway. And they were right. Even those devoted V haters are keep playing V. I haven`t met none of these V haters who wouldn`t play V even they hate it tough. They clearly don`t hate it enough to not playing it. I hope you know what am i trying to say. Anyway compliments to R*, they sure know how to making hits. R* is not just famous for that huge a*s map or story, they are mostly famous for not being afraid to use mature content heck they are sued every year by unsatisfied fathers/mothers who don't like they "child" playing it but even so they are still up and every release new features come and more realism and possibilities,if companies hold back just because some blood here and there there will be no meaning at all for the word mature content. about being just a game, well some people don't know the difference I played GTA for 13 years and don't killed a single person, burned a dog, robbed someone or a bank. MrVance
Exactly. If one gets so under the influence of violence in the game then they should stay away from video games. Besides you can play good guy outside of missions if you want. V is the only GTA so far where i don`t mow peds or kill them just like that outside those missions.. Because the world feel so alive that you actually feel bad about yourself if you kill some NPC for no reason. That`s one of the pinpoints which show that the game is made very good. The graphics, textures, voices and AI of NPC`s made this game very alive. In older GTA games i had no problem hiting peds for fun or shooting them because they were too cartoonish to feel alive. But in V i actually feel bad when i accidently hit someone with a car because they feel so alive. That kind of feeling was present in RDR as well. And this is when your real life character reflects at. But you got to take game as game and if some video game fills you up with rage which comes up in real life world, then there is something wrong with you. And even being a teenager isn`t excuse for that.
Omega_Is_Here
Ocean,Scubadiving, shipwrecks, treasures, sharks! I mean i just LOVE how i get scared when a shark spots me deeeep down the ocean where there's no escape,or go deep down the ocean till there's no light and get freighted ! Although i'm disappointed there's no rare Megalodon or giant squid or other scary giant sea creature that will kill the protagonist and give the player a heart attack while swimming underwater... However in the next gen trailer they showed hammerhead sharks swimming witch really exited me and hopefully they will add a giant scary sea creature that will PULL YOU DOWN and RIP YOU TO SHRED when you go deep down in the ocean darknessss MrVance

jimbo1a
Where to start with this question 1. The visuals......... I mean wow this is last gen and just look how amazing Los Santos and Blaine County look. The level of detail is just immense. 2. Having 3 protags was a fresh idea and worked so well. I love jumping in and out seeing what they are up to. 3. The missons... so much more variation than we have had before. 4. Lamar..... Dude just cracks me up. There is so much more I cannot think of now. All I will say is bring on PS4 GTA V
Gnocchi Flip Flops
I love the transition of driving from the city to the countryside (at least on the eastern half of the map). MrVance
Nobody hasn`t mentioned the missions yet. The main storyline missions were awesome in V. Very well written scenarios with alot of fun. Just shame that there weren`t enough of them. Only 69 of them was a little disapointing. Even if they were longer than in other games but still, i expected at least 100 of them. Xerukal
Oh, almost forgot about the dynamic mission soundtracks. Minor Turbulence, We Were Set Up, The Third Way, Rampages 1 and 2. I could go on forever. What the game lacks in terms of good radio music, it more than makes up for with the absolutely fantastic score. I'd like to say the exact same thing about Red Dead Redemption, as well. Edited October 13, 2014 by Xerukal Th3MaN1
