or any part of the map...

V is probably the most alive game world in any video game ever... and that's not subjective but an objective quantifiable fact

you can measure the size the world, the number of unique art assets, dynamic NPC patterns, etc, and no game comes even close other than maybe a MMO like WoW or maybe Skyrim

it doesn't have much gameplay in the world :(

but in terms of art and AI it is unmatched in being alive

Chumash alone probably has more unique art than all of GTA SA combined haha :p

This is gonna be a long one since there's a personal story and one of my friends' stories(which I witnessed). Sorry if it's too off topic but I feel it's a good thread to say this on.

Anyway, I love how the most unexpected and awesome things can happen in GTA V(as with any GTA, but not to the same extent).

My story is when I was sniping drivers of highway traffic to make them do awesome crashes. I had parked my car just off the roa and stood right beside it and proceeded to start sniping. I killed the driver of a Bison towing a boat and I thought it was going to go past me but then it started going sideways and eventually it was coming at me completely sideways. I though I was gonna die but tried escaping death anyway by turning toward my car and climbing over it. I fully expected Trevor to start climbing onto the roof and get crushed by the truck and trailer before climbing all the way up but instead he slid over the hood and completely missed getting hit by a hair. I tell you my butt cheeks were clenched on that one and it was completely epic how Trevor escaped the catastrophe.

My friend's story is when he had gotten killed while doing the sniping thing(same thing I was doing in the above story). So he called a cab, skipped to the destination and, before he had control while getting out his Trevor got hit by a car and knocked over. Then before he could get up a cougar mauled him. We both laughed so hard, it only made it funnier that he had absolutely no control over any of it, he hadn't even got to control his character between deaths except for the time he spent getting into the taxi.

Trevor Philips.

uhhh that's a reason to hate GTA V.

haha no way by far the best GTA character :p

he basically IS what GTA would be if GTA could be personified into a character

Trevor is GTA incarnate

to hate Trevor is to hate what GTA represents :D

haha i've had that happen a few times i think, the cougar thing... like an epic 4-star police escape and somehow someway lose the helicopters hiding in bushes and in the mountains and finally take a breath of relief and then *rgrrarrrrrrr* /DEAD lol

the unexpected crashes and escapes are always awesome. best part of free roam, really... just picking a new place to start a crash or shootout. often it's average but you get so many unique hilarious moments.

i had one two days ago i think where i was speeding in East LS and I just barely hit this group of pedestrians but i mostly just physically knocked over 1 lady, but she didn't die... and instead she went flying into another man and knocked him.

the guy stands up and starts to CURB STOP THE LADY cuz technically she hit him (when i made her go flying haha)

was so hilarious to see this average joe looking guy just going to town on this poor lady lol

another funny one is when you get someone angry at you on the highway, stop, get out so they go on foot to chase you, and then get back in your car and drive to the other side of the highway... hahaha and watch them run across 4 lanes of traffic to get you, and repeat until they get smoked

or... do it with Chop when playing ball .....

i shouldn't laugh i have a doberman haha :(:D

There's several reasons I love GTA V, but I'll list the main ones.

The map: The map is gorgeous, it's a real testament to Rockstar's attention to detail.

The three protagonist system: A bold direction for Rockstar that payed off immensely. I love playing as the three amigos, they add another dimension to the whole GTA V experience.

Vehicle and weapon variety: Rockstar really outdid themselves this time. There's nothing better than having a plethora of vehicles and weapons to select.

Vehicle customisation: It's amazing how much fun you can have driving around in a golden hearse.

The return of planes: Finding out that GTA V had planes made the game all the more exciting.

The Cheats: The cheats in GTA V are awesome, and reminiscent of their predecessor San Andreas.

The Snapmatic camera: To paraphrase SonOfLiberty, the Snapmatic camera is an excellent addition to the game.

And of course, a man's best friend... Chop.

I like this idea.

Hmm, well where to start?!?! There's actually a lot of things I really enjoyed about this game, aaannd there is a few things that I didn't like so much too. But that's how it is with every game I suppose. To the point. I absolutely love the characters. I can't even favor one over the other because I feel that all three are similar in terms that they all have that love for the adrenaline rush when it comes to their criminal lifestyle. Yet all three are so unique in their own ways. Their voice actors fit them like a glove as well making it all the more enjoyable. Along with that I really enjoyed the short and sweet storyline with that twisted choice you had at the end of bumping one of the two off or let all live.... I was heartbroken when I clicked on Michael and backstabbed him a I had no choice I didn't have autosave on and I didn't save for an entire 4 hours of playing making me turn right around playing through it again. haha I wish it had been a bit longer but if it would have been like say GTA: IV for an example I feel most would have gave up on the game like they did with the other. I personally loved how long GTA: IV was and played through it numerous times. But I can live with the short story GTA: V had as it made up with side missions and what not.

As for the other things, I really liked the ability of skydiving, riding bikes, vehicle customization you name it. There was a lot of really beautiful details in the "state" of San Andreas and I for one was astonished the first week of playing the game and I couldn't believe how huge the map was. Now going back and playing it the map doesn't seem so big at all. hahaha Now to confront some of the bad I didn't like is actually a short list. I for one was a bit disappointed with the crosshair. For traditional GTA style and assisted aim it is fine. However free aim gave me some problems and still does the crosshair should have been bigger and a more visible white with the option of keeping it white instead of it turning color. Kinda like Max Payne did. Other than that bullet wounds kinda bug me I mean the blood is fine the visibility of the wound is a bit strange. And driving mechanics, cars feel too light, and I hate how all four wheels kinda stick and you have to struggle to roll your car(accident wise not as in adjust is in mid-air like you can), and motorcycles feel a bit too touchy. And the turbulance with helicopters, with planes it's fine but helicopters was unnecessary. And last but not least lack of interiors. Other than that I have no problems with the game whatsoever and look forward to getting it on my PS4 and re-experiencing the beauty of this game all over again. I do miss it after not having a PS3 for close to 7 months now.

I especially loved that the missions weren't as repetitive as in GTA IV. Most missions in GTA IV where just drive there, kill half of the russian mafia, get away, repeat. In GTA V there's alot more variety in missions mostly thanks to the heists as even the preperations were alot of fun and thinking about how to approach the job was just the best part of the game, made you feel involved. And the other mission were great, too, ranging from shootouts and car chases to mid-air plane stealing and drug smuggling. For me, GTA V brought back what I was missing in GTA IV: the ridiculous crazyness. And Trevor? He just perfectly represents what the average player does in the game. GTA Online is a lot of fun, especially with friends. Before I noticed I had nearly 300 hours play time!

My list of dislikes is a very long one, however this is not the thread to discuss these.

Anyway, I do like the game for the vastly improved vanilla Emergency Vehicle lighting system almost looking like ELS. It is a vast, vast improvement over it's predecessor.

Cheers.

To continue with the slightly off topic, bit still on topic subject of crazy random things. I was driving as Tewvor with 3 star cops, and I did a random jump at one of the Industrial islands near the port, south LS. And whilst in the air of my jump, I randomly bailed, and fell into one of those trucks that have an empty container on the back, with the roof open. And I rode to freedom and the police got off my back, ot was random, and cool, ot made me appreciate V a little bit more ;)

Sorry for bumping this up but i got to write this even if i get banned for it because i really don`t give a sh*t. It`s a whole f*cking warzone between V/SA/IV/3 fans.

First of all i agree with author of this topic. I`m about to getting real sick of V haters on here myself. They feeding themselves by criticizing V like it`s the worst game ever but yet they playing it. It looks like it`s modern to hate on V these days. The sort of people who delusionaly think they are better and greater than the rest of us.

In some sort of; "it`s so popular that i got to hate it" attitude. They are started to praise the older series and bitch on V but i cut my f*cking balls off if at least 1/3 of them didn`t bash on IV/SA etc back time.

They are bunch of immature, sarcastic and bitter hipsters who desperately need to hate what is newer and popular.

I don`t get it what the hell did they excpect with V in the first place that they are so disapointed on it? It`s a good game for 2013.

This forum is crawling with these people and they just need to put their negativism in every single thread that is about V.

Stupid and childish cockfights about which GTA game is better and similar bullsh*t. I come to V section in the hopes i`ll get some wise debate with V fans but all i see is V haters all over. I mean what the hell is this? Sometimes i have the feeling that you are considered a little wack on here if you like gta V. f*cking hypocrites.

This forum is great to find a source on GTA games and just for reading it. But when you start participating in it you realize that`s it`s a f*cking kindergarden out here.

Now crush me or bann me if you like i don`t really give a f*ck.

You better watch out Mr Vance don't you know you aren't allowed to like V on here?

It also surprises me that IV fans are the worst when it comes to it. You would think they would understand the need to defend something you like but most other people seem to hate since they went through it the last five years.

PoeticWhisper

To add.

The Characters are more than meet the eye. You have to truly look deep to understand them. Like in real life, almost everyone's scars are hidden deep.

There is a thread titled "Most depressing moment in GTA V" or something along those lines. Really opened up my eyes.
