Working at the docks with the Dock Handler

As a legitimate source of income in GTA Online we should be able to work at the docks with the Forklift and Dock Handler moving crates and cargo to a designated area, then load them with the crane onto semi-trailer trucks in a way similar to what we did in Scouting the Port. We could get paid by the crate or shipping container we move and load, or by the hour. This actually makes sense since we'd be shipping all those damn cars Simeon keeps bothering us about that he wants to ship abroad.

I actually liked that mission as thought and realism was put into it. The minigames and instructions were fun and while that mission doesn't have any action it's, for me, one of the most memorable. Scouting docks?! Count me in!

If GTA:O were to introduce a "legitimate" source of income, I think being a police officer would be best (such as APB:Reloaded). Of course, R* would have to reduce the speed of cops so you can actually get away in a car worth a million f*cking dollars so then they'd have to call a player who's current ride will be outfitted with lights (I'm sure glitching to keep the lights will be done so gotta think this through or else every car will have sirens in races, etc.).

I don't want to know what kind of porn you like OP...

haha why?

I mean of all the things you could have said

XD

anyway OP are you serious?

they finally seemed to understand that we don't need useless repetitive dates or cousins to go bowling with

and I think that after GTA:O they probably won't bother with the silly sh*t like tennis or golf since literally no1 is playing it. (could be wrong though they are pretty dense over at R*)

and now you're asking for about the most boring activity possible, heck if you like driving forklifts I'm sure there's some factory that will hire you

just keep that sh*t out of my ENTERTAINMENT thank you very much

if anything we need vigilante missions or something

I can't speak for the OP, but I get the sense he was serious.

What you call "repetitive," "silly," and "boring," are actually a nice break from the same old run/shoot/kill/hide/run/shoot/kill/hide routines of Online Free Roam, for many players.

Not sure if you're old enough to remember GTA2 and the ol' car crusher, which came back in GTAIII? That was such a nice change of pace from the normal routine of the game.

There have different crane-type/cargo box missions, I believe, in other versions of GTA, so to conceive of it in GTA5 is not unreasonable, and actually sounds like it could be fun!

I mean, the elements are already there and implementation would be to set those elements in motion. Wouldn't be groundbreaking.

Regardless, I like the suggestion, though I agree that Rockstar would likely not indulge it, as they're probably focusing on GTA6 at this point. (kidding... a little). :)

Man I miss the car crusher from III. Works the same as selling cars I guess, but it was cool to see the big magnet drop it in and heat the car get crushed.

Yall some crummy gangsters. Sammy the Bull Gravano never worked at the docks. It just appeared that way so his parole officer wouldn't get his panties in a bunch. Payroll office would make a check and Sammy would go pick it up. If nobody wanted to play then.. well they'd have a talk.

something along those lines would be better. I don't get my check. I have to go down there and encourage some people to play nice.

Hourly wage is for suckers.

Nice contradicting yourself there. People play golf and I get quite a few invites to tennis, surprisingly. Just because you don't play sports in a video game doesn't mean there's no sport games. While we're at it, why not tell Madden to stop making games? Hell, you should just go out and get your own concussions. Just keep that sh*t out of my ENTERTAINMENT thank you very much.

-snip-

not gonna happen, give it up already, lol

Just a suggestion that I suggested once. :p

You'd just end up helping a Turkish human trafficker cover up the deaths of 13 prostitutes in one of the cans, while a police captain sets a major crimes unit on you for getting the church window he wanted.

Always happens, I tell ya

yeah a lot of repetitive silly and boring players I bet XD

I am old enough and have played everything from the first GTA, but for all you know I could be lying and so could you
so it doesn't really mean anything
in any case, stealing and parking cars in a certain spot to see them being lifted and crushed (which makes no sense btw, steal cars and than sell them as scrap metal) is a far cry from sitting in a slowass forklift driving containers around the docks.
any1 who still finds this interesting after doing it 2 or 3 times should seriously consider a career as a forklift driver instead of wasting time doing it in a video-game.
I dno about you people but I play videogames to escape from reality
to do things I can't or won't risk doing IRL
not to do some boringass job I wouldn't even want IRL
(no offense to any forklift drivers out there, you 're doing great, just keep on trucking XD)

there were also taxi missions vigilante missions pizza delivery missions etc.
hell in gta 2 you could install machine guns on the front of your car
none of which are likely to make a return any time soon.

You would make more money being a GTA bum. Someone who hangs around gunfights in passive mode picking up dropped money.

As a legit job its a bit crusty OP, sorry. Dockworkers are paid what £25/hour? Probably more in wartime. But you are getting like £50 per 2 RL minutes. Now being a GTA bum means I'm not great at maths, so I can't tell ya if this is good or not. But I do know I once picked up £2000 by hanging around a level 10 noob trying to fight this car that kept driving backwards everywhere.

But as a criminal enterprise, it sounds tasty. You could load the thing onto a truck and the truck has gotta drive somewhere. Kinda like Simeon HPV. The thing should have drugs in it. Or teddy bears with drugs in them.

Is it in the Minimum Wage DLC coming out Tuesday? Dockwork, Hospital Janitorial, Convenience Store Stocking, Car Washing, ... the possibilities are endless! :)

Dunno for repetitive missions... (recall shoveling mutant cow sh*t for XP in FOnline), but for heist and missions it would a cool, even a throwback feature.

And should it be included in freeroam, so please as a part of trucking missions feature. Loading up, driving away.

Also, why this can't even flip a car?

Stuff like this would be good for immersion. It would also be great if we could deal in drugs and set up a large drug enterprise, thereby giving you the feeling to actual be someone in that world. It would be great if crews could then become actual crime enterprises, instead of just a bunch of guys going on killing sprees.
