First Person Mode in GTA Online will ruin this game

I am in public lobbies all the time to sharpen my senses.

me too usually, but i recently spent some time in a white dot lobby and it had a TON more npcs walking around and variety of cars compared to the normal red dot lobbies im in where theres hardly any and they are all the same 3 cars and usually they quit completely after a while. In a red dot lobby you can have 5 stars and never hardly see a cop, and if they do show up they get out of the car which then instantly disappears, lol! in a white dot lobby they are on your ass like white on rice chasing and ramming you much more easily than they can muster in red dot lobbies. try it sometime, its very different, lol!

 

hell if thats what ps4 has to look forward too maybe ill stay on the ps3, less cops f*cking with ya, haha! J/K Ps3/xbox360 sucks.

If anything, first person view is a disadvantage to anyone using it in a third person shooter. People who use first person view, will only see what is front of them. Whereas, third person can have a view of their surroundings. If there are lobbies that force users to first person mode only I will use it from time to time. The only time I would use first person view is death matches to mix things up a bit. Still , I will be using third person mode anyways, because I like seeing my online character.

this game really needs first person. 3rd person combat is dumb, especially when your camera isnt centered and the bullets come from camera and not gun barrel. then you got dumb sh*t like you shoot the wall while the other f*ck you cant even see at all can kill you easily, yay! so much fun, or the camera so far and high you cant see sh*t detail wise unless you zoom with sniper and then cops shoot your ass right away, yay, so much fun! first person would be awesome for walking around, then you could actually see whats in front of you instead of looking at a f*cking treebranch full of leaves unable to see your character at all while some sh*twanker shoots you in the face you didnt even know was there, yay, so much fun! dur dur dur

 

While I disagree with the OP, your strong stance against third-person camera is also flawed and an extremely narrow view based solely on your own feelings.

well I didnt really mean the whole concept of it is dumb, but the way rockstar implemented it is inherently flawed, thats for sure. It works great for gta singleplayer but its pretty dumb for multiplayer. Its too unfair with too many glitches and bugs. All the shortcut easy access stuff is worthless singleplayer features and the useful multiplayer features are buried in menus and hard to access without standing still for 5 minutes like a big fat noob easy to kill. I dont know if youve every played any PVP type games before, but stupidly laid out controls and tons of glitches and unfair advantages do not make the game fun to play or retain an active community for very long and only cheating asshats are left. I do not like using lame cheats/exploits to win PVP, I much prefer to pit my skills against that of my opponents on an even playing field and play the game properly and fairly. I dont enjoy using methods that render me virtually invincible and able to get easy kills, thats not fun to me. I dont use jets or tanks or wall breaches to kill people. I dont much care for the 3rd person flaws that allow you to cornershoot your opponent whilst you are not even visible or to get shot while in cover . Theres no skill there, its easy and lame and boring.

 

where multiplayer pvp is concerned its pretty dumb to not be able to have a decent controlset designed with multiplayer in mind instead of getting stuck in cutscenes unable to move or control your character and get killed without any resistance. things like doubletap up for the snapmatic camera and no minimap when in the customs shop or other stores is just retarded and makes you wonder if they test things before they implement them and whos is so stupid that they think such things are a great idea for an online game where people are shooting at each other. Ideally you never want that minimap to go away or your character to randomly start some 5-10 cutscene animation leaving you blind and unable to control your character, its just stupid to anyone whos ever played any online game ever before.

 

If you enjoy the lameness of cornershooting and not being able to see stuff due to the camera position in relation to the character in 3rd person view well then you probably wont understand what im talking about, but it just feels totally flawed and broken to me, im not used to playing games with so many lame unfair exploits and I do not find it fun or challenging to use them to kill people, its far too easy and boring and you might as well be killing NPCs. I just think that if you can see them and shoot them then they should also be able to see and shoot you, just like real life. None of this bullets come from an imaginary point off to the side of your gun barrel bullsh*t.

First-person mode will be a neat addition, enhance immersion, and -- counter to OP's point -- will put the people who choose to use it at a severe disadvantage.

I beg to differ...

I play in free aim, where 1st person will matter.

Just like in Socom, back when I had to buy a network adapter for my ps2, I feel like using 3rd person to move/check surrondings and then 1st for better aiming will be my go to strategy for DMs.

The use it yourself if its so good. Or just leave the graveyard that is free aim and play the game with default aimFunny how you resort to calling free aim dead because you have to use AutoAim and try to make yourself not feel inferior. Because of a CHOICE you made to play in auto-aim, and mankinds need to be right/make the right choice, you attempt to make your choice to play in AutoAim the better/right/correct choice by downing everything else.

 

Pretty lame and weak if you ask me.

 

I'll tell ya what, we both continue to play the game how we want (aim settings), I'll continue to work, exercise, love my wife and gaming; you continue to worry about how other people play a video game.

 

Check back with me in a few years to see who is happier about the way they spend their time.

Assuming the 'removed' post on the R* newswire was genuine. Ask yourself this: Why would they post details about it, then suddenly decide to remove it?

 

Anyway, as I say it looks like being next-gen only, even if it does happen, so it's of no interest to me now.

There will be no first-person view because such a thing would require a few gameplay changes to implement. And as we all know, Rockstar loves adding obsolete guns and vehicles, but they hate adding substantial gameplay changes.

 

You can try first-person view right now by doing the Ferris wheel glitch. In ACTUAL first-person games, your character walks and stops on a dime. You control you character like they were a camera on wheels, basically. But because of GTA's "realism", your character takes an extra step every time you move, and your view wobbles up and down with every step (JUST LIKE REAL, LIFE, OMG, SOOO COOOL!)

 

This is the major reason free-aim in GTAV is so wonky. There are "dead zones" when you're moving and aiming. You can stand in point A and aim, and you can stand in point B and aim, but you can't stand in between. Your character doesn't know how. If you move, it's either A or B, and this seriously messes with your aiming. Of course, no one else will actually admit that because it would require admitting free-aim in GTA is, and always has been, flawed, so why bother...

Yes, because if Rockstar decided to do a dedicated FP mode, it would be JUST like some sh*tty glitch

 

And if you think the FP mode in the ferris wheel glitch is a serious attempt at 'realistic', then you've been playing some pretty sh*t FP games.
