First Person Mode in GTA Online will ruin this game

This is like saying the distant view we have now ruins the game, its a press of a button! Its no biggie... doesnt matter if they add FP on foot, it makes no difference. ?

 

Im hoping they go ahead with it simply because we have this beautiful world and driving about in fp would just be epic, I would only use it on cruises and RP, which is I do most of the time, but in full on combat situations I still think 3rd person will win out.. either way its a button press... I carnt wait for it...

sniper doesnt have auto aim. all console games have auto aim cause console controllers suck. I really am not holding my breath that they would go first person walking around though, its a pipe dream, and far outside of rockstars ability. and like you say, first person against 3rd isnt very balanced, someone is gonna get pwned, is the the corner shooting 3rd person or the 1st person whos character isnt blocking half his view? it would be interesting.

i love the 3rd person driving, 1st person driving sucks, you cant see anything and you have no idea where the edges of your car are so you hit more stuff that you also cannot see, it just doesnt really work well, besides, you already have a driving first person view, lol! press select a couple times.

While I disagree with the OP, your strong stance against third-person camera is also flawed and an extremely narrow view based solely on your own feelings.

pro racing gamers always us hood cams since it's better to judge turns and sh*t

you don't need to see the edges of your car you're supposed to know where they are, just like IRL

 

not to sure it would work in this game to that extent since situational awareness is pretty important (with the ramming and all)

but purely from a racing perspective it's a lot better to place the camera on your hood

though this off center wobbly hood cam we have now is kind sh*tty as well.

I use the 1st person mod in EFLC, and it's amazing. The world just feels huge and you're right there in it, with all the detail, walking by peds and driving, you feel like you are there for real. Gun fights are epic and so is the driving. Although I have to pop back and forth at times with the views as it can be a bit disorientating at times during certain activities.

 

Anyhow, would love to see it in GTAO/GTAV. I doubt it though, as I read an interview by Dan Houser where he said they will not ever offer a 1st person, as they don't want to be doing what everybody else is doing.

Harhar icuwatudidthar. In all seriousness though, there are a few avenues this could go down.

 

• Restricted to SP only.
• Restricted to FP GTAO lobbies only.
• Restricted to non-combative use (only available in passive mode).

   

I'm sure if I gave it some thought I could come up with more, but you see my point? It may not have to be extensively tested if it's not used for combat.

I played skyrim in first person. There are some good reasons to use it for combat. But it's still very limited because of movement and turning your character. As for the cod reference, that makes 0 sense.

1.. thats rich.... R* having been making the best open world games kn the world for years, of which you have been buying, and continue to play months after release, i fail to see how its outside of R* ability.. thats pathetic.

A great deal of work went imto creating this world we play in and this will only further increase the realism and emersion of the game, this game is getting a huge following in car meets and role play servers, (RP just gets bigger and bigger year on year especially with the leaps forward in grafix and game complexity) there is a huge market for this stuff..

 

You say we already have a 1st person driving view "just press select a couple of times", well thats a cam stuck on the front of a car, we don't have interiors and it dont feel like your sitting In the car, but what would it matter to you that there was 1 more button press on the select button?. None!..

 

Its your view and thats fine, but some people like to do a bit more in this game than chase people about lobbing remote bombs at people, if you want that.. great .. more power to you, but your not the only one playing this game, and their is more to this game than kill kill kill kill kill.... look at me im god.. kill kill kill..

This game is beta, so may problems, not many fixed, more created, i do think most of it is console limitations though, i cant believe rockstar could possibly be so dumb, previous gta games were hella sweet, but this one is very weak, very very weak in comparison. I dont care if you like driving backwards with your thumb up your ass, you can play how you want, im just saying that of the hundreds of driving games ive played the inside the car view is always complete sh*t compared to the chase view, you cant see anything and its far too restrictive. perhaps on a pc with an eyefinity setup they could make it playable and cool bringing peripheral vision into play, but it just limits your already limited screen too much and i find it much more enjoyable to see my whole car and more of my surroundings.
