First Person Mode in GTA Online will ruin this game

I always wished there to be a 1st-person mode. You'll be able to see all those awesome details they've put in the game.

As far as I've seen so far, first person mode has only been "leaked" for driving. I fail to see how this is going to ruin the game...!

It's not even confirmed OP. For one if it is true, it'll probably be an option where you switch from 3rd to 1st person perspective. I'm pretty sure if you want to fight from the 3rd person perspective you won't have any issues. GTA has forever been a game where you play it from the 3rd person perspective, and it'll stay that way.

I beg to differ...

I play in free aim, where 1st person will matter.

Just like in Socom, back when I had to buy a network adapter for my ps2, I feel like using 3rd person to move/check surrondings and then 1st for better aiming will be my go to strategy for DMs.

Aside from the incoherant gibberish the OP typed, they are just adding an extra view mode to the other options. If you don't like it, don't use it. Literally zero impact to your game.

Help me OP I'm really reallyyyyyyyyy trying to see things from your perspective but I just can't. It makes no sense whatsoever, you ARE NOT forced to use it and you can continue to play the way you you're use to...

I for 1 have been asking for working speedometers and a nice 1st person view to see my car interiors since FOREVER and this is like a dream come true for me and so many more ppl

this game really needs first person. 3rd person combat is dumb, especially when your camera isnt centered and the bullets come from camera and not gun barrel. then you got dumb sh*t like you shoot the wall while the other f*ck you cant even see at all can kill you easily, yay! so much fun, or the camera so far and high you cant see sh*t detail wise unless you zoom with sniper and then cops shoot your ass right away, yay, so much fun! first person would be awesome for walking around, then you could actually see whats in front of you instead of looking at a f*cking treebranch full of leaves unable to see your character at all while some sh*twanker shoots you in the face you didnt even know was there, yay, so much fun! dur dur dur

I think he's wrong and look forward to another camera angle. One that is greatly in demand for some.

You can swtch to first person while driving now, but I prefer third person view.

I hope melee combat is still slidey (pressing attack a mile away and sliding mid-punch towards your target). Would be funny seeing 5 people having a jig seizure because of lagged punches in a deathmatch.

Look at games like DayZ for example.

Who plays in first person? Right, no one. Everyone sticks to 3rd person because you can cheat around walls and you can see alot more.

but you forget to take into account that first person would be closer and thus spot the other person first, huge advantage. plus being able to see and shoot someone from cover instead of shooting the wall and they killing you instead when you pop out of cover to aim at them would be a refreshing change.

I mean auto-aim in first person? :S

probably going to make it free aim only (even if you're on auto-aim similar to the sniper)

 

and than there's balance, there's definitely going to be advantages and disadvantages to the different viewpoints

wonder how that will work out in practice
