FairGaming Posted September 26, 2014 Share Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) Hi All, This is UNBELIEVABLE!!!! A friend of mine farmed Rooftop approximately 100 times over a period of 3-4 months. He had earned just over $2 million dollars in doing this when one day he came online to find he only had $1000 remaining. My friend just figured he had either been hacked or experienced some kind of bug so having no money he decided not to send a ticket but to call them directly, in order to get a faster response. After the usual wait time of about an hour or so, he finally got onto someone and politely asked Why and WTF? He was told, "We have removed your cash from your account because you have received too much money from a mission." He said I have been doing Rooftop Rumble and they replied with "Yes, that's why" They said their was nothing they could do. MY THOUGHTS: IN THAT PHONE CALL ROCKSTAR CLAIMED "THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO" How about warning us publicly or privately in a message, or just CAP it at 5 - 10 plays per day for example. Not take said cash without warning. I calculated the money he made at an average of 7 minutes per level is around 12 hours of game play. QUESTIONS: Has this happened to anyone else? (I believe my friend 100% I do but to be fair this is still secondary information.) If this is true, Do you think this is reasonable considering there appears to be no warning from Rockstar for doing this. Especially since rockstar clearly stated during the "shut down" a few months ago that only people exploiting the game would be penalized, not people who have repeated missions. But who knows? I swear, I must have earned at least a mil and half on RR alone and no one has taken my money. Of course, I spend it as soon as I get it like any irresponsible san andrean. (Rooftop sucks now, anyways) I want to doubt it also as this is grossly unfair in my opinion but my friend is absolutely adamant this happened. I questioned him thoroughly before posting this as to not start a rumor etc and I am totally convinced he is telling the truth. At the time it happened he was genuinely upset and shocked as we all were and spoke with conviction when I challenged this. It still pops up when I join random missions, but I usually leave because it's not worth doing anymore. Titan of a Job and Landing Gear seem to be the new RRs. How do you know or is this just an assumption? Believe me when I tell you, I had questioned them initially and again at considerable length when I decided to put this to the forums. Their account was detailed and recalled without hesitation, spoken with conviction and there was most definately genuine emotion behind it all. Look, I couldn't believe it straight away either as I am a rather suspicious person by nature. Gullible, I am not. I have tried to come up with a reason why anybody might make something like this up and in the context of the conversation we were having at the time, it made no sense to do so. I wont name the person as I don't have their permission to do so at this stage, but I assure you they do not possess the type of personality or attitude that would fabricate something untrue, merely to get attention. Finally, It needs to be said that posting this was solely my idea and not theirs. Attention Whore? I think not. Glitching and not telling me the whole story, possible. Don't take it personally. As bad as some of R☆'s decisions have been, in this instance they are almost always doing it for the right reasons.
