If OP is encouraging Rockstar to follow the policy of supporting the small minority having a better hardware of unlimited possibilities to continue developing the game further without giving a f*ck about the majority of the players who brought PS3/360 versions, then that's a very wrong attitude.

Ok fine, but the PS4/Xboxone/PC versions should atleast get the DLC to be made for them and use off the better hardware, and then have R* downgrade the DLC to fit onto the PS3 and 360 version of the game.

 

 

The new better version of the game, shouldn't have it's DLC, support, patches and quality limited by the old version of the game, that probably won't be played anymore but by a very small few who refuse to buy new consoles and new games ( and thus aren't supporting R* anymore anyway ) within a few years.

You're starting to sound like someone who just got their hands on a ps4 and you're waving your dick around online saying "look what I've got, screw anyone that doesn't have the same".

 

Many people have said many times that there will more than likely be dedicated support for each platform. Why would R* globally roll out a patch that deals with issues specifically on the ps3? And if the ps3 does develop an issue, why the hell are you against them patching it for those users?

 

I'm still not sure if you mean they should stop support in 2016 for last gen users, but that's fairly obvious. It seems you want them to hit the power switch on Nov 18.

First, R* has already supported the game for over a year most games do not get that amount of support, free DLC and patches.

 

Second of all, anyone who has played a next gen game can easily realize how much better the new consoles are. They can support better graphics, better frame rates, better controls, better physics, better AI, more realistic worlds, more things going on at once, when GTA V came out on the PS3 the first half a year that I played it I was wowed and thought it was a technological masterpiece after getting my PS4 and not playing it for a few months it was very hard to come back to, because of issues like the frame rate, lack of varied traffic, and not much pedestrians or traffic around.

 

Third of all, eventually just about everyone who likes to play video games and likes GTA will upgrade. If your so much of a GTA fan that your posting on here and upset about missing features in the PS3 version chances are you are either going to quit playing video games all together, or will upgrade your console or computer. Chances are the PS3 or Xbox 360 won't be the last console you own. Do you honestly think that in 2 years when more and more people buy a next gen console and when the prices drop somewhat that a lot of people will still be playing the PS3 or Xbox 360 version online? Is it even a lock that Xbox Live for the Xbox 360 will still be around within 2 more years?

 

Fourth of all, the next generation version is closer to the true vision of what R* wanted to make in the first place. It should have all the support possible as it's the version of the game that people are going to be playing until the next GTA comes out. It should have as many new features, as many bugs fixed, and as many additions as possible.

If Rockstar stops all Patches and DLC's I'd actually be glad, cuz I am the guy who likes how games used to be released as a final product, bugs and all.

it's not just GTA V that is being held back. games like WATCH DOGS, Destiny etc haven't lived up to their full potential because devs are having to waste time making it for PS3/360/PS4/XB1. performance is held back. graphics are held back.

 

ps3/360 are finished. they are ancient by console standards. sell them. toss them out. just get rid of them. anyone who's working a decent job can afford to buy a ps4. oh wait...most people probably don't have a job. ask your mum/dad nice if they'll buy you a ps4/xb1.

I think they'll just patch it constantly to try to keep the game at a certain point, I mean not to leave the game completly aside, but to patch glitches and bugs. I'm not so sure about content tho'. They might offer 2-3 common DLCs with NG( with less content ), after that some small aditions from time to time until they'll completely stop supporting LG.

 

I know some gaming forums that are highly interested in NG versions, therefore I don't see why the game wouldn't reach at least half of the actual sales

Most games nowadays are developed fully for next gen and then a separate dev team port it to the last gen systems.

just because new gen has now been released, it doesnt mean the death of old gen

 

i bet for the next 12 months people will still be buying old gen consols and games although more than likely second hand or from the basement bins, old gen is not completely obsolete just yet, not everyone can afford to upgrade straight away

 

and to be honest i bet theres plenty of people out there with the same mindset as me, in which they wont be upgrading untill any issues have been ironed out, i wont be upgrading till xmas, maybe new year, might not even at all, but before i do i want to see if its worth it first

For number 3, if the person doesn't ever plan on upgrading to a new console, chances are they are done playing video games and not going to pay for DLC either. If someone actually likes playing video games and is willing to buy new ones they will eventually upgrade.

 

For number 2 and 4, it's facts R* should focus on releasing the best quality that they can on the next gen since that is the version that people are going to want to be playing within a few years.

Again, there's an alternative to this. Completely abandoning the last gen consoles is the worst business decision they'll ever make till date. Because MOST of the consumers are on the last gen consoles, if you don't know that, you don't know anything about a business.

 

The alternative they'll most likely use is they will still release major DLC's and updates for the old consoles, however, if there needs to be limitations to make it fit in, then that is what they'll do. The next gen versions will be getting the full quality DLC or update they are supposed to get since theres no limitations at all pretty much. They can still make the next gen experience the best quality and smoothest as possible while they get to work on the last gen versions at the same time. They've got different groups for that so there should be no issue in terms of releasing content.

Don't worry - they won't stop support for last-gen. At least, not for a very long time, when the vast majority have moved on to the current-gen.

 

There may be exclusive material and updates coming out for current-gen only but they'll continue to support and upgrade last-gen, so there won't be any need to panic.

 

Heists will come out for last-gen, for instance. And that's the big update people are waiting for currently.

In my opinion, I felt like R*'s power through GTA really kept last-gen alive. Like we had an excuse on why we or I still owned a 360 (or PS3)...it's because I wanted to still play V. Now that it's coming out for next-gen...R* has effectively killed last-gen once and for all.
