Basically foregoing the entire issue of alpha blending by merely doing alpha testing with a 127 threshold, as I already expected from seeing earlier comparison screenshots.

Holy cow! This was unexpected, so to put it simple, is the alpha bug finally fixable on the pc version now?

Ok, there are some things I'll be wanting to fix, like some tree positioning in LAhills, DAT BIZARRE SQUARED TREE in San Fierro in front of the hippie shop, and some other minor things, I'll include this lampost in the next Format C: Glorious Map Master Race Superior Vision Real Life San Andreas update.

Great! I hope this isn't asking too much of you but... can you please do another version of these new map fixes with the original PC files? That way we will get two versions one with the PS2 map files + fixes and another one with PC map files + fixes.

It's complicated. It would be the ideal, but this ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

The thing is, the PC version has way more objects and trees placed around the map, i don't know if you are aiming for a pure 1:1 representation of the PS2 map or a mix of the two.

Unlike many people i actually started playing and finished this game on the PC version back in 2005, then i moved to PS2 wich i enjoyed for it's atmosphere and feel but i really disliked the lack of objects and trees, hopefully you can keep the best of the two in a nice mix, if not well i can live with it :p.

Yes, well, my plan is to take PS2 map as a base, then tweak from it. It's based on personal taste, I'm just sharing for the sake of doing something that some people would like.

No, exactly the opposite

*removed some objects to match PS2 map
*changed the "squared tree" in front of the hippie shop in sf

What can I say? If I can't reproduce the crash, I have nothing to check... Make sure you're using the latest modloader (0.2.0, there are dl links in this thread) for the binary IPL files, and don't have any other map mods that could conflict with something.

First off, sorry if the quoting is messy, first time using this on my phone. :/

 

Does every single lamppost flicker like this? Or is it the occasional one? Because maybe they'd look better if it was every few lampposts as opposed to having them all flicker.

 

Also, are the lamppost lights in SF meant to be pink?

A lamppost model that has the flickering flag enabled will flicker no matter where it is, and I believe the only lampposts that have this flag enabled is in LV.

 

I'm not sure, never noticed it actually. Can you upload a screenshot of it?

I can get a screenshot of the pink lights once I get home for you. Not sure if R* intended them to be pink because I think they're the "Gay" lampposts.
