The last one is a missing lod texture, I nearly lost my sh*t trying to figure it out. Still, don't know how to fix.

 

About the video, I say is more a rendering bug than a map related subject.

Does anybody know how to fix the disappearing building behind the LV TransFender?

Just spotted this one, not sure if its not just my game though

R* just totally screwed up those wires, the vast majority of them have placement issues like that one. Unfortunately I doubt they can be fixed since their model is not separated, there's a single model for the whole wiring and they also include other objects like plants and stuff.

Most of the LODs in SA are from the SA beta maps, Rockstar as always when they change all the normal model dffs from building the map, they don't or forget to go back and do the LODs. Did the same with VC and LC. :)

 

SA map has given me a headache with all the bad LODs, I started making my own.

Also, the player has collision with the missing sand (where the sand should be) on the "bottom of the ocean" but other things like cars don't so they simply slide through the map into darkness...

I need help installing the binary IPL files with modloader. The following is the file tree of a folder inside modloader:

├───data
│ ├──maps
│ ├───country
│ ├───LA
│ ├───SF
│ └───vegas
└───gta3.img

I placed the binary IPL files inside the "gta3.img" folder. I assume that's where they're supposed to go. But the second garage door in Doherty doesn't open. So where exactly do you put the zone_stream.ipl files?

@TrashCanBusta: you don't need to create a gta3.img folder because Modloader automatically detects files that goes to it. The best to do is to put the files in a mod folder you named yourself. It should be like this: Modloader folder\the name you want\here-->files that goes in gta3.img

 

You guys truly bugged me because I had not ever noticed any of those objects misplacements before, until few days ago. From that date, I have taken a look on every lamppost, building, trash bag etc. and guess what? More than half of the object, located in LS, are misplaced. I have got the feeling it won't ever be possible to fix everything. It would take days. Sometimes they even placed two palms on the same spot - seriously. I wanted to take some screens but I don't know if you guys will have the will to fix the issues depicted on them. I would do this myself but I don't really know how to save modifications done with Map Editor - I mean, apply the changes to the actual game.

Anyway, are all cracks fixed? What is your method with added PS2 cars? Will you still fix some of the issues that might be exposed on potentially upcoming screens?

 

By the way, did anybody try to see if all those issues are fixed on the new XBox/Mobile version?

I tried doing it the way you described and I still couldn't open the second garage in Doherty, which is the quickest test I can do. I'm now using the latest modloader version 0.2.1, same results. I tried checking the road intersection in Doherty which is one of the before/after pics posted in the OP and it wasn't fixed either.

 

Other mods like that mess with gta3.img are working fine, like the Mobile to PC stuff and the Fixed Vehicles stuff...still need some help on this one!

 

EDIT: Forgot download the .DFF and .COL files. I just did that and now the Doherty intersection is fixed. The second garage door in Doherty is missing though, but I can store cars inside that garage now.

R* did a really sh*tty job in Mulholland/Vinewood:

And look at this house, there's incorrect UV mapping on the side and the door is in a stupid place (unless R* planned a balcony):

Most of the lamp posts are misplaced by the SA engine not rendering them correctly. I'd say bad collision mostly on the land models (roads overlapping other models and bad .ipl placements) Re-do the collision to fix this and realign the IPL model's mesh in 3dmax - Kam'sMap IO to close any gaps using the snap tools. there are a lot of gaps and holes in the map around LA hills and the country side.

 

SA map was a complete rush job between 3 dev modelling teams all working on LA, SF and LV. you'll see the different styles of modelling between them all. as for the country side! they all most have been pissed when they did that as an after thought.

If all of those collisions issues are actually fixed on the mobile/xbox version, would it be possible to convert the map? I am referring to .ipl, .dff, .col and of course, .lods.

Hi guys, awesome work fixing SA, I´m using modloader v0.2.1 (Nov 23 2014) I the map fixes are buggy.

 

I don´t see PS2 objects in Las Venturas, Four Dragons casino and the Visage and the unused pay n' spray, and the second door of the doherty garage is not there

What 'tridrant' of the map has the fewest errors present in the final (stock) version? Furthermore, after reading through this thread again, I cannot look at the map the same way again.

That's because the beta modloader doesn't support text files. You have to replace these the old way, because on the other hand 0.1.15 modloader doesn't support binary IPLs.

Thanks for the answer, now I see all the PS2 missing objects, but for example doherty 2nd dorr still bugged, tried both modloader v0.2.1 and v0.2.0...

I already started fixing that model but then i stopped working on it since i was no more interested in completing it.

I'll re-fix it soon.

That's the breakable part of the bridge, you can destroy it with a weapon or a vehicle. It's used in "End of The Line".
