In game streamed music

I don't understand why game makers can't/don't build a plugin to some online music streaming services. With options like iHeart radio, pandora, spotify, Last fm, etc... there are tons of options for every player and any technical challenge costs I think would be offset by the savings in license fees.

 

Or even offer a standard music pack and a paid only service for streaming to companies like XM?

 

And before it's said, yes I know I can play whatever music I want from my console. That's not what I want, I want in game music with unlimited options. Any or all of the services i listed, plus many others would work.

They could have a speed limitation/requirement, plus next generation/pc versions have a significantly higher through put.

 

And I belive the copyright issue is bogus since it would be the responsibility of the service not the game.

Do not know that for sure, I know here in the EU they are pretty strict about copyrights.... placing a stream on your website to a radio station already is costing you bucks (yes you are reading this right)

BREIN (Dutch CR fighter) even were planning to send bills to people who are placing Youtube links on their Facebook

^^ true what he said, but Rockstar could make the ability to play your own mp3's thru a radio station, that way Rockstar is not responsible for the music used.

You can stream SiriusXM through your Xbox 360. I play GTA on PS3, but I do have an Xbox, and I used to use this when playing on there.

 

You need a program called TVersity and another program called SiriusXMStreamer. The dev for the latter doesn't provide support anymore, so some channels may not work.

They could monetize it by making it Pandora 1 only with the ability to upgrade to pandora 1 in game.
