Inactive/unhelpful teammates in missions

With the mission payouts increased significantly by playing with more people, I frequently play missions with randoms. This can be fun, but often ends up annoying me. I run across players either killing themselvs right away or blowing the mission. I can deal with that because at least they made an attempt. The part that really gets to me are people who join a mission and don't move or run off no where near the objective. After a few times of players sitting around collecting cash for doing nothing it starts to get to me.

I often try to kick them to prevent them from benefiting for doing nothing. That rarely works since it takes multiple votes. If it's multiple people, I've occassionaly held up the mission or even failed the mission to get them to leave or start participating. The last time I played missions it happened almost 50% of the missions I was in over a period of several hours. I started sitting around watching them while having a beverage instead of playing. Ironically i was kicked twice...

Ideally I should just ignore it and continue on, but it seems to happen pretty frequently.

How do you guys handle it?

Just leave them, if they want to sit there being boring, than that's fine by me. I'll enjoy myself completing it. You can tell which ones are actually away, and which ones are not. If you see them like it immediately after being inactive all mission, you know they were just being lazy sh*ts.

I just do the mission and move on. It bears no relevance to me if they don't play. It's as if they didn't join, and I don't care that they get a reward for not joining in - I wasn't doing for their benefit anyway. As long as I get what I deserve then I don't care, and I'll get more money & RP if they join and do fuck all than I will if they don't join.

If it's just one person (ie. there are other teammates helping me) then I will just get on with the mission and then leave the group once it's done. I'll also ignore any invites to re-join the group.

If it's just me and the host and the host is inactive then I'll intentionally mess up the mission rather than giving them a free ride.

personally don't mind the stone-waller players. Sometimes they rush the mission too quickly (negating the added money value/dying twice/blowing up documents&trucks/sabotaging). So if the players want to just sit there while I do all the work on my and friends pace, no harm done.

I really hate how we can't kick people out of jobs when we are the host.
Specially in jobs that requires a maximun of 2 players and the second one keeps screwing around instead of completing the objective..

Anytime I see people rushing in and dying I just hold back and wait for them to run out of lives then finish it myself.

Oddly they tend to leave as soon as they die and don't get their money. It just shows they are impatient in general.

I will do the mission but just b4 finishing the mission I go back and kill them.

I've driven across town and back just to kill some dude that didn't move the whole mission.

At least this way I get extra points for the kill. Too bad I can't use weapons tho.

thier presence earns you more money whether they help or not. Just run the mission thru.

TEAMMATES....you say Teammates haha more like EVERY man for themselves. Randoms treat missions like a 80s action flick where they wanna be Rambo, Terminator, and don't forget the Top Gun wannabes in Extradition. Its funny how some people can be amazing at deathmatch & racing but be so horrible at missions, especially the easy ones.

I dont mind it. You actually benefit from them standing idle, as you get an extra life when you have more people. If I am particularly annoyed, I kill them with a car or the helicopter blades.

If I'm on a playlist with some crewmates and some freeloader I usually ask the crewmates to join in to kick the freeloader out of the session. Usually I give them headsup with a message. All of us has sometime had a urgent thing to attend to, be it a toiletbreak, a nagging spouse, a snotty siebling or a dog whining about wanting to go out for a walk.

Run em the f*ck over, sabotage the mission on purpose or just shoot their ride til it starts burning under the hood.

Or if they really aren't paying attention, douse their ride in fuel then light that bitch up like a Christmas tree on the 4th of July.

I used to get pissed, but now that there is a bonus for how ever many more people you have I can get over people not doing anything.

The Rooftop Rumble nuts that continuously blow up all the cars in the garage and fail the mission annoy me more now. (People that STILL play Rooftop Rumble is bad enough without them intentionally f*cking it up)

I like your response the best so far! I play for fun, I don't need the cash or the rp. Handing some guy cash for taking a crap shouldn't be tolerated, but obviously is by many. On the other hand now I know what to do next time next time nature calls... Edited by Black Knighl

I dual box so I have one character just standing there for the 10% boost plus the crew bonus.

Only started when the mission system was implemented. Had the idea for Elder Scrolls online to make a mule just to carry stuff.

How do you guys handle it?

The part I highlighted...... exactly how everyone else feels about YOU in real life... just sitting around playing video games all day and collecting cash (mommy daddy's) for doing nothing.

I have no problem with it. Usually if they have a mic they'll let you know beforehand. And since money bonuses have been added, those guys who like to shoot your tires and ram you off the road actually benefit you due to increased payouts for longer mission times.

dont bother me if they sit still, often times thats a good thing cause then they cant f*ck it up or waste lives, lol! depends on the mission too though, im high lvl and can solo pretty easy most of them but others require help. I sometimes go afk on easy ones too if higher levels are there and dont need my help to pass and i gotta take a leak, just go play it if you can, if not f*cking run them over or something and send them a msg say help or GTFO. i dont go afk if im needed or even often, but if you cant pass a simple mission by yourself then just quit and try again if they dont come back. i dont stay gone for long, but some others might, dummys if they do.

If they stand around doing nothing I just ignore them, it's more money for me. I can see the attraction of going back and chopping them to bits with rotor blades but I'd rather not let them get a reaction out of me.

If they are the usual noobs that rush in guns blazing I just wait until they die and complete the mission properly, taking my time and ensuring they have a nice long wait. Scrubs will be scrubs.

Edited for spelling etc.

Kick em.

Message the other 2 players to kick em. Sit and wait til they are kicked.

Longer missions pay better, freeloaders GTFO.

Win win.

If they do nothing and just 2 of us, then I think as an extra live fir myself, I'm sure you get 2 lives instead of 1.

Funnily enough a while back, I had a rusher and did it myself, taking my time, clearing the enemy that spawns in the vehicle everytime I was making a run for the trailer. Mission completed, they left a voice msg mid-way, I only listened to it after "Just go for the f*cking truck and they will stop spawning". My reply was "Thank you to you too, you were great a help dying early on :) ".

I hate players who go Rambo and blow everything up including the mission objective thus failing the mission.
