I've checked the handling.dat file and it doesn't sync up with the Social Club stats, that's how it's relevant. What the f*ck is it that you don't understand?

Until you watch the video there really is no point in discussing this with you.

Please show me in the handling.dat file where it states the top speed of any vehicle IN MILES PER HOUR

The number that you are referring to is for a piece of software to use - not for you to look at and say "herp depr that's not the same as the social clurb". Do you even know a thing about computers???

Whatever the actual top speed is, it's clear that cars in SP go faster than Online. It doesn't matter how you look at it.

SP- 230 MPH on Social Club.

MP- 154 MPH on Social Club.

Same car, fully modded.

Yes because you have to be a R* developer to know things about the game, it's not like you see amateur modders using handling.dat to create drivable modded cars right, genius?

lol wtf are you talking about?

What exactly is it that you don't understand?

they don't understand how dumb you are hundred twenty miles an hour is the fastest a car can gO? do you even play the same game as us cars go WAY faster than 120 miles per hour obviously you have never Road anything but a bike even the body goes faster than 120 miles per hour

First person on cars will be amazing, we'll finally be able to see what speed we're going at and hopefully no more speed cap for Online

What speed cap?

Most cars in Online are capped at around 150-160MPH iirc, it's probably due to rendering issues

Um, no. No car can go that fast, doesn't matter if it's online or offline. The fastest car is the Adder, its top speed is around 120MPH in both SP and Online.

On my ingame stat page it says the fastest I've gone was 145 in a fully modded bullet. I think that you have been given false information.

Rockstar is lying about the speeds. They multiply the actual speed by 1.75 as to make people think the old consoles can actually handle those speeds. That's far from true, though.

Watch my video from 9:07 to 17:06

Hay guise, I jurst dun checked that thurr files and seent a vidyo on da youtubes and fownd out that R* haz baced MPH on a 25.00 multyplyers!!!11!1! Dat meenz if u haz 150MPH on da socialclubz ur reely goes 6MPH in games!1!!1 Hurr Durr!!11!1

Next he's going to start posting conspiracy videos about how the turning radius on most cars aren't accurate to their majority counterpart, or that the driving physics aren't exact to that of Forza and therefore unrealistic!

I wish people would stop expecting realism in a game in which there is little. So a helicopter can float on water, but OMFG if speed isn't accurately represented as if this were real life!!1!1

What the hell are you talking about? What the f*ck does realism have to do with ANYTHING? I'm simply explaining to people that the Social club and in-game stats are inaccurate. I mean, I really don't understand the problem with you people, do you think I'm bashing Rockstar or something and that's why you're so mad? Because I'm not, I understand why they did it, the consoles simply can't load and unload things quickly enough without causing lag so they had to limit the speed. But of course it would look wrong for the Adder to have a such a low top speed so they artificially inflated it. That's it, it's not some f*cking conspiracy theory bullsh*t. If any of you would actually watch MulleDK19's video, you would see for yourselves, the f*cking proof is right there in the video, but no, you'd rather argue with me for no reason.

It doesn't, it uses the metric system because R* North is based in Scotland. And I never said it did, I said the Adder's top speed is 120MPH because I converted it myself. Any more questions?

I'm not sure if he is, or if he actually believes someone who wrote a 3D game engine would actually use measurements like MPH or KPH for anything other than user outputs.

@SpidersWeb I'l quote this again:

Models and maps aren't just made with random measures. They're made in precise scale. If you're going 50 MPH in-game it would correspond to 50 MPH in the real world.

If you're going 120MPH, you're not going 400 just because they multiply the recorded speed. Watch this video if you still don't believe me:

Well that's your problem if you're stupid enough not to understand it.

The burden of proof is on you since you're the one making the assertion, not the other way around. And as of right now, you're doing a horrible job of proving anything other than the fact that you don't really know what you're talking about and can only copy/paste youtube videos. Keep up the good work. :^:

I think I'll stick to being able to see, thanks.

Yes. This game works so much better in third person, like it always has. Given how good the character animations are, it'd be a waste to play it in first person.Yup, GTA is 3rd person, anything else is totally unnecessary...people should go find a 1st-person shooter to play instead of wishing GTA was one

I don't care how fast you think or feel that you're going, the top speed is 120MPH.

The stat page as well as the Social Club are inaccurate, they multiply your speed by 1.75. I've checked the handling.dat file, I know what I'm talking about.

I didn't get the 1.75 number from any files, the guy who made they video came to that conclusion using math, which you would've known if you had watched the f*cking video.

You got the number from yourarse.dat file or didn't ?

I've checked the myballs.dat file, I know what I'm talking about.

If you know anything aboutunit handling and computers, you would realize the reason of that 1.75 is because is a conversion factor. And I'm not talking about km/h -> mph...

Without even looking at anything, I can almost assure you that conversion factor is there to apply the velocity equation, while at the same time converting the indirect time measuring variable the developers used (could be a timer overflow counter, for example)

That serves multiple purposes, the one we are most concerned is to report vis Social Club the speed of the players. You wouldn't want your info something like this: "The timer in your console overflowed 1022 times on that mile you've just crossed" would you?

The other one, and I'm not sure, is for developers to program speed related events on the game with a more readable variable...

You can have:

if (s_ticks => 1022) { do_something(); }

Or much better:

if (speed => 120) { do_something();}

Read the thread. The Social Club (which is where gta5stats or whatever site that is gets its stats from) is inaccurate, it multiplies your speed.

No, it multiplies IN ORDER to get the mofo speed...

The number that you are referring to is for a piece of software to use - not for you to look at and say "herp depr that's not the same as the social clurb". Do you even know a thing about computers???

That is the worst "proof" of anything I've ever seen in my life. It leaves out so many variables and only proves that the youtuber knows how to speed up a video.

Oh you can spout a bunch of technical jargon to sound important, you're so cool. It is pretty obvious that you haven't checked anything as you said yourself. You you don't need to watch the video to know that cars don't go anywhere near 250MPH, it's f*cking obvious when you drive them. But you should watch the video to see what I mean by 1.75 since you clearly don't understand what I'm referring to. I won't be responding to anyone else that wants to argue without first having watched the video because it's pointless to argue with people who don't even know what they're arguing against.

Watched the video. Don't see the magic number anywhere. Video still means jack. You disregard "technical jargon to sound important" but defend a noobie video...

What tools did they use to measure time and distance? There's no mention of any tool... A stopwatch doesn't count. Anything else than a clocksource from within the console you are testing is invalid.
