First person on cars will be amazing, we'll finally be able to see what speed we're going at and hopefully no more speed cap for Online

What speed cap?
Most cars in Online are capped at around 150-160MPH iirc, it's probably due to rendering issues

Um, no. No car can go that fast, doesn't matter if it's online or offline. The fastest car is the Adder, its top speed is around 120MPH in both SP and Online.

On my ingame stat page it says the fastest I've gone was 145 in a fully modded bullet. I think that you have been given false information.

I don't care how fast you think or feel that you're going, the top speed is 120MPH.

The stat page as well as the Social Club are inaccurate, they multiply your speed by 1.75. I've checked the handling.dat file, I know what I'm talking about.

I have checked the fullof.crap file and I believe the stats.

Is that supposed to be funny or something? Handling.dat is used to set the acceleration, speed, mass, traction and all kinds of sh*t regarding cars, it's accurate and has to be accurate because it directly affects the game.

Read the thread. The Social Club (which is where gta5stats or whatever site that is gets its stats from) is inaccurate, it multiplies your speed.

Since there are no in-game values for speed then this is totally irrelevant. Speed is relative to everything else so "faster" or "slower" are all that matters. Who really gives a sh*t if the figures on the SC are different from the figures in the game? They're not real anyway. It says my top speed is 155.21mph so that's what it is. I suggest that if what you are saying about their being a multiplier in one of the dat files is correct then it is not an indication that the SC figures are wrong. It's an indication that the in-game values are wrong and they are multiplied up to correct them for the only place you can see them.

I deduct the most accurate value to be 88MPH based on the extensive research that I have conducted.

I hope you put this much effort in proving you're right in your place of work. It's good that we still have business tycoons working on case files instead of people that waste their time on video game files.

Did you check the disor.dat file? That one is the most reliable.

I'm not sure if you guys knows this, but SC stats comes from the IN GAME stats...
YES, if you look at the stats in the pause, you have the top speed and which you were driving when reached that speed.
There fore meaning that SC are not irrelevant as their are the very same stats from the game....

Great idea, but I think it can be even more annoying. Maybe we can put the rear view mirror in there, too - and the steering wheel, with two sets of knuckles on it.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Models and maps aren't just made with random measures. They're made in precise scale. If you're going 50 MPH in-game it would correspond to 50 MPH in the real world.

If you're going 120MPH, you're not going 400 just because they multiply the recorded speed. Watch this video if you still don't believe me:

Everything I've stated in this thread I've already known beforehand, I didn't put in any effort in and I'm not sure what the f*ck you're trying to say, how it's relevant, why you're so mad and how it adds to the discussion.

its funny how you dish the socialclub when the docialclub fetch data directly from the game, which run using those .dat files you check!

I know exactly what I'm talking about - you're the ignorant one with his head in the clouds. The only thing I was wrong about (and would have been a final nail in this ridiculous debate) is this...

if you look at the stats in the pause, you have the top speed and which you were driving when reached that speed.

There fore meaning that SC are not irrelevant as their are the very same stats from the game....

So the multiplier value is there to modify an arbitrary value used by the game engine, in order to make it a representative mph value. (That's if it's actually used for anything, which you cannot tell from looking at data.)

they multiply your speed by 1.75. I've checked the handling.dat file, I know what I'm talking about.

So know you saw 1.75 in a file. Well done. You don't know the relevance of it though, so stop spreading your bollocks.

Incidentally, what was the name of the property with that value? I've looked through handling.dat and there are many 1.75s in there, but not one of them is an overall value. They're all vehicle specific (and that doesn't include many of the vehicles at that).

@CarimboHankyThe Lazer isn't even that fast lol . Watch the video I embedded if you for some reason distrust the game files and want in-game proof.

Here's a spreadsheet someone made which tells the speed of all vehicles in-game in KM/H. Keep in mind GTA V has a glitch leftover from IV (mentioned in that video) where vehicles go 30 KM/H faster than their configured speed, so add that if you want an accurate number.

@Furry_Monkey you're just further embarassing yourself and showing your ignorance. And you didn't even watch the video did you? I didn't get the 1.75 number from any files, the guy who made they video came to that conclusion using math, which you would've known if you had watched the f*cking video.

No, I didn't watch the video. I'm responding to the things you have posted, like this little gem...

they multiply your speed by 1.75. I've checked the handling.dat file, I know what I'm talking about.

Seriously, I know what I'm talking about - I'm being kind by telling you that, rather than dragging this out and showing up your mistakes one by one.

So, please explain how checking the handling.dat file means you know what you're talking about, in relevance to the mystical 1.75 that someone else came up with.

I've checked the handling.dat file and it doesn't sync up with the Social Club stats, that's how it's relevant. What the f*ck is it that you don't understand?

Until you watch the video there really is no point in discussing this with you.
