Do You Think We Will See Some Sort Of Map Expansion On Next Gen?

So I have been thinking ever since the next gen announcement if there could possibly be some map expansion since those consoles could handle it. Somewhere like North Yankton. I think its a possibility but im not getting my hopes up on it

I would expect Liberty City at some point between re-release and GTA VI, followed by whichever city is selected in VI after its release in the far distant future...

Lol... lets see what next gen sales figures are from nov 18th till the end of the year before we put our foot in our mouths huh bud?

 

New maps are inevitable. I believe they said Gtao was it for online theyre not relaunching another online game in the future. All they need to do is add more maps/cities to do so.

 

So when Gta6 comes out and it takes place in say Detroit, all the new players will start out there. Us old veterans will be still in Los Santos or hopefully San Fierro, Las Venturas or North Yankton. Then you could load up your Milljet with 16 crew members and fly to Detroit. Why do you think we have 16 man passenger jets so we can fly from Lax to Sandy Shores??

 

No its part of an infrastructure we cant see yet.

I put maybe, but if they do, it will most likely accompany a Story Mode DLC.

 

There were three GTA III "Episodes" in three different cities: GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas. Then there were three GTA IV Episodes all condensed into one city: GTA IV, The Lost and Damned, and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Now there's three characters in one episode of GTA V, so I expect three new characters for two new episodes with two new maps consisting of Las Venturas and San Ferrio; thus creating three new "cities" in a single map. The circle would then be complete!

 

Just kidding, I really have no clue, so the "maybe" stands.

If there is a substantial map expansion in the pipeline for launch, I'm sure it would have been leaked or featured in a trailer by now. As for later release, who knows?

 

One thing is for sure, the addition of a major gameplay area such as San Fierro or Las Venturas would be the only inducement for me to buy the Next Gen version of the game...

Yeah, I'm sure people will be running out to spend $70 bucks on that advanced foliage system and new tunes on the car radio.

 

This game is already a year old. They should've had a major expansion by now in order to keep people interested and draw in new players, but they've been too busy fixing bugs and chasing hackers. Even the port doesn't have much fresh material to make it worth buying the game on the new console. They'll sell a bunch of copies to the devoted and dwindling base of fanboys, but they really need to draw in NEW players to stay alive, and that won't happen when there are a plenty of brand new games out there to play.

$265 Million to be exact, but how do you know they weren't already planned during the initial stages of development?

Edit: Just to add, they made $1 Billion in sales in the first three days. That's about a 400% return on their investment.

Ludendorff, NY, might be the most likely to be added.

 

If I were R*, they should expand the landscape a little, more interior, add more fields, maybe a forest, but keeping it all snowy. The NY world could be surrounded with solid rock like in RDR to create a worldborder. Because of this, all air vehicles should be banished from that world.

maybe north yankton. It seems like it would have been easier to add liberty city for 360/ps3 since it was built for those systems. I guess the other 2 cities are possible with some long highway connection, or accessible only by air or boat travel.

I'm pretty sure GTA Online will continue even into future versions VI VII etc, so there is a possibility for anything.

Not gonna happen,GTAV is their biggest project yet,and a Red Dead game can't offer an open world as amazing as GTAV.

They would have to make it first. North Yankton isn't an island,so they'd have to figure out how to solve the border problem,then they'd have to actually add something interesting in it because North Yankton is small and halfo f the stuff isn't even completely rendered.

This. Let's be realistic guys. Rockstar aren't going to create a brand new city as dlc, that's ridiculous. If we're lucky we'll get the yacht that was featured in the single player mission when Micheal crashes Tracy's boat party with the porn producers. The extent of future dlc will probably remain as it has, with new cars, planes, boats, clothes, and missions.
