He's saying X360/PS3 sales were higher than the total number of people who bought XB1/PS4 consoles. So the market for the new GTAV is greatly reduced, it's likely the playerbase online will be as well.

 

I do think it's a bit skewed though, in that serious GTAO players (not the people who quit out after ten minutes) are probably the types of people who would run out and grab a new console.

So I'll be keen to see how many copies of the new version they do sell when it's released. I wouldn't expect it to be anything ridiculous like 90% of GTAO players though.

I know the math, but hes small minded. Copies sold means many different things. How many of those sold got put away after a couple of months?

 

How many of those sold compare to the number of players STILL playing online? Give the new version some time like i said. Its not even out yet.

I did not say everybody who bought the copy on ps3/360 was playing online, but on that great amount of games sold, a percentage do play and will still play for a while.

If they release paid DLC for ps3/xbox then that means income, and I'm persuaded the amount of copies sold on ps4/xbone will never surpass those sold on ps3/360.

As to what online can take on ps3...

I have mods where I can spawn ufos, ferris wheels, asteroids, you name it.

My assault smg shoots ship destroy rounds that send tanks flying into the clouds.

My Sultan accelerates like no other vehicle in game and I topped it out at 350 mph.

The only thing that has a hard time loading is the buildings at those speeds but that's normal.

 

Other than that it runs fine even with all the ridiculous abuse I throw at it so don't tell me it doesn't run properly on my system .

When I get a ps4 it will probably be one of the first games I'll buy.

I just can't take all these false claims that Rockstar will abandon the old gen players as soon as gta comes out for current gen.

It will eventually happen of course but not for a long time.

 

The only thing I think might happen is a huge release the likes of tbogt or tlad on gta iv. And it's possible that it'll be at a time when the ps4 is pushed harder in its potential thus making it too hard for the ps3 to handle or too complicated to transfer over.

 

But like I said I don't think it'll happen anytime soon.

I've hit a cargobob flying over the airport from the construction site near the helipad/docks area.

Simply by modding the range on an smg shooting explosive ammo.

I have no idea why it's reduced maybe pseudo hardware limitations but it's odd because the game can take it even online .

 

Obviously the game slows down a bit when you blow up everything with an explosive ammo smg but you'd be surprised the kind of abuse the game can take trust me.

 

Or if you still think I'm full of it send me your psn id in a pv message and I'll happily give you a demonstration .

And believe me you'll have alot of fun .

Kind of, lets say that I know GTA V on ps3 was the game that would push the ps3 to its limits anyway. To that extent I agree that the hardware is put through alot of abuse seeing how massive this game is. And you can see these flaws with like you said some of the limitations like max speed etc.

But there are others that can be tweaked on a jailbroken ps3 and like I said when you see what you can do after it makes you wonder why the game is held back on certain aspects.

Obviously a jb ps3 is a bit more potent too, it runs at 150% so that might help indeed I agree.

 

I know for certain the ps4 version will be much more smooth, atleast on single player. I mean it's logic when you see the processing power packed into that thing.

I'm just not so sure online on ps4 will be such a radical evolution as some people think.

You have to take into account server issues and connection issues etc etc...

 

But like I said if you want a demonstration don't hesitate, the ferris wheels and asteroids do mess up the game if you over do it but the other mods are quite interesting to explore.

 

Edit: for the jailbreaking, I'd say go ahead you won't regret it. Some games are pretty much inaccessible like black ops 2 especially on dex but if you know how to protect yourself you're good to go.

And there are so many more aspects to jailbreaking than just modding gta, you can pretty much do whatever you want

Once a new console comes out the old usually fades out 2 years after. Its coming up to a year in november for ps4. That has been the norm in console history.

 

Im do not think that because i can afford it everyone else should, i live in the real world.

I don't think I will get it next year due to uni commitments and as mentioned costs. When the cheaper models arrive that is when I'll make the jump whenever that is. I very much doubt I'll be playing GTA by 2016 anyway so it won't really affect me. But the thing is the audience will still be there by the end of 2015, whether R* chooses to support it as well as next gen is another matter. As it will be around a 5 year project at that point. I imagine R* moving on and stopping the content updates altogether on all systems by then.

online is even more broken when you dumbass modders are in there f*cking with the code and really maxing the hardware out fully. it might not lag as much on your system but everyone elses is f*cked cause their consoles dont know whats going on and are trying to keep up. i can be standing still and the buildings pop in and out of existence and the roads turn grey with no textures and the world doesnt render at all when one of you modders are nearby doing your no skill bitch ass noob grenade spam bombs nonstop. it simply maxes out the hardware and if you dont think it does then you clearly dont know a f*cking thing about computers processors, memory, consoles and how they work and just how exactly slow old and sh*tty the ps3 is compared to the ps4 hardware specs. Your extreme actions are not without consequence and it greatly disrupts the game, it causes unknown errors and freezes and all sorts of sh*t for other normal people with stock consoles. they get stuck loading on clouds, they get stuck in their garage staring at the door, their console runs slow motion and their controls dont work properly while their outdated console chugs away trying to make sense of why a Karin Sultan RS is flying through the air at 350mph and pistols are shooting grenades. You f*cking clowns think youre l33t skillz hackers and you dont even know how much ram the system youre using has or what ip address even is, lol!

 

All you gotta do to prove hardware limitations if you do somewhat have a clue what those things are and how they work and why is go to invite only lobby by yourself, stand still for 3 minutes during the day at a busy intersection and watch all the npcs walking and driving around, then simply turn your camera and watch them disappear, then start driving 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 an then full speed, noting how much stuff disappears at each level. then go public session with red dots who are shooting each other and blowing sh*t up and half the time NO f*ckING traffic or no police even spawn, cause it takes more juice to keep track of more players and more bombs and the more people you have the less npcs you will have, cars will have no drivers, cars will disappear when you touch them, store clerks take 10 seconds to pop into view and let you access menu to buy stuff when you walk into a store. white dot sessions do have way less problems cause its the explosions and police ai that really tax and kill it and they dont bother each other much so they dont have those issues, so they actually have some npc traffic and pedestrians. its night and day, and invite only by yourself has way more than that even. more people, more action, more problems, less npcs. hardware is maxed and simply cannot spawn them.

 

Why do you think ps3 online has no animals and half the sh*t that singleplayer had? hardware limitations plain and simple. its not some vast conspiracy to get you to buy the game again for ps4, the ps3 is 8 f*cking years old, do you have any idea how technology and computers work:? consoles are computers, make no mistake. they do the same f*cking thing a pc does with the same essential hardware components, except they are cheaper, slower, non up gradable and have different OS and controls. true they are standard which makes it easier to make games for them and can run a little bit more optimized since it was specifically designed for it vs a pc that can have hundreds of different types of hardware. but its still 8 years old, its a dinosaur, what else do you still have and use thats 8 years old? how does it work compared to current replacement equivalent? comprehend?

 

even if they add nothing new to ps4 its still going to be twice the game you currently see when you play, they have no room for growth on ps3, they will prolly release a storymode paid content missions pack cause that runs semi decently, still sh*tty but its playable, but it can never grow online like the ps4 will. and they dont give two f*cks that 30 million ps3 owners bought it, 29.5 mill of them dont even play it anymore, they arent getting any more money out of them so why exactly do you think they care about you? you think they cant wait to offer you more FREE DLC? haha, dream on buddy. they know everyone who is a fan will buy ps4 and keep playing it if its not sh*tty like the ps3 and thats where they will sell cash cards by the billions, after they fix the cheating, make the game run properly and all the modders are gone and all the money glitching cheaters cant glitch any more money and suddenly realize they are gonna have to learn to shoot cause they cant afford to blast off 500$ rockets nonstop anymore when they actually gotta play missions and sh*t to earn money for ammo.

You f*cking clowns think youre l33t skillz hackers and you dont even know how much ram the system youre using has or what ip address even is, lol!

 

All you gotta do to prove hardware limitations if you do somewhat have a clue what those things are and how they work and why is go to invite only lobby by yourself, stand still for 3 minutes during the day at a busy intersection and watch all the npcs walking and driving around, then simply turn your camera and watch them disappear, then start driving 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 an then full speed, noting how much stuff disappears at each level. then go public session with red dots who are shooting each other and blowing sh*t up and half the time NO f*ckING traffic or no police even spawn, cause it takes more juice to keep track of more players and more bombs and the more people you have the less npcs you will have, cars will have no drivers, cars will disappear when you touch them, store clerks take 10 seconds to pop into view and let you access menu to buy stuff when you walk into a store. white dot sessions do have way less problems cause its the explosions and police ai that really tax and kill it and they dont bother each other much so they dont have those issues, so they actually have some npc traffic and pedestrians. its night and day, and invite only by yourself has way more than that even. more people, more action, more problems, less npcs. hardware is maxed and simply cannot spawn them.

 

Why do you think ps3 online has no animals and half the sh*t that singleplayer had? hardware limitations plain and simple. its not some vast conspiracy to get you to buy the game again for ps4, the ps3 is 8 f*cking years old, do you have any idea how technology and computers work:? consoles are computers, make no mistake. they do the same f*cking thing a pc does with the same essential hardware components, except they are cheaper, slower, non up gradable and have different OS and controls. true they are standard which makes it easier to make games for them and can run a little bit more optimized since it was specifically designed for it vs a pc that can have hundreds of different types of hardware. but its still 8 years old, its a dinosaur, what else do you still have and use thats 8 years old? how does it work compared to current replacement equivalent? comprehend?

 

even if they add nothing new to ps4 its still going to be twice the game you currently see when you play, they have no room for growth on ps3, they will prolly release a storymode paid content missions pack cause that runs semi decently, still sh*tty but its playable, but it can never grow online like the ps4 will. and they dont give two f*cks that 30 million ps3 owners bought it, 29.5 mill of them dont even play it anymore, they arent getting any more money out of them so why exactly do you think they care about you? you think they cant wait to offer you more FREE DLC? haha, dream on buddy. they know everyone who is a fan will buy ps4 and keep playing it if its not sh*tty like the ps3 and thats where they will sell cash cards by the billions, after they fix the cheating, make the game run properly and all the modders are gone and all the money glitching cheaters cant glitch any more money and suddenly realize they are gonna have to learn to shoot cause they cant afford to blast off 500$ rockets nonstop anymore when they actually gotta play missions and sh*t to earn money for ammo.

 

Console limitations are real, New version of the game will blow your mind and will be what the game was originally intended to be. theve been making it for 5 years, im sure they didnt know how poorly it would run way back then. everything theve added to online has made it worse, they just cant keep adding stuff or it simply wont run at all, lol! you wanna keep playing this version? I dont but if anyone does they gotta stop adding sh*t that slows it down even more and block modders and cheaters and that would help a lot. it will never run with full lobby with fully rendered NPCs like they wrote it to do, the hardware capability simply isnt there for the old gen ps3/xbox 360, im sorry, i wish it was cause thats what im playing it on, but it doesnt. i however have a job, 500 for a console and a game that will be around for 6-8 years is f*cking peanuts to me and i might buy one while i wait for the PC release, which is what will ultimately be the best version of this game with no hardware limitations holding it back. Imagine keep alive world size with 64 gb of available RAM to store it in? they may not utilize such abilities and let it max out its potential, but if they did? holy f*ck im getting a boner! you get it yet? does any of this confuse you? have questions? what can i explain better so you understand?

we can say youre dumb and probably have adhd, but im very much 100% correct, if you chose to remain dumb that is your personal choice, however if you read all that you might learn something, despite the fact im not very nice to you and i think youre ruining this game by being a pussy ass modder f*cking with everyone else in god mode cause you gots no skills to play right or fair without getting your ass pwned. if you wanna mod thats cool, but do it in invite only lobbies where you dont f*ck up everyone elses gaming experience and lag the sh*t out of their consoles. why do you think youre special and have the right to degrade everyone elses game so you can go flying around in cars and make half a block explode at once so you can get a kill? You aint, play fair or dont play, any normal game would ban you but rockstar seems fairly incompetent on this front, lol!

 

even if you arent a god mode cheater type modder youre still pushing everyone elses consoles to the max and causing them to lag, and thats not cool or fair to anyone else who is trying to play normally.

 

Do you know what firmware is? or anything at all about how computers/consoles work?

Le Sage at the end of the day you have no facts to back up what you're saying. Even if R* said they would continue updates for ps3 they could be talking sh*t.

 

They also said there were no plans to have a ps4 version. Well Well well, here you are posting in this thread about ps4 today.

 

People like you just dont want to accept the fact you may have just been hustled by your precious R*. The ps3 copy is already being treated as the ugly step brother. You probably haven't seen the leak details yet. So live in denial.

i don't mind having to earn money again, but earning race unlocks (I hate racing) and getting all that RP? Hell no. I have two 235 characters, and refuse to go through that pain again. Unless there are new glitches which I will happily abuse.
