Starting Over On New Gen Consoles

I'm not transferring anything unless ALL of it transfers over. In GTA Online, I refuse to start from 0 again. Let me take my rank, my bank, and my tank (don't have one but it rhymes better than "all my cars and both properties") and I'll happily buy the game again and play it on next gen. Otherwise: don't care.

Of course they will, this comment is just stupid. And combined with the fact that even some people with the newer consoles won't transfer, because of friends who will be left behind... yeah, they might actually be smart to not transfer.

FTR, it's not next gen, it's Current Gen. PS3/Xbox360 are old gen.

Given that I have finalized my Playstation 4, GameStop pre-order yesterday and my receipt is awaiting prompt submission on the morning of November the 18th, Last-Gen Grand Theft Auto: Online is now a respectable bygone. I endured, and had a great magnitude of fun within the Playstation 3 variant of it, having never succumbed to cynicism and the unsolicited generation of 'GTA funds' . My payouts and ranks were all attained with a constant rigor, just as what any game should entail.

 

All of my statistics are reverting back to '0', and with various epic reasons, one of which is exemplified by my quite epic signature. I look forward to being able to visually see my vehicle escalate from '0' to '60', and the hopeful First-person driving perspective.

 

Please pardon me for straying from the topic.

 

Vehicle interior amenities:

 

1. Operable tachometer / speedometer.

2. Real, authentic ISO dashboard indicators.

I'm not upgrading unless my cars transfer over. I don't want to lose them by transferring my character, nor do I want to grind cash over again to buy/customize/upgrade all forty of my vehicles over again.

Stop spreading lies. All platforms that GTA V/Online is on will get supported going forward post the 8th gen release this November. R* have clarified this numerous times through their community channels. So once again stop spreading crap.

Maybe the majority of people? You do realise that most people are going to stay on PS3/360 for at least a couple of years until its financially viable to invest.

 

I'm not 'fighting the system' I'm stating what R* has presented in front of us numerous times as I mentioned.

The fact of the matter is R* aren't going to ditch their biggest audience that generate the most profit. They may start to focus on and put more content on 8th gen as time goes on, but I'd fully expect all the major content additions (Story DLC, Extra Maps) to be available on the previous gen as the audience will still be big enough to warrant it happening which will generate their dollar.

 

And yes I will get the copy eventually when it can be afforded in the long run, so games come down from £60 to the normal price of £40. This will most likely be when the new models of the PS4/One come out to reduce production costs.

It depends on how it works.

 

If I can only have one set of characters per XBL sub - I'll transfer (no choice really)

If I can have two sets, but it leaves my existing character untouched - I'll transfer

If I can have two sets, but it removes my original character - I'll start fresh

 

Why do I need two sets? I'll be jumping back to X360 on occasions - I'm not buying two Xbone's - and I value being able to play with my fiancee a lot more than I do 1080p.

Not necessarily. R☆ has made some statements that hint at the possibility of cars property and money not transferring.

If money making was what it was like at the start of GTA Online I would gladly restart. However, now that missions and nerfed and glitches are patched, I don't think I want to start over as it would take a very long time to rank back up.

 

I got to rank 90 by playing missions, which was a pain. Did 90-120 by putting bounties on people and collecting them right away, which got patched. 120-220 or whatever I am now (sig is out of date I think) is all from free roam activities, like blowing up armour trucks (that glitch was awesome), killing bounties, and killing players with red dots.

They may start to focus on and put more content on 8th gen as time goes on, but I'd fully expect all the major content additions (Story DLC, Extra Maps) to be available on the previous gen as the audience will still be big enough to warrant it happening which will generate their dollar.

 

And yes I will get the copy eventually when it can be afforded in the long run, so games come down from £60 to the normal price of £40. This will most likely be when the new models of the PS4/One come out to reduce production costs.

I doubt most people will stay for a couple of years on old gen. Dont forget GTA is not the only game people are upgrading for.

 

Coming up to xmas is going to be a huge sale an increase for new consoles. You can get a ps4 with a game now for £329.

 

What excatly are you holding out for? A shooting star and a ps4 to drop to £200?

 

Also 30 player implementation content is going to be striped down to work for 16 players? The neglect is already happening and the game isnt even out yet.

 

Again. GTA is not the only reason people are buying a ps4/xone. I expect the story dlc will come to ps3 too but thats easy done. Onlines future is not on old gen. Proof - its only been a year since we picked this game up. 1 year......

You can doubt it all you want. Many people aren't moved simply by something being new. We are what ya call an informed consumer. Upgraded graphics don't mean a thing if the game is still buggy. Also I suspect there are many people who have substantial game libraries who won't make the jump till more games are available. Also the dlc won't be a problem. I'm sure they already thought of this. Is is true you can only transfer your stats once, and it won't be on the PS3 anymore? I know some of my friends won't be getting a PS4 straight away, so I still might be going back to that. That would suck.

 

I was considering starting over again though, even though I'm nearly rank 300. I miss those days where it felt like I was legitimately scraping just to gain money, and had no cars or anything.

That and not everybody has $400 to shell out too.

 

People seem to forget that money doesn't grow on tree except for kids who parents but them whatever they want but getting a PS4 + PS Plus + GTA V = $509 and not many parents are going to buy Jr the PS4 right now since PS4 is more of a Christmas present than anything else.

 

If i hadn't of won my PS4 i don't think i would've bought one til the prices were lowered on em and a lot of people won't be buying a new console until the prices come down so there will actually be MORE PS3/360 GTA players then there will be new console players at least for the first year of the new gen GTA

But in destiny u can switch from ps3 to ps4 back and forth easily but if you can't to it in gta that seems a huge step back.

You arent comparing apples to apples.

 

Destiny was designed to be playable on both gens of platforms.

 

Also, with new, exclusive content for GTA on new gen consoles going backwards doesnt seem plausable.
