Anybody else find it stupid that we have blips for friends and crew mates but not friends of friends?

We've all had incidents where we've accidentally killed friends of our friends before you could tell each other they are friendly a war has broken out between em.

The Online is almost a year old and R* has implemented a bunch of useless stuff but the one thing that could be useful they have never added.

No, as is in life and this game you cant be friends with everybody, if this was possible there wouldnt be anybody left to shoot. Players have to understand sh*t happens in a world full of guns. You're really friends? Then you all would be in the same crew and on the same page and friend list to eliminate these issues, but we all know it doesnt work that way in this game: You have Crew, Friends, then acquaintances---somebody is going to get shot.

Everybody is connected is this game somehow. How would it even work? What if your friend was already kicking your friend ass BEFORE you walked in the room? Then all of sudden your blip makes their blips automatically cease fire? They would defriend you JUST to keep killing each other.

What they DO need is to add a crew priority to the friendly fire option, this would cure alot of crew on crew violence due to members not on one another friend list which on PS3 is nearly impossible with the friend cap and larger Crews. Thats more useful to me than knowing who people are friends with.

No. Use party chat to communicate or even texts to communicate.

psn doesn't have party chat. texting gets you killed and your car blown up.

By an Xbox then.

Texting doesn't get you killed if you're smart and your car getting blown up is no biggie, especially if you're not in it.

What's wrong with having a laugh about it and moving on? I've done it and that's what we did.

They made a huge mistake by ignoring the simple brilliance that was RDR's posse system. It made teaming up on the fly so easy, now you have to have be in same crew/ friends list.

My friend's friends friend is gonna join my friend's friends lobby but I can't shoot cops..

because my friend's friend's friend's friends lobby has too many of his friend's friends with him and I keep locking on to his friend's friends.

Can we give my friend's friends and their friend's friend blips because

friends.

I shall presume it is related to social club statistics, due to them being a lot more in-depth and crew specific in some cases.

Well that's why there are "Friends/Invite Only" lobby, so you can invite a friend, then they can invite a friend who will then probably invite another friend and then things can remain peaceful.

Trust me I been in a lobby with myself and 8 crew members deep with 2 random friends, it only left 5 people to shoot and that is totally not fun.

so the friend and the friend of the friend are cruising together until another friend shows up, unfortunately there is no friend of a friend of a friend blip... :karmaeater:

Totally agree - when I was playing last night I killed a friend of a friend (I just saw a gun and RPG'd him) - then I got a message.

Not sure how the colouring would work though - as I am in a crew so crew friends are red, friends are blue, tanks are shown on the map, good are white, people want a jet icon, nutters are bright red, bored players are pink(ish)

just speak into a mic. It'll solve all the problems.. simple. Don't have a mic? go fukking buy one and stop expecting games to be altered because you couldn't be arsed. As for ppl who after being told by the spoken word that the guy he's blasting is actually a friend and he keeps on blasting well that's not a fault. That's a twat who needs taught a lesson by ur friend and you.

Complaint after complaint, demand after demand. It's been a year fuk sake and we are all still playing this game and like it or not we enjoy playing the game. Deal with it, accept it. If something changes then yes happy days. If nothing changes in a day/week or two then so what, go play and enjoy the game. What we don't want is the fact that you haven't created a GTAO forum thread for a wee while about something so I'll go to do that. Just please don't bother.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but I've been on this site for an hour and have looked in umpteen stupidly worded titles to threads (not this one btw) to find out some very small pieces of useful information. I know it's a forum, a discussion site. But ffs ppl not every idea that jumps into your head is a reason to put it out there. We normally think first for a reason so our mind can decide if it's worth spouting before we actually do so. Just because its ur fingers and not your mouth spouting the crap doesnt make it any more correct to do.

Word.

Unfortunately a lot of people (and I mean a LOT of people) *need* to post on whatever forum it is they're currently using. Remember AlexSniperBullet? (Amusingly recently called "fearsome" by another noob.) He'd post "I just thought of the colour green" and then immediately after would post "I just saw something that was red". Just start using your ignore list in the preferences. Mine's had tons of people on it, but most have been removed because guess what... they were dickheads and got banned.

Chill Winston. It ain't gonna change so try and be more tolerant and just brush it off. After all, you are better than them ;)

I don't think it's really much of a problem. but for general purposes it would be cool to see them expand the highlight blip thing.

I would like to be able to go to the map, hover over a player and turn their blip green or orange and it'll stay like that for as long as they or I am in that session.

that way if i really feel the need i can 'green' friends of friends if it looks like we might be in close proximity or teaming up vs a common enemy; I can orange tag anyone that pisses me off so i can get retribution at more convenient time later.

that would be fun and flexible, and because it does require some effort on my part, wouldn't change the dynamic of the game too much. It might also be used in other ways in freemode too with friends, crew or strangers (blooding prospects, death tag, etc). and unlike the friends of friends thing, it doesn't encroach too much on the player mood system they've invested in. If i choose to make someone green or orange i'm choosing information about that player of more importance to me personally.

I wouldn't want to see friends of friends by default. too many con's to balance out and limited in it's scope. but the principle issue is worth trying to address.
