Look at GTAIV, and then GTA V. If that isn't pushing that hardware to its very limits then im not sure what is. I always imagine it like LG as tight leggings with GTAV being a fat womans legs... testing the very fabric to the brink of destruction

But yeah, I think they did what they could with LG, but there is still a lot of room for improvement with the SP DLC, whenever Rockstar decides to pipe up about it

i kinda feel sorry for the collectors edition owners. they've spend 100 dollars on a special code and now they can't sell it in game shops as the code's used.

Neither. I think it was pretty damn questionable to come out with GTA V on XBox 360/Ps3 when they knew damn well they were going to do it on next gen too. If they released all versions (i.e 360/ps3 and Xbox one/ps4) at the same time, nobody would be complaining.

 

Betrayed is too strong a word. Deceived? Yeah. People who can afford it would have bought only one of these versions if they released it on next gen as well, but instead Rockstar is doubling is money. A bit deceitful to say the least...

Not to mention R☆ is using cut content that should have been in 360/ps3 (dodo was in trailer) and a car players requested for 360/ps3 (dukes) to try to entice people to buy the game again. That is dishonest and greedy imo.

 

The Dodo and Dukes are incredibly minor as exclusives go. There are pretty similar vehicles in the game already. There's kind of a marketing obligation to have exclusive content in a new release but, in terms of holding back this is pretty minor and could have been much worse.

 

As for waiting to release both gens together, financially that wouldn't have made sense. The install base of last gen was huge and next-gen was far enough away that people wanted to play the game then. I don't think a lot of people had the idea that GTAV would NOT be released for next-gen and so they HAD to buy last-gen to play it at all. Anyway it was exclusive to last-gen for over a year. Hundreds of hours of entertainment. Next-gen is an opportunity to experience it again more vividly if you want. If you don't want to pay top dollar, wait a year or two and it will be cheaper and have the experience then!

As much as I want the new items, but any exclusive they added in the NG would cause a bit of grumbling with people, I don't really care about the dukes, but for someone who constantly campaigned for dukes, it'd be a smack in the face with a wet fish for them

Im one of the persons who always said this "limitation" crap is bullsh*t until I argued with someone and they explained and Then I got it. sometimes you could of heard a console fan from how hard its running to render the game. me memory does play a part

Betrayed is a strong word, you can't just say that R* automatically betrayed the CG (Or Last gen) because there is more wild life in the next gen versions, and some better stuff in it. Hardware limitations is hardware limitations, I don't think I have to mention anything with that. CG users are still gunna get the free dlc's and such. The only reason why we haven't got these fancy features such as first person mode in a car (...?) on the PS3 and Xbox 360 copies is because of the hardware limitations that it has. End of story.

 

 

So no, R* did not 'betray'' us because the PS3 and 360 doesn't have better wildlife or fp view in a car.

Lol I would say rockstar saw a good opportunity to make money.. seeing that they knew the game would be 100x better on next gen. they said lets put out a taste/beta version on ps3 and xbox 360 to give the customers a taste of how good the game is and how better it could be on next gen. this way we can make money two years round and on the second year, make more money

I think I've finally come to terms with paying twice for the 'same' game. If you look at all the extra stuff that's already confirmed - let alone what is still rumored and unknown, it's similar to a huge expansion pack. How many devs do we know who would have broken that down into small dlc releases charging $10 a shot? it's no different (imo) except in this case, the upgrade goes way beyond a few re-skins and new achievements.

That said, I do think R* should have announced that they would be releasing it on NG at the time, but how many of you would have honestly waited another year to get your hands on the game?

I didnt want to have to wait another year or 2 to experience the first Rockstar game on a new console whatever that will be (RDR2 or something else). no other studio has been able to deliver anything nearly as "next-gen" as GTA5... to (re)play this game on a platform that will allow a greater optimization is a dream come true.

As I have said before, some was no doubt omitted due to technical limitation, some because they had to make the new versions enticing to previous buyers. A simple increase of the resolution is not compelling enough to convince those that have already played it to buy again.

I mean exactly what I said. Wake me up when I become rich which means I'm broke af, so unless I become rich, I'm not buying this game, or a PS4 just for a few upgraded things and more shinier graphics. I'm happy with what I payed for on the 360. So if they decide to abandon LG versions and not update them or release new DLC content after NG versions are released, then I won't play the game much, because that's a big dick move on their part.
