If there's a price for cargobob, that means Rockstar really meant to put it in the store back then or some day in the future to be a part of update theme.

I wish someone could remember more clearly but I started playing on the first night and my memory also has the cargobob being able to be bought originally. Maybe only on 1.00 and 1.01?.

AFAIK, it was never openly available. One had to punch in an address into the webbrowser to gain access to its page where one could purchase it.

It was my most wanted vehicle from day one. I remember how pissed I was to see it was not obtainable in oct. Then a I made a support ticket with rockstar about helicopters spawning specific to rank. Then they made chopper spawns random. Hussah I could get a cargobob randomly!

 

Then the almighty glitch appeared! Cargobobs for every mission!!!!!!111!!1!1!

I'm glad I bought it with the glitch back in the early days. I really don't understand why its not available for purchase. You can buy useless vehicles like the Shamal or whatever its called but you cant buy a Cargobob. If you want a Cargobob there's a 50/50 chance it will spawn in the docks in south Los Santos where all the military men are. You'll always find either a Buzzard or Cargobob.
