What Ever Happened to the Cargobob?

Damn I remeber the website glitch now, and of all things I was certain THAT would be reversable for R*.

I figured the risk of being punished wasn't worth it because they would certaintly be able to remove those glitched items.

A lesson is there.

It's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission

sure is, cuz you gotta have the cargobob XD

don't get why they disabled it for online though, some of their decisions are just so weird and illogical

I've been playing since a couple of days in and I never recall a cargobob being available for purchase.

EDIT: just found out they can float on water...gonna have to try that one...

All helicopters can float on water.

The Lonesome Drifter

Wasn't it available with a glitch?

Out of interest how much was it?

185K, coming from an owner of one ;)

I think you can't buy it, because it would help you a great deal in missions you need the cargobob for. You still have to go to the airfield and get in it to activate the mission. If for some reason the two cargobobs are destroyed, which happens if you don't have a guy in a buzzard shooting down the cops in helicopters while you are trying to escape. On hard, it seems impossible to lose the cops by yourself in a cargobob. I bought it with a glitch many months ago and even though they patched it, I can still order it. There was a new glitch to get it, but I think you had to have a friend to do it.

It was available to purchase online from the beginning, but only for a very short time. Remember my crew leader bitching that it made no sense to remove it. What I think happened was that it was freezing people's consoles at some point, like the tow trucks, and Rockstar removed them temporarily to fix the issue, but never put them back on the website.

Did they remove it from our pegasis vehicle list?

Nope, it's still there.

Was any reason ever given as to why R* didn't want us to call these for use on demand?

It's not an armed vehicle...

I think it was to make the "collect the container" missions harder. Those missions don't register Pegasus cargobobs as completing the "Acquire a Cargobob" objective though, so the thought must have been for if/when that cargobob goes up in flames, you would need to go all the way back to the base and steal another instead of just calling for one.And thus slowing our acquisition of GTA$...

Seems to be a theme with R*.

Yah thats why I quit playing those missions. Docks to stock american xports fvck those.

But this is absolutely the best reason to be an OG in gta online. Cargobob for missions opens a whole new world.

I always get serious props from randoms when I do boat in the bay with the 'bob.

This.

Plus it's lovely to have a guaranteed one for free roam, Armoured Trucks and Simeon Vehicles always seem to end up on Maze Tower...

The purchase price is obviously a SP one though, I don't think they ever meant for us to buy them. Shame.

Yeah i guess so... the first Cargo in that kind of missions has to be stolen.... however if u crash the first one u can continue with a pegasus one :D

Damn $185k is cheap as f*ck. I should have bought it in the billionaire days when the glitch first came out, but I didn't care about flying at all back then, felt all aircraft was pointless.

Still bought a dump though.

There was a glitch that let you buy one from the website, I don't think it was ever legitimately available on the warstock page.

I'm curious, if it was a glitch then how did it have a set price, picture ect? Was it something that was cut?

Probably just the SP pic... dont know the SP price yet but i think it should be around 1.850.000? Something in the glitch seemed to kill the last 0 of that price... Hmm just my theory so far.

You'd obtain it the same way you could obtain the CE vehicles - URL swapping on the sites and replace it with the right index number. You'd get those for free but in this case, you had to buy the CargoBob. Seems like really no harm and no foul here.

Know the ironic thing? R* promoted a Snapshot challenge I believe shortly after removing it #CarboBob I think.

There's no legitimate reason for its' removal. People will tell you "because it makes missions too easy", well yes, but so too does the Buzzard Attack Chopper though - in more than just a couple to boot. And the Buzzard is still available. Also, in those missions people mention - you STILL had to trigger entering one by entering the military base, so that point is sort of moot.

Really though, it should be a legitimate purchase - perhaps $500K.

I've earnt more doing missions in 1.16 (something in the region of 6+ million so far) than I ever have in the previous patches, their new payout system is the cause of that.

I still want to be able to call Pegasus for a cargobob... I'll have to look into glitching one in, especially as I've started grabbing tanks from Fort Zancudo with one and dropping it in a player populated area, with the pissed off NPC still inside it :D

At one point we were allowed to buy the cargobob from the warstock website...

When and why was it removed?

how is this thread not locked??

No they did not, if you had been one of the lucky few who used the website glitch, you were able to get to the buy page and unlock it for your account, it stays unlocked because it was a legitimate purchase as far as the game is concerned, I mean you pay for it, personally I wish they would just put the buy page on the war stock site and let everybody get them.

However it does feel good that for right now, only a few people have them, and it presents a X factor for all sorts of things.

There are a couple of people saying they earn more on 1.16. It just makes me wonder if you guys were ex freeroam players. Fact is pre 1.16 us mission players made 300k on the hour, every hour, now its simply impossible to make more than 160 and thats doing just ond mission over and over with four players a stop watch and never making a mistake.

If youve madde six million since 1.16 playing random missions which gives no more than 100k per hour. Well youve played missions for 60 hours straight without spending a cent on ammo and thats an absurd amount of time. You could get the same money before in 20 hours which is far better for yourself and family :).

THANK YOU FOR EXPLANING! Finally someone who gets it...sure most missions pay more per play, but not per hour.

I was lucky to make 100.000 in an evening of playing, but then again I didn't only grind Rooftop rumble. This was from screwing around all evening and doing random missions, so I like the new system.

Yea I got my cargobob in 1.03-1.04 update damn I just realized I started playing in the beginning days of gtao after 16 updates and it soon to be in new gen consoles I might play the game till gta 6 comes out since I don't really buy much games unless I really like the game. But hope you guys can glitch a cargobob on your Pegasus collections!!

I guess it was 185k since everyone is saying it. For some reason I remember paying 28k for mine, maybe I'm confusing it with something else.

So actually was it really in the store at first?

If there's a price for cargobob, that means Rockstar really meant to put it in the store back then or some day in the future to be a part of update theme.

It was merely a single player option accessed via multiplayer. It was never a legit option for purchase online.
