Would you want a GTA game set in Alaska?

This morning, I was watching a TV show called Ice Cold Killers. The show is about murders that take place in the remote interior of Alaska. Watching that show made me think about a Grand Theft Auto game set in Alaska.

Here's why I think Alaska would be a cool (no pun intended) setting for a Grand Theft Auto game:

  • Alaska has a unique landscape. It has glaciers, tundra, forests, mountains, and much more.
  • Alaska has a variety of cities and towns. Modern cities such as Anchorage and Fairbanks exist, but so do many isolated towns and villages. Some of these communities aren't even accessible by road.
  • An Alaska setting has potential for new vehicles. Due to its terrain, Rockstar could introduce vehicles such as ski planes and snowmobiles.
  • An Alaska setting has potential for new activities. Rockstar could introduce activities such as kayaking, mountain climbing, and fishing.
  • Many unique animals live in Alaska. Some of Alaska's wildlife include grizzly bears, killer whales, and moose.
  • Alaska is home to the northern lights (aurora borealis). They cannot be viewed from any other U.S. state.
  • Alaska has more guns per capita than any other state in the U.S. No Grand Theft Auto game would be complete without guns.

What do you think GTA Forums? Would you want a GTA Game set in Alaska? Why or why not?

I dig it, my life-long dream of assassinating Sarah Palin can finally come true! :^:

Yeah, that would be a nice change of pace. Maybe they'd include Mt. McKinley in there. That would be awesome to scale as it's a lot larger than Mt. Chiliad.

Only if we get to fight off the invading Russians.

But really though, what crime is there in Alaska other than a guy shooting his wife mistaking it for a bear or something?

A GTA in Alaska would be great. It would be different, and it wouldn't feel as same as before.

If it is gunna appear, it should appear in a Spin off, not in the main series.

It would be a refreshing change for the series and in a new direction. Just wondering what kind of a story it would entail.

Exactly. What crime is there in Alaska?

While Alaska has a beautiful landscape and would definitely be an innovative setting, I don't know how it’d suit in a GTA game. Washington state on the other side could combine big and popular cities like Seattle with huge natural areas which are kind of similar to the Alaskan ones.

But if you think about it, a criminal escaping cops between snowy peaks and misty forests in one of those classic seaplanes is still tempting...

Why not just make it in Antarctica?

There's this:

So, the protagonist would be a kingpin rapist?

Sure, why not. No crime to commit, no vehicles to steal for miles, and you don't even have to do much since you receive free money. A bold new direction.

Sounds like a good idea, but what would you do? There is crime but there isn't that many citizens.. Rockstar can't put 800 peds in the middle of a forest.

DLC: yeah but has to be interesting

Game: would rather see china be included before Alaska smh.

Of course not, I was just showing you that Alaska does have crime. Edited by Ray Margarita

But would it fit in GTA?

"Hey Bill, after you rape all these women I want you to steal a snowmobile, shoot that bear that's been terrorizing my family, and then rape some more women"

If anything, North Yankton would be a lot better because, you know, it's actually populated and has crime

A Russian "invader" shooting his bear mistaking it for his wife.
