A Megalodon present in the current-gen version?

I would actually prefer a popsicle that never melts, so my character could just go around sucking it.

wtf?! no!! stop this stupid sh*t!! this is not a freaking sci/fi game

We never said that, but explain to me why Rockstar has announced a new contents of animal breeds and breed hammerhead, and a race of killer whale? Remember that this is a game «Open World»

But a megalodon?? i mean i know everyone is asking for impossible sh*t to be added in this game, but come on!! next time you will ask for f*cking dragons and unicorns!!

The megalodon is an idea I suggested, nothing more! Why do you think Rockstar offers us to offer them ideas to their email [email protected]? Rockstar is trying to accommodate as many players as possible by adding content that appeals best to the community! So please, stop being rude and childish.

That original picture is like my worst nightmare come to life, I think I'd need therapy if I ever got eaten by a Megalodon.

In GTA that is, in real life I'd be too dead for therapy.

To people that think that this awesome idea is too outrageous/cartoonish... This game has Bigfoot, a banshee, a telepathic dog, and aliens.

And nightmare clowns, don't forget the clowns.

We would need a sh*tton of military subs to take this thing down...but it would be FUN to go out shark hunting :)

It'd be cool, but the Megalodon shark species have been extinct for around 2 million or so years. :'(

No, there is no evidence of his death! I inquired about it, because I am very interested in this shark ! And extinction is not 100% sure because 97% of the Oceans on Earth are unexplored lol, so it is not certain that the Megalodon disappeared. And his death is uncertain ! Anyway, I hope it will not come to greet us at the beach lol

you watched too much shark week

you know they apologized for lying about megalodon in their "documentary"

the whole thing was a fake

Now what would be even more terrifying would be the Giant Squid... *shivers*

You mean the Kraken, Even though it's just myth :D.

Okay, I did not know you were a scientist. Can you tell me about the extinction of the giant sperm whale [Livyatan melvillei] ? Can you also tell me about the disappearance of Liopleurodon?

In game would be cool, as far as real life I believe there is something out there. There has been evidence of dead whales that washed up on shore that were bitten in half. Not saying it's an actual Megalodon, but it could be a species related to it that hasn't been discovered yet. Lots of people didn't believe in the Giant Squid until 30-40ft ones washed up on a few beaches as well. So who's to say there aren't even bigger ones of even "Kracken" proportions. The ocean is very big place that will probably be never fully discovered as far as what could be living there.

You don't need to be a scientist to know it's gone.

What Steve said above is logical - there could easily be some oversize predator we haven't seen yet because of the depths it lives in. But I would not expect it to look like Jaws on steroids - if it had evolved at the same rate current sharks have it'd be living higher up (more food, faster life cycle, more light) and be visible to humans.

I think there are far more extraordinary creatures in the depths. But because of the pressure of the ocean, submarines could not venture too low in the ocean to discover other marine species. You can not be sure that the Megalodon or Liopleurodon is an extinct species. There may be another similar species like this, but this is hypothetical because the human is still far from discovering the mysteries of the abyss. But thank you for your video, I was able to get an idea.

OT: This would be an f'd up moment should anyone experience without prior knowledge. Decent photoshop I must say. Still don't know why this has made 3 pages tho...

The purpose of this Topic is to discuss whether it would be a good idea to add the Megalodon and other prehistoric species in GTA V to make the ocean of San Andreas even more interesting for us motivated to explore the abyss! Because it would be silly to model ocean with nothing to put something interesting, do not you think?

@AgentSanchez:

On a technical level, yes it makes sense to add more diversity to such a vast part of the map. However, on a GTA level, no.

I mean seriously. What are you looking to do? Just mozy on out to the depths to find a giant predator to potentially eat you, and just so you can run away? Sounds like you should be playing a different game...

@HollywoodVice okay, so explain to me the usefulness of modeling the ocean in GTA if you can not add creatures that are part of the maritime world? I never said that GTA V would be a parody of Jaws, it would make your journey much more interesting if you were with friends in a submarine for example, and you begin to be attacked by a large shark such as this one, it would add a lot more fun because very few players enjoy venturing into the water and prefer to stay on the mainland, so I proposed the idea to make the ocean more lively!

Do you think R* cares about that? That's one of the great things about this company. They make realism out of unrealistic things.

Sanchez, you ever heard of the the marianas trench? Lowest point of the sea?

Yeah we've been there and that freaking shark IS extinct.

Good idea tho.

So if it's not in one place that means it can't be in any other place? I'm not saying the Megalodon does exist but your logic doesn't really stand up.

The Megalodon, if it still has existed, wouldn't live that deep in the ocean.

It's extinct. The Discovery Channel explained in the mockumentary that the whole thing was fake.

To clear up other misinformation on this thread, WE HAVE NOT EXPLORED THE MARIANAS TRENCH. There is nothing we can do to get that deep underwater. Aside from small, unmanned subs, nothing can go down there and even they can't reach it's lowest depths.

Dumb, the Megalodon has certainly been able to adapt to another environment into the abyss. This remains a guess, I do nothing to contradict your assertion but maybe the megalodon could change location.

No. Deep-sea whales have high-pressure ballasts along their bellies to regulate internal pressure as they dive or else they'd explode.

Sharks do not have this. A fish can't just arbitrarily dive to entirely different pressures on a whim.

I think you have said before that English isn't your first language, if that's the case then you're doing a great job. "I do nothing to contradict your assertion", that's classy.
