Just Had A Thought About Next Gen Only Stuff

Something I'm still wondering is if they'll still keep doing DLCs for current gen after next gen is released

I can't see any reason why they would suddenly cut off users on the old gen. They will, I'm sure, try to keep as many of their audience as happy as possible, and if they stop providing content to the larger portion of their audience, well, they're clearly retarded. There'll probably be something like 10% of the audience for V on PS4/Bone than there is on PS3/360 currently, so they'd be utter fools to stop providing to the original purchasers.

 

Come on man, try to find that silver lining, I'm sick of clouds.

They already supported the PS3 and 360 versions for over a year. Most games do not get support like that. Also those consoles have very clear and obvious limitations ( that if you played a PS4, Xboxone, or PC ) you would easily see that make it so major updates to the game might not even be able to run properly.

 

PS3 has hard drive space issues, PS3 and Xbox 360 have RAM issues with pop up textures and disappearing objects and non varied traffic and at time empty streets, they can't run the game in 1080P native resolution, the frame rate is bad, glitches in the game, laggy online, and all of this.

 

What major add ons to the game could they possibly add beyond some basic missions or cars or guns or the heists for online? Maybe even these things wouldn't really be able to fit on the game for some people.

 

 

The next generation consoles makes it so they are less limited and are able to release the game they originally probably wanted to.

 

More activities, better world ( more pedestrians, more cars, more traffic, more varied traffic, more stuff going on, more animals ), more vehicles, new first person view, 1080P, better frame rate, less lag and more people online, plenty of space to put in new add ons, more music, better graphics.

 

Also from a non game design and limitations but business decision they stand to make a lot more money re releasing the game on next generation consoles anyway unless they released a DLC that you had to pay for on the PS3 or 360.

 

Also if you like video games and GTA ( chances are you do since you post on a forum about it ) chances are you are going to eventually upgrade to a PS4/Xboxone or upgrade your PC within a few years anyway.

 

He didn't say major updates, he said seasonal content. Different things.

 

Seasonal content = a few guns and vehicles. Not full DLCs. Because they're not DLCs, they're free seasonal content.

 

The space issues can be solved quite easily, if someone wants to. I upgraded all three of my PS3s, with the same 500gb drive, each time one died. So, there we go - one initial outlay, problem solved forever. If you don't want to, that's fine, but that's neither Sony nor R*'s call. They just put out the hardware and software. If you are able to open the box and put a drive in, you can fix that problem.

 

So, if someone has an upgraded machine with a bigger HD in it, they can get a full DLC. I have done this many times.

 

But your final point is key here - people are very likely to upgrade anyway at some point, so what's the big deal?

 

P.S. remember like, a year ago, when people didn't mention anything about crappy framerates and such, because they didn't know there was going to be anything better, and people were really happy with the game?

 

Yeah, I remember that too. Once more, proof that tech upgrades can make people stupid.

So, in short, -Rockstar doesn't owe PS3/360 players any more, time to upgrade; if you want to enjoy MORE?

I think by making something exclusive, that benefits only one, and leaves the other with a slight disappointment due to no fault of his own, and also since it's not too difficult to offer him like -as simple as car(s), which are not new, rather something quite eagerly the player waited for to see them return, then I feel it's a wrong move.

Somewhere, later in future, if they offer these players those exclusives, once they've managed to generate enough money, then it's completely fine, otherwise, there's no point in arguing against rockstar defenders, on this subject.

That's right, Rockstar don't owe anyone that bought it on the last generation anything, because they provided a game which is, even though this doesn't align with YOUR definition, a fully featured game that warranted the price it was sold at.

 

It was a full game. It wasn't a demo, it wasn't f*cking Metal Gear Ground Zeros, it was a FULL GAME. And you get free updates. And as far as I can see, the PS3/360 versions will still get the story DLC. There's been NOTHING to suggest otherwise at this point, other than baseless rumours and stupid speculation.

 

So what do they owe you? A blow job and free coffee refills?

 

There's a serious dose of GETREAL needed around here.

 

The PS3 version, for me, was as much a complete game as any other GTA game, so I feel like I am not owed anything (even though they just can't stop giving me free stuff every month or so...)

 

There's no point in arguing with Rockstar detractors on this, because they have made their minds up and are incapable of seeing it from the perspective of those that have enjoyed the game.

I'm just gonna take a wait and see approach with the Ps4 version. I rushed into buying a ps3 for this game not acknowledging the fact the they were gonna release it for next gen, which I should've anticipated with the way they marketed the game w/ the bait and switch with Max Payne 3 to "in a few weeks or so" or the outright lying of buying properties. I love the game don't get me wrong and still play it today. I def. plan on getting a ps4, I'm not in a rush to re-buy V because I can play it whenever I want and besides more radio/traffic/cars, the additions really don't add to the gameplay. If the word of mouth is favorable, I'll def. get it on Xmas, if its not, Ill just wait till VI to buy the new version.

You do know there will be more than 2 cars, right?

Meaning they are just 2 examples of the classic vehicles returning. There could be 20, for all we know...?
