Just Had A Thought About Next Gen Only Stuff

During GTA V's life on Xbox 360 and PS3, we have had a lot of vehicles and weapons in free DLC's. Xbox One and PS4 are gettng a Dukes and a Dodo Seaplane for being that console and while most people think its unfair (I did, but looking at it now, I changed my mind) its quite fair. Next gen will be getting 2 cars and all of the DLC's EXCEPT for the Independence Day and Valentines day DLC's. My theory is that R* is giving them something back as them missing out is not their own fault due to the game not being out for them. R* is also saying "Thanks for waiting".

 

This is my theory of it, if you hate the idea of this theory and rage, I don't care but if you give a sensible opinion, I will care.

I'm pretty sure those DLC's are annually, as in every year they will re-unlock the items so you can get them if you missed out last year/years.

Yeah your theory is pretty flawed. They don't care who did or didn't buy the game. The valentines day and 4th of july dlc is going to be made available annually. The same content every year. LittleBigPlanet does this same thing every year for the past 5 or so.

They do care who bought the game because if more people buy the game, more money. R* will put their own touch to the annual DLC's.

You'll struggle to find many people who didn't buy V on last gen because they were waiting for the next gen release - simply because they didn't reveal there would even be such a thing. So what R* have to do now, is give as many compelling reasons for console gaming gta fans (who probably all own a copy of v) to buy the next gen version. If they add a lot of the bonus stuff to the last gen, who's gonna buy the xb1/ps4 version?

Actually, I hope you're absolutely right.....Finally, I can go for 100% (again) in this game with ALL Patches and ALL DLC's officially released. That's what I am waiting for. The moment I know the Patches and DLC's have officially stopped and I am completely up to date with my PS3 copy of V, I am gonna do my last, final 100% Completion playthrough with perfect stats and a unique/special vehicle collection like I did all my other GTA Games.

 

I am doing the game again, cuz in my first time around (after 100%) I used a Save Editor and have a pretty heavily modded save with indestructible vehicles, vehicles on/in helipads/hangers, modded police vehicles, etc...I might keep this save just to mess around with, but I do want a clean, legit 100% save like the other GTA master gamesaves I have.

This. Many people, including myself, requested the dukes for 360/ps3. R☆ adding it as some bullsh*t exclusive for double dippers was nothing more than a callous attempt to sucker people into buying the game again. Corporate greed at its worst.

Hang on... who says anyone HAS TO do anything? It's a choice. You are not passive in that choice, you get to actively make that decision for yourself, and if it's not something you can do, don't do it.

 

It's actually that simple. Unbelievable, I know, but when YOU are presented with OPTIONS, YOU get to make a CHOICE between the OPTIONS.

 

Those options are:

 

1. Carry on with the LG version.

2. Upgrade to the CG version.

 

There's nothing in this that requires or forces you to do either. If you think you have no choice and that you HAVE TO buy a new console, you're probably also not allowed out of the house on your own.

 

If you feel you can't live without that content, and that your life is as incomplete as you believe the LG version to be, that's all down to you.

 

So make your choice, either buy it and shut up or don't buy it and shut up.

One thing I'm concerned about is the PC version getting the annual DLCs.

 

I mean, PC players never actually got to play it, so it would be nice if they repeated the event this year with the same stuff, at least for the PC Online mode alone. Or they could just give us all the Christmas/Valentine's day stuff out of the box, as with all of the other regular updates.

 

I see no reason why they shouldn't do the latter. I mean sure, it won't be thematically appropriate. But It doesn't really need to be in this case, as it's not a brand new update.

 

In fact, they should just do this for all platforms period. Why not? Then just come out with new stuff in the following year.

The only way that would happen is if there's content that's specific to the newly introduced features, and we have not even the slightest indication that's going to happen. So if there was a side activity introduced that they added something to in CG version only, then it could happen, though I can't think of anything that would be applicable to.

 

Are there more seasonal holidays in CG? I think CG is subject to the same seasonal holidays as other platforms.

I can't see any reason why they would suddenly cut off users on the old gen. They will, I'm sure, try to keep as many of their audience as happy as possible, and if they stop providing content to the larger portion of their audience, well, they're clearly retarded. There'll probably be something like 10% of the audience for V on PS4/Bone than there is on PS3/360 currently, so they'd be utter fools to stop providing to the original purchasers.

This is a poor argument. First the 360 and PS3 versions came out more then a year earlier you got to play the game very early you got to do things in the game very early you got to unlock stuff in GTA online very early and most video games that cost $60 typically fade in popularity within a year anyway.

 

 

Second the PS4/Xbox one and PC versions will be definitive versions, they will be able to accomplish so much more and create a much better game on new hardware and won't have to deal with as limited consoles. They should be putting in as much new features into the PS4 and Xbox one and PC version and abandon the old gen versions eventually.

 

 

Third if you like GTA games or like video games in general chances are you are eventually going to upgrade to a PS4, or Xbox One or upgrade your computer to play GTA V on it. Even if you cannot afford or do not want to buy a PS4/Xbox One or upgrade your PC say now within a few years chances are if you are still playing video games you eventually will and by that time you can be playing a more up to date better version of GTA V with more players in GTA Online. Imagine how old GTA V on the PS3 will feel within 2 years.

 

 

Fourth R* is a business and they have resources they have pretty much no reason to upgrade or continue to support the PS3/360 versions anymore since the better next generation version of the game is coming out soon. The next generation version should be able to accomplish more things and have more features and run better and look better, the only reason to be playing the old generation version would be if you want to still use your single player save, or if you cannot afford to upgrade yet, and since like I said before this is a business R* doesn't really have a reason to support the older product anymore when they already did for over a year and have other products to work on and when people want to upgrade.

It wouldn't be retarded at all.

 

They already supported the PS3 and 360 versions for over a year. Most games do not get support like that. Also those consoles have very clear and obvious limitations ( that if you played a PS4, Xboxone, or PC ) you would easily see that make it so major updates to the game might not even be able to run properly.

 

PS3 has hard drive space issues, PS3 and Xbox 360 have RAM issues with pop up textures and disappearing objects and non varied traffic and at time empty streets, they can't run the game in 1080P native resolution, the frame rate is bad, glitches in the game, laggy online, and all of this.

 

What major add ons to the game could they possibly add beyond some basic missions or cars or guns or the heists for online? Maybe even these things wouldn't really be able to fit on the game for some people.

 

 

The next generation consoles makes it so they are less limited and are able to release the game they originally probably wanted to.

 

More activities, better world ( more pedestrians, more cars, more traffic, more varied traffic, more stuff going on, more animals ), more vehicles, new first person view, 1080P, better frame rate, less lag and more people online, plenty of space to put in new add ons, more music, better graphics.

 

Also from a non game design and limitations but business decision they stand to make a lot more money re releasing the game on next generation consoles anyway unless they released a DLC that you had to pay for on the PS3 or 360.

 

Also if you like video games and GTA ( chances are you do since you post on a forum about it ) chances are you are going to eventually upgrade to a PS4/Xboxone or upgrade your PC within a few years anyway.
