The theater I went to was so packed the usher had to go around making people scoot over. So then she tried to seat me next to some guy as fat as I was and I was like "f*ck thst I didn't come to hold hands with my doppelganger" and found some kid in the front row to sit next to. Lots of kids were there, was kind if awkward. The audience cracked up way too hard at the stupid jokes, so of course the good follow-ups were inaudible.

f*ck movie theaters.

You need to find a theater with reserved seating. It's a game changer.

That post-credits scene seriously got me more excited for Deadpool 2 than all the promotional material for this film.

Stephen Lang for Cable 2018! Here's also hoping Bob survived Deadpool's asskicking, he has a lot of potential.

Also this podcast featuring the Deadpool writers is pretty cool:

None here will do reserved seats on opening weekend. The crazy thing is it was a matinee.

I wonder how the box office numbers are going to turn out. Way more interest than I thought there would be.

I can't wait to see it at home.

I feel like one of the few who are not surprised by the success of Deadpool. He's everywhere in marvel comics. If Deadpool is on it or in it, then it's going to sell. Marvel knows this, Fox was oblivious to the goldmine they own the film right to. I bought a Deadpool t-shirt a few months before the movie was greenlighted, and everywhere I went, people were saying, "cool shirt", or "Have you played the video game?" or anything. It only got more and more frequent as the movie was announced. It's actually gotten to the point where I don't wear it as often because of the annoyance of being approached by strangers. That was before the trailer was even released.

Deadpool was a ticking time bomb of popularity, and it detonated on Friday.

The last time I had this much fun in an R-rated movie was coincidentally Zombieland, also Written by Rhett Reese.

I misread that as Zoolander and my mind was blown for about a minute... Damn I'm illiterate as f*ck. I'm more surprised a first-time director has a blockbuster trilogy on his hands. You go Tim Miller!

Also, anyone got the leaked Deapool test footage? Googled for it but I couldn't find the damn video.

Amazing, I love how nothing was changed. I used to think Ryan Reynolds was a hack but man this movie changed my whole perspective on him.

Damn shame that Hugh Jackman wants to retire from Wolverine because he would be perfect for a third Deadpool movie after the teamup with

Cable.

Deadpool was awesome. Everyone in the theatre were genuinely laughing at almost every joke. Can't remember the last time I went to a superhero movie where the audience had this much fun. Stoked for the sequel now.

My wife didn't think it was all that awesome. Maybe it's time to leave her.

I never expect Deadpool to be that interesting everytime my friends and families told me to watch it ASAP and they bet I enjoyed it.

They were right.

I laughed so hard on almost every joke in there and pretty much impressed with the story. The opening credit itself seems to be in-your-face toward movies nowadays.

TL;DR, best $3.25 I've ever spend, more hyped to see the sequel than when I waited for The Avengers sequel.

i'd love to see wolverine, if treated with the same care and respect that we have seen here.. i have long been an advocate for someone new to play him, but i think hugh could be great IF there are no writing restrictions and IF he can be written how he is supposed to be, like this movie has done for deadpool, rather than focusing on how many scenes he can be in shirtless and flexing..

that small scene in xmen where he tells charles and erik to go f*ck themselves is more enjoyable to me than the entire 2013 wolverine movie.

i hope this is an eye-opener for whoever controls these things. let the kiddies have their captain america being watchful of his language and doing the right goody good boy hero thing all the time for the masses, lovely colourful gotg etc, they are enjoyable for what they are.. but also let us have our darker characters be what they are, let us have our blurred lines and ultra-violence with humour and uncomfortable realities that we love these characters for and trust that if you make a good movie, the people will come.

Jesus H f*cking Christ that was good. The amount of promotion he is doing now and he did before the movie was and is insane. Deadpool sequel is going to be f*cking brilliant.

i like that he kept the suit and has virtually no restrictions with it. anytime between now and the sequel if he is drunk or feeling comedic, he can don the suit and do funny stuff. he has a great sense of humour so it is working well so far and i look forward to seeing more random deadpool moments as time goes by

I'm happy I smoked before going, made this flick even more funnier.

had a lot of fun with the movie. Currently waiting to rewatch it with subtitles (because for non-americans some pop culture reference is hard to get the first time)

Just one question: i read just one series of deadpool (the one by daniel way with the "speaking yellow boxes") and played the videogame. The deadpool of the movie is closer to what series? Or it is "original"?

Much closer to the comics by Joe Kelly or Fabian Niecieza than Daniel Way's take on the character. Personally, I'm glad - Way never really 'got' the classic Deadpool fourth-wall-break approach, and for some reason, instead decided to re-interpret it as Wade having conversations with multiple personalities in his head - ?!? :dontgetit:

Have you read Duggan's Deadpool? It's kind of hard to avoid at this point. I think he's taken the character back from Way's over the top goofiness. He's still a goof, but he's got the edge back.

I just realized Colossus would have roflstomp anyone if he wasn't so naive lmao.He was clearly stronger but was not prepared to fight dirty. He was acting like a gentleman throughout.

That's just Colossus. He's not a killer. Even in the comics he's a gentle giant. He's probably the least likely X-Man to do something crazy like killing. So it was really a genius move to have him be in this movie, on top of, as Wade says, not being able to afford other X-Men.

Plus, it allows one of the best (and for a change, justified - !) 'heroes fight each other' scenes in a superhero movie - simply by having Colossus just stand there and have Deadpool (attempt to) smack the sh*t out of him. ;)

(and my goodness, the end credits, though - THE END CREDITS, THOUGH. *dies*)

This was easily one of the best parts and clearly just a big f*ck you to the studio more or less. I know I was certainly thinking it from the start!

This movie was everything I hoped it would be. I grew up with Deadpool comics. Heck I was a Deadpool fan before it was cool to be a Deadpool fan.

But the thing I appreciate the most about this whole movie is Ryan Reynolds. He fought HARD to get this movie made. Deadpool wouldn't even come across the mainstream light if it weren't for Mr.Reynolds. Its such a shame we won't be seeing his take on the character doing wise cracks with Spiderman. Screw you movie licenses!

Also its nice to get Deadpool in this current time. With the onslaught of superhero movies, things were starting to get bland and same-y. Deadpool delightfully offers that fresh breath of life back into superhero movies.

I just dread to think that studios are going to take away the wrong lesson from this - 'we need to make more R-rated superhero movies!', rather than 'we need to put superhero movies in the hands of people who GET these characters!'...

*sees that WB now has an R-rated version of Batman v Superman in the works*

...oh. Oh well... :rol:

Deadpool works well with this generation to be honest. With our social media and all our stupid sh*t.
