Heavy Weapon Tints

The amount of kills required for tints on heavy wepons are far too many. I'm talking specifically about the Grenade launcher and RPG here. 600 kills for blue tint! Even grinding that with a friend would take forever because of the ammo cap of 20. Does anyone actually have the blue tint for either of these weapons? They really need to nerf this. 20 kills for each tint would be fair because of the cost of using so much ammo. Just a small rant, what do you guys think?

Pretty sure Call of Duty did this with challenges (Can't remember well, haven't played in ages) Primary weapons like assault rifles had 1000 kill challenges where as pistols, launchers etc only went up to about 100.

pistol kills are still relatively easy to get. honestly rifle tints are too easy, got the lspd tint for the carbine in the space of a day or so with only 50 kills with it prior

its impossible with the heavy weapons though

Yeah I've managed to get green tint on my combat pistol without even trying. Most of my guns are at least near to army tint, even the ones I don't use often (except heavy's lol) .

I have all the the tints for the machine gun and heavy sniper but that's about it. The even more ridiculous thing is that you have to do it for both characters..it was hard enough on the first. You have to discipline yourself to one weapon or just not give a sh*t.

i got all tints on my main guns and now working to unlock tints on the lower tier weapons is such a pain...

they should have made it that the lower the tier, the lower the amount of kills required to unlock the tints.

as for the heavy guns they should cut the requirement by 50%... 300kills should be enough.

anyway my current numbers...

121= minigun

153= rpg

46 = grenade launcher

i play everyday, i had this guns for months now, so yeah it would take me sometime .

I prefer Black, Orange and Pink (for trolling) Tints...As for what I am sitting on as a player who plays frequent DMs (around 1200) as an indication of how long it may take to get the Tints:

Minigun: 573 Player Kills (with 6.7% accuracy!)

RPG: 291 Player Kills

Grenade Launcher: 485 Player Kills

RPG kills are easy, minigun VERY easy, grenade launcher you'll get down with some practice. In time you can drop one on a corner at short and long distance with the first or second shot, the very high rate of fire makes this more forgiving. It's a lil spendy though.

I already got all my heavy weapons except for my Grenade Launcher LSPD. It wasn't really that hard if you mention it. No Deathmatches, just Free Roam.

I got the LSPD tint on both my snipers really easily, and have LSPD on most of my main weapons, and am trying to work some up. Just the other night I got the Army tint on the RPG and very close to getting it on the Grenade Launcher.

Just think of it as a VERY long term goal and slowly pick at it!

I got LSPD on my RPG and minigun. Fastest way to get it on the RPG IMO would be to host RPG only deathmatches.

I have the army tint for each heavy weapon because I only use the minigun or rpg for anti air really. I feel like a scrub killing ppl with the minigun while im in ground battles. The rpg not so much for killing ppl on the ground with it either. If I want to blow you up, I make it harder on myself (to give my opponent a chance) and use the grenade launcher. I'll eventually get all the tints though.

The only LSPD tint I have is the Pistol. I really want the MG orange tint but I'm too lazy.

Just blow up peoples cars with the grenade launcher while they sit in it.

PROFIT$$$$!

Got them both on the RPG and Grenade launcher playing interior DMs like Franklin's house and FIB building. I think Franklin's house is just a bit easier for grinding these two weapons.

My stats I still need to do:

Pistol: 72

Sniper rifle: 131

Saw-off Shotgun: 126

Minigun: 480

Minigun kills are crap since I never use this weapon.

It was easy to get all the heavy weapons in LSPD tints back in 1.14 I think cos every time I died with the Minigun or Grenade Launcher in hand, my ammo got refilled to the max automatically once I respawned. Plus everyone that I used Grenade Launchers on in Deathmatches got pissed at me, thinking I was cheap lol. I just wanted to unlock those tints lol but now I've unlocked all of them so now I don't have to be cheap anymore lol. Getting kills with the Grenade Launcher is pretty sweet though especially when you fire at those hard to reach places, calculating where's it gonna land and sh*t lol.

It's easy to get kills with both the Grenade Launcher and RPG if you're in a custom indoor type of match like the FIB building or Michael's house. Also if someone's taking cover behind dumpsters, those blue construction walls or the JETSAM, GO, LANDOCORP containers, fire your RPG/Grenade Launcher at it. As for the Minigun, I like to use a long range distance and it's very useful against people who be taking cover by the corner when you see their hand/feet.

I need the following for LSPD tint

RPG: 181

Grenade Launcher: 167

Minigun: 397

I only started online in late April or early May and I have every tint unlocked except for LSPD and the Minigun's orange. I have played over 600 DMs so that's a big factor right there. It's difficult but definitely possible. The other colors don't look bad either, so unless blue is absolutely your desire, I would stick with the colors that are unlocked.

Orange is definitely my favourite tint!

Orange is the new black!

OT: It's easy to get the tints. It's just not a 5 minute job. (Why does everything have to be done now???) Just play the game and don't worry about inconsequential things like the colour of your gun. It'll come in time and you'll enjoy yourself a lot more in the meantime.

I only have LSPD tint on AP pistol, advanced rifle, carbine rifle and heavy sniper. It will take long time before I get it to my heavy weapons, because I rarely use them. Only time is in free roam fights when my opponents uses explosives, reverse driving or minigun on me.

Lower the amount of kills to unlock the tint, sure why not, maybe that would make us see a little less of these weapons.

Minigun seems to be a favorite to pull out for many players. Too bad my heavy sniper can reach them before their bullets reaches me.

JimmyFantastic

If you are desperate for tints just create and play your own small open deathmatch with weapons locked to what you want to unlock.

Super easy and doesn't cost ammo.

Most the time I play GTAO these days is to try and lock all the tints for more or less every gun!

The ones I have LSPD tint for so far are:

AP Pistol

Micro SMG

Assault SMG

All the assault rifles (except AK47 which is on orange atm)

Assault Shotgun

Heavy LMG

Heavy Sniper

Minigun

Grenade launcher I still have to get like 400 kills for LSPD :( But RPG im about 240 kills away from LSPD.

I suggest the best way to do this really fast is get a group of friends, make them stand together and fire RPG's at the group and get mass kills real quick

If someone wants to grind minigun tints, add me on PS3 (Nick: Bolatsi). Put minigun as a message.

I'll be hosting my created deathmatch "minigun mayhem", which is a pure minigun shootout at the golf course (up to 16 players).

I'll be playing for the next 3hours or so.

Tint does not effect gameplay

it is purely an "achievement"

it shows you got a lot of kills

"Let's make it 20 kills"

no.

I have played like 3 DM's in my entire GTA:O career and I still have almost every LSPD tint. I do A LOT of free roam killing though.
