Multiple car variants

I'm not sure if a thread like this one already exists, but I haven't seen one around here, so I took the opportunity. So I was thinking lately why aren't there multiple car variants. I'm not talking about extras that appear on cars, I'm talking about more versions of existing cars. Take the Futo for example. Wouldn't it be nicer if there was also a hatchback style of the car? Or the Tornado for example. Sure there's the open roof one, but wouldn't it be nicer if there was also a station wagon variant?:

I found this image while surfing the internet. It's how the Tornado would look like if it was a Station Wagon.

Not only there would be a wider variety of cars to find, but it would also add some more realism to the series.

There are many possibilities, but I want to ask you guys, would you welcome multiple variants of certain cars?

Of course.

 

V already has variants of the same car (Oracle, Buffalo, Cavalcade) but mostly of them are different generations of the same car. I would like to see more body variants like the Classic Coquette ones.

I'm pretty sure one of the first mods for GTA V will be stock cars modified.

A few? Yes. Especially if they were popular traffic or a big part of the location's history.

 

What I don't like the idea of is a total overload of cars we've enjoyed in past games just for the sake of them being there.

Yes, seeing as customization didn't turn out as great as it should've. I think variants in the next GTA should dive as deep as they did in IV or even deeper. More convertible variants, more trims, more estates or coupes of saloons. Stuff like that made IV's traffic feel so lively and realistic.

Well yes, I love model varieties since they introduced it in IV. It would be even better if they have more generation variation under the same model name (for example Coquette and it's classic variant).

Stratum sedan, Stratum Pick-up, Stratum 2-door, Shooting brake cars, Emperor station wagon, Dominator Cabrio, Dominator Fastback, Stanier station wagon, Futo Delivery car, Uranus hatchback, Ingot sedan etc.

Even race cars would be nice, accompanied with a race track or two. We've got racing bikes, so why not cars too? Pegassi Zentorno LM, Grotti Cheetah LM, Pegassi Vacca LM, Pegassi Infernus LM, Ubermacht Sentinel DTM, Benefactor Feltzer DTM, Dewbauchee Rapid GT-R DTM, Annis Elegy RH8 JGTC, Vulcar Warrener D1GP car, Dinka Blista Rally car, Vapid Uranus Rally car, Vapid Sandking Baja, Bravado Bison Baja, Declasse Premier Touring car, Classique Stallion Dragster, Declasse Vigero Drag Car, Dinka Blista Compact Race car, Futo D1GP car, Dewbauchee F620 LM, Dinka Jester JGTC car, Bravado Banshee D1GP car, Vapid Bullet LM etc.

Possibilities are endless! It would add a wider variety to the game, and a big touch of realism.

Just only the thought of an Emperor SW getting smashed to pieces is fun!

While extras sound like a good way to also save some space, I can't see how it would work.

I mean, extras are toggle-able, the game could glitch any time and we'd have a strange "thing"

If they're separate models, it could work.

The game world would feel a lot more like the real world if Rockstar were to implement something like this. I mean, when do you ever just see one model-year of a car on the road?

Which city is filled with the same year, same type and same car maker cars? There isn't only a Corolla Levin in real life, so why is there one type of Futo ingame? A hatchback would be awesome! Especially a delivery variant

All we need now is a Mountain Pass And of course, we also need two ZRs in the game, a ZR from GTA SA (RX-7 FD-3S) and an older one (RX-7 FC-3S).

Hell, that Stratum sedan should be called Elegy RH5, especially if you make the coupe version.

 

Only problem is, since it's the Stratum, it still is a Zirconium car. But yes, it should be an ancestor of the Elegy RH8.
