Should rally races just be deleted and forgotten about?

Considering they removed the point of them being the driver has no idea where to go, yes. But, with passenger now focused on other things, they would be better as a gunner for gta races, so it should stay.

You don't need a mic. It tells you which direction to go. I'm on PS3.

 

 

You need a mic or a good driver who knows the track to win.

 

If the driver misses a checkpoint or drives the wrong way it is nearly impossible for a co-driver to show the right way without a mic.

Wow some of the most fun I had racing was a gta rally race with friends. One drives the other shoots. Got outta the car and died and spawned in another car. Teammate finished and I came in third and still got counted for the win.

I hosted Criminal Records and Down The Drain for a week (4-8 hours per day). You had an easy job.

I have yet to unlock the metals though. In fact I have yet to join a rally race.

I'd like the joint-animations to be used in more then Rally races. Why not use them in any mode with teams?

They are ok with friends or crew, handy when you need to unlock the paint. With a rally you should have enough players to place bets as well and make it worth everyone's time. Just make sure the winner bets $100 on someone else.

I see I'm not the only one with the metals still locked. We should make a thread for those people so we can organize rallys and help everyone to unlock them. That and maybe the Backseat Driver trophy too

If you could get a group of people who just wanted to do the rally races partly for the fun of it and partly to trade wins, without rushing apesh*t to the finish line like people always do in any race, but just kind of enjoy the drive, it could be a win-win for everybody.

Im level 320 and 80 done around 700 strandard races and never done a rally race with either character, tried quite a few times..

Why get rid of it? Just because you don't find people playing it doesn't mean no one is, hell at times I feel like just making a small lobby with friends and trying it out with them whenever, don't ruin other's people fun like that.

Yes I thought this happened. What is the point if everyone can see the checkpoints? Seems dumb to me.

no, there's a 3 paint jobs which requires rally races, so if you delete, you either have to delete them too.. or use something else to unlock them.

WOW!! am I the only one who knows you can use the waypoints on your menu map? It's damn easy lol, just set your way point at the next checkpoint..

I like a more co-op based mode, closest things to Heists in the game. I never had someone give me directions on mic unfortunately, though its quite do able by following the small arrow on screen

I've got the paints unlocked. It took me to begging people to join.

 

I got invited to a rally race the other day, and when I joined the host kicked me off.

 

This game makes me laugh.

No, I don't think R* should get rid of them. Im mean, yeah, not many people play them, but given a full lobby they can be really fun on races that present a challenge.

Myself and some people on my PSN Friends list just boosted Rally Races on Criminal Records to unlock the metal paint jobs when GTAO first went live last year. Plus, most of us wanted the Back Seat Driver trophy. It's needed if you want to unlock the Platinum trophy which I really wanted seeing as I always want to get %100 completion in every GTA I've ever played, even before achievements and trophies became a thing.

Plus unlocking the metal paint jobs was a must for me. Brushed Black Steel mixed in with most colored pearlescent paint jobs, ultra blue, diamond blue, lime green, gasoline green, ice white, lava red, bright orange, hot pink, etc, etc, are my favorite paint job combos.

No. They should stay. I would rather have more stuff that needs rally race wins to unlock than just a few (awesome) metal paint jobs.

 

Imho they're only fun with either friends or crew members though, they can be very hard with randoms. But I got them unlocked on both of my characters without any trouble, though I never tried being the co-driver.
