GTAV on XBox one. Thoughts?

I won my Xbox One over a radio station. I might buy a PS4 to compare them, then sell the one I don't like.

Honestly I'm not expecting much from Rockstar. They've shown us wildlife, possible jumbo jets, pets etc.. but will they be online?

I'm struggling on which new console to get. And I've flip flipped a bunch already. Ps4 is more powerful and has that sweet touchpad on the controller. Xbox1 will have more American games, has a more comfortable controller and most of my crew that I play with will be on x1.

 

As for gtao the 30 player sessions is the most exciting thing for me but I'll be ass deep in farcry 4 for a couple months before venturing back to Los santos. So I'm in no rush. But I have until nov18 to decide anyway.

been there done that kind of thing, only real innovation comes from indie-games and you don't really need a next gen for that

until no man's sky comes out (or some other game massively peaking my interest) I see no reason to shell out 400 bucks to play, essentially, old gen games with prettier graphics

I know what you mean. This generation certainly isn't the graphical leap of previous generations, but what I think we can look forward to now are games that are truly epic in scale. GTA O with a living, breathing city will be a far more immersive experience than the weird 28 Days Later-style empty streets we spend most of the time in at the moment.

 

Im not desperate for innovation for the sake of innovation. Give me richer environments, more interactivity, more customisation and more detail because those things lead to deeper immersion, and I'll be happy.

And to add to that list more properties(mansions, houses, condos), new missions, heists, casino, stock market, enterable Resturants/buildings, buying businesses. Just more content in general over just the visual aspect.

Can you see yourself continuing to play GTA? What other sorts of value can you receive from purchasing a next-gen console? Write it down on paper, and then compare each scenario to the alternative. Personally, I purchased an Xbox One last November. I weighed my options and decided it was worth purchasing. I enjoy being an early adopter of game consoles, and I would have purchased both, but financially, that wasn't an option for me at the time. GTA on the new consoles will be an easy upgrade for me.

I don't think it's gonna be worth $500 for improved graphics. I already beat single player before online launched and i have 63 days in GTA:O and mainly just go into private lobbies with friends. I don't see the point in upgrading for exclusive content that should have been in the 360 version in the first place.

this is the reason I bought an xbox one, is when they announced it at sony's press conference. I said damn that's it I finallly have to upgrade to xbox one. GTA Online and NBA 2k is the only thing I really play

Nobody in their right mind (or who isn't a lottery winner) is going to buy a new console to play one game and one game only. The point is that sooner or later a game will come out on the new system that will convince you to upgrade. For me that was Destiny and also knowing that FIFA 15, Alien Isolation, GTA V, Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age Inquisition are all to come in the next two months. Up to last week there was literally nothing on new gen that I wanted to play.

 

Is GTA V a system seller? For me the answer is yes, because I love GTAO and I want to see how much more the game can be, but it won't be the only thing I'm playing on the new machine.

Nearly all the 360 owners I know are buying a PS4 in preference to the Xbox One. The PS4 is the same price as the Xbox One (roughly) and has better hardware, so it's a no-brainer.

Well its staying exclusive to microsoft. But I dont think many will play for 360 purely because most will have the one and just buy it for that

Just throwing my two cents in here, but I don't think the 360 version does this game any justice. The fidelity and authenticity of the Xbox One version is what you're buying. I mean, it's so detailed you can see the glitter in paint-jobs.
