Passive mode is now 100% passive meaning no one and nothing can kill you....except police falling from to high...stuff like that chopper blades and firetrucks do not work anymore...however now you can pull out a gun in passive mode but can only kill npc's as other players appear as ghost to you so you cannot run them over etc...

Got to watch that stream for a bit. The night time lighting looks so f*cking cool! Really makes me want to buy the game right away for new-gen, but I don't have the new consoles so I'll just force myself to wait for the PC release.

 

Edit: I also watched the same streamer earlier and in both streams he seemed pretty upset about the lack of interiors. I mean I really hope there will be more interiors on new-gen too, but some people seem to treat it like it's the only thing that matters.

Been watching some streams on my vita using the live from PlayStation app , not really blown away a next Gen game should be much more

There are still updates coming up. And if you ask me, R* has actually added way more things into this game than most devs do when they remaster a game for the new consoles.

Saw it and heard the player talking about it in a ps4 stream earlier. You can't shoot if your on foot in passive but i think you can in a car and it just doesn't affect other players. I saw a passive player in a car drive through a non passive player in a car but later hit an npc car while still in passive so the game can detect whether a person/vehicle, is a player, passive player, or npc.

 

No more getting spawn killed driving in/out of your garage or lsc in passive mode.

Im so glad they now have a proper passive mode. I now dont have to use invite only for just mucking around.

I agree something I didn't think about earlier they were saying people will exploit it...you can't.....when your in passive you can pull out a gun now...however other players show transparent to you so there isn't really a way to kill them unless you come out of passive....

 

Which is cool so you can kill npcs and cause chaos without worrying about other players you don't feel like being in a pvp situation with

Can you pull a gun on foot? I thought you could but then i saw the guy try to pull his gun in a store to rob a clerk and it wouldn't let him.

 

 

Sounds like multiple players vs ai cops will now be possible if all the players are passive. That way they won't target each other while in battle with the police.

I just watched a guy in passive pull a gun on foot....

So I'd say yea unless he somehow glitches it...ethier way only 1 way to know for 100% and that is in less then 24 hours!

You could always hear them. Same as you have always been able to hear animals. Hell one time at the beach I could hear skaters on that half pipe when there was actually no one there.

I remember seeing one fly over when I was close to the altruist camp. But I admit that it's pretty rare. According to GTA wiki they can spawn on air while you're flying an aircraft if that's enough proof for you.

Yes sometimes smaller aircraft spawn or fly over head, but I'm talking about the massive jumbo jets that are only flyable in SP. The only time you see them flying is when they land at the airport. They don't appear anywhere else or in online.

It could be more common on new-gen, but it does occasionally happen on last-gen too(but very rarely yes).
